This is really the post that convinced me to leave the sub. I'm so sick of how toxic everyone is. This dude's just trying to get into it, he's new. Be fucking nice.
Second - do people get them wrapped or replaced?
My dealership couldn’t even find (in their own inventory) a replacement emblem for my 2023.
The letters in “CIVIC” are all individual, they didn’t have them in the parts catalogue.
Here ya go. PDF install instructions are on the page. I ordered a set for my Si when my dealer balked about getting them for me.

The ones they put in Hondas sadly cannot handle more horse power than what the car already has. If you plan on performance upgrades buy a manual transmission car
So you can’t put performance upgrades on a CVT? I see the idea because if it’s turned to be a CVT and provide efficiency then modding it might throw that off. But I guess that would be for any type of car. Maybe more susceptible to a CVT?
You can mod a CVT. It’s not fragile china. This sub is filled with misinformation.
You can tune a CVT to increase the power. On a 1.5L there is LOTS of room for improvements. There are things to take into consideration though. No brake launching / no WOT from a dead stop, decrease maintenance intervals.
I’ve had two tuned CVT 1.5L’s with 0 problems over the course of 6+ years.
Oh ok cool. Good to hear. And you just got rid of the cars to get something nicer? I’m not sure if I want to keep my cars as long as I have been. Current car going on 13 years.
Honda offered me a ridiculous price for my 10th gen. So I traded it in for the 11th gen. Still have it now, tuned with FBO’s. I love that car to death.
You can keep the car until it dies which is the best financial choice or you can get something new & enjoy that!
Oh nice. Yeah why not if they offer a good trade in number. So far the car isn’t going anywhere. That thing is a tank. Still get really good gas mileage so been lucky to be able to have patience until I see something worth buying. Those markups the last few years are crazy.
“The ones they put in Hondas sadly cannot handle more horse power than what the car already has. If you plan on performance upgrades buy a manual transmission car”
I’m responding to your comment, not this specific car. Either way, it’s not the CVT, it’s the NA Engine.
Just go on YouTube bro you will see actual Honda technicians and people who actually own the car who will tell you with first hand experience that cvt is garbage and breaks under any extra hp of course there are good cvts in the world but you don’t find them in Hondas that’s why when you see a modded Honda 100% of the time it’s a manual transmission ya got it?

If you're curious about CVT reliability with tuning or just tuning in general I would start here.
True. I’m wondering how that hybrid will be with an eCVT and 200HP with 232ftlbs of torque. My car is old as hell and still drives perfectly fine but been shopping around for a new one the last 3 years.
Hondata has done extensive research and there are people running 250 horsepower low torque tunes that run fine with the CVT. The CVTs can handle some decent power, but high torque is where they run into problems
By no means is it bad if you are just driving around it’s Honda these things last forever you just aren’t going even close to 200 hp without blowing the trans or something else
As the owner of a nearly identical car, I think that’s too much for a new, non sporty trim of civic. I would/have just gone with spoiler and black emblems
I haven’t and would do anything more than cosmetic mods. I’m under the view point that lowering springs aren’t solely cosmetic since they probably void warranty.

Dude same here, but this sub is awful for mod advice they only want you to do tint, lower, black badges, and maybe 1-2 other boring things, i would recommend just looking up other builds to gather ideas, swaautosports.com has great parts, and i believe the 11th gen civic website is pretty good as well for ideas and community
Watch some build videos, and try to get an understanding of what mods help what, and go from there. You might want to learn some basic tinkering as well as it can be costly paying someone else to work on your car. As far as cosmetics, go crazy its your car. I personally would go with some nicer, more quality lightweight rims. Maybe lower it on some coilovers as well. The good looking mods usually cost the most though, like rims and coilovers can be thousands of dollars, but on the other hand your car will drive and look 10x better.
Get some black door handle covers, maybe use a black wrap on your gas lid. You're like me, you're lucky you got no chrome out of the factory, remember simple is sweet. Maybe put some stupid decals on the back like I have for fun. Put some Mario cart stickers over your poverty buttons and do some window tint and you're golden. You have nice black wheels too so unless you want to put the money into some new ones I wouldn't. Do some LED lights and do yellow fog lights too. Ultimately do what makes you happy and don't base your happiness on anything anybody says, learn and have fun!!!
You picked a good first car. Don't listen to the haters. They're just jealous they'll never have something as nice as you. Personally, black emblems are a definite 'mod', and if you want to go the extra mile, you should get an N1 invidia exhuast. I have it in my car, and it sounds awesome, not too loud, and it doesn't sound like a fartcan. Enjoy your car!
At this point there just needs to be a pinned post of the top suggested mods. We don't need 20 posts a day asking "mods?" and just getting the same 5 answers
Your point isn’t making sense. He’s asking about cosmetic mods, which I have done and support. By “real mods”, I very obviously mean performance, discouraging your recommendations for them.
Well, from my perspective, you’re voiding the warrant to still be a very slow car. It’s like paying $70k on a height boosting surgery to move from 5’3” to 5’4”. Lose a bunch for almost no benefit.
check out 717 project on youtube, he’s got a civic sport he’s done about everything that the aftermarket has for the 11th gen. i’m sure you’ll find something you like.
I own a 22 2.0l NA CVT hatchback in boost blue . I've sat at near redline at 147mph testing the top performance of this vehicle. the cvts can handle alot hell most Subarus are around 300HP, and all have CVTs or manual transmissions at this point . the only difference in this case is the 2.0l is not nearly as modded at a 1.5T they can withstand much more are boostable which the ECU on the 2.0 will not allow which is why many people say you're better off with a 1.5l or the SI or the 2.0l T Type R . you've got great brands like AXION PRL 27WON Ktunner and several others that provide great mods for this vehicle 1.5 or 2.0 .
let me put you on real quick.
and let me start by saying since you don't have the hatchback model if interested in a spoiler it's truly up to you I went with Hondas HPD Spoiler as I think it looks really good on the hatch for your model I would honestly prefer the trunk lid duck bill type or the SI type spoiler these cars do not need massive wings except for the Type R for its aerodynamics even tho it be lookin a bit goofy lol.

I hope this helps and keeps you from being discouraged. Who cares what people say in the end? It's your car. enjoy it and make it yours.
Duckbill spoiler, front lip, sideskirts, coilovers, maybe some other performance mods if you want like a CAI (makes the car sound much cooler if nothing else)
As the owner of a nearly identical car, I think that’s too much for a new, non sporty trim of civic. I would/have just gone with spoiler and black emblems
Funny advice from a guy with more mods than what you listed. 😅 Should’ve added in black handles too, oh and the fact that if you COULD do more you would. But that’s Mama’s hand me down car for you. She probably won’t allow it
The car is in my name now that I’m of age, I am the first owner/driver, and I have a lot of money stored for whatever I want to do. If I could get a this car as my first, I obviously have the money to do whatever I want. Mb for forgetting my $5 door handles that aren’t really mods…. I support all mods for this car except for performance because that’s just pointless and maybe detrimental. Your comment makes you sound really insecure since it’s mostly just attacking me and not providing any valid/useful points.
I lost brain cells reading that bro. I’m sorry 😂 struggling to find where the insecurity comes in 🧐 100% sure you used that incorrectly but none the less. I find it hard to understand why people in this subreddit have the audacity to discourage people in modding their car. Saying things like “I personally think thats way too much for this car” bro just congratulate him share your ideas on possible mods and move on. It isn’t your car and if you think that’s just “giving your opinion” he didn’t ask for that, he wanted mod ideas. But of course the main character side of you all kicks in and feels you should drop your 2 cents on what he shouldn’t do.
You’re actually weird bro. I did use insecure correctly. You feel bad and unsure about yourself, which is why you feel the need to attack others for having a different opinion to make yourself feel better in order to compensate. The point of OPs post is to ask for advice and you’re mad that I gave it. Also, asking what to do is literally asking for opinions/advice…. The reason it is not a good idea to do performance mods (which OP doesn’t even want to do because he obviously understands something that you don’t) a brand new civic is because it will still remain slow as all hell and voiding the warranty while doing it.
I don’t see why you even bother responding if you can’t have a real argument for anything that you do or have an opinion on.
Edit: This is why I can’t wait to trade my car in for a gr86 in a couple years haha
For a fun driving expierence I would say some decent tires and suspension tuning. Only cosmetic modifications I’d worry about rn is wheels but even then you don’t need em. Put your money into quilting parts also. Doesn’t have to be super expensive but don’t buy the cheapest you can find. I buy a lot of quality second hand parts for far below new prices
This is just my opinion and mine alone, whenever you can get either a wrap of your choice or paint protection film(clear) if you love the color. Second as everyone is saying black out the emblem. Don't black out your brake lights though ( makes it harder for other drivers to stop when you apply your breaks)
And last if possible tint your windows 10% (all around excluding the front wind shield) the windshield 50% don't recommend anything darker will draw the attentions of the cop.
I'd go with the black emblems I linked above, OE Si spoiler, quality springs, tasteful aftermarket wheels, tint, fog lights, maybe an exhaust if you like a little noise, stereo mods if you like SQL or SPL. Nice ride! 👍
Just black out the emblems and add a small duckbill. You could also maybe do a small front splitter and rear diffuser.
The car doesn’t need that much and if you do add too much it will look like a boy racer that might look the part but can’t prove it.
Si rear lip. U can find them almost everywhere on amazon. Had a civic 1.5 hatch 2018 loved every second of it. Sold it just last month for a 2019 bmw 440. Dont buy a bmw. The lip adds a great touch to the back makes it looks more sporty from the sides. Great car man and color congrats!
Lol people on here butthurt because “modding” a cvt civic like itll change anything other than the standard thats repeated (tint, decent wheels, lowering springs, etc)
Its not a type r or a si. Keep the car clean and classy. No point in dumping mad money in a car that wont do much performance wise. He asked cosmetic mods and those are the most subtle mods thatll keep the car clean. This isnt the early 2000s. A BIG wang and other bs jus to still get gapped by a buick century is wild logic. Jus enjoy the car. Add ceramic coating to keep the colour bright and enjoy it.
But to each their own at the end of the day. Theres a difference between people who likes cars and actual enthusiast. 🫡
Do suggest ceramic coating for any colored car? How long does that coating last and who do you know to go to to trust they’ll do the right job. Or can you negotiate with a dealer to do it or bad idea?
Ideally I suggested it on any colour car
It protects the paint really well from fade. I apply it myself but check your local detailing places and see if they sell quality ceramic coating kits. Its expensive but you get what you pay for in that regard. I dont trust dealerships on those kind of things because they over charge and its usually mediocre quality
True. Yeah I’ll have to price that out and add it to the costs. I’ve had my car forever and it’s still a great car but been shopping for a new one. This time I’ll get what I finally want. Would adding ceramic coat affect anything say if the paint was a manufacturing defect like mine was. The paint was messed up on those 2012 back in 2011 and recalled. Or would the ceramic coating seal something like that in and prevent the chipping if that happened? Just wondering.
So if its already defective it wont fix it but itll keep it from spreading more. Ceramic coating its a sealant. Like an extra layer of clear coat lol. So whatever you buy next and the paint is 9/10. Go get it ceramic coated asap. Itll keep the life of the paint lasting alot longer.
Ok cool. Good to know. I live in a hot ass climate in Houston now so not sure if my car will last 13 years here and still be as good as mine is now living in NJ with a more milder climate.
Oh I definitely understand. Im originally from nyc and i live in the lower midwest and the climate is so much different. I notice alot more when buffing/cleaning my car. But the ceramic coat will do justice in that texas heat. Jus keep your car washed and apply the ceramic detail spray after the wash to keep it deep in colour
True. I don’t know if I can stay living out here with this climate. LoL. Yeah sounds like the ceramic is the way to go in either case. Just have to find a solid place that does a good job. Thanks for the info.
Gotta know what kind of doof you’re talking to right? But you’re right a Ford 150 is better things 🙏🏽 Makes sense why your giving opinions on a Honda subreddit 🤓
Lol yea thats my work truck. I got other vehicles
You definitely dont know what youre talking about. No one lives on reddit dick head. I got more knowledge about mad cars. Dont like what i stated. Fan boy it sounds like to me

Jealous of what? Ive owned mad civic. Never hated on bro, gave my insight on what he should do if he wanted. You took shit upon yourself to go digging on shit and got butthurt about my comment lol. Sometimes a downvote and minding ya business goes along way. Its a community thread and he asked a question. Mad people commented also. And alot of us had common answers. But you got it. Enjoy the day! 🫡
“There’s a difference between people who like cars and actual enthusiasts” are you an enthusiast with a F150 and Tundra? 😂😂 oh and a previously owned civic that was probably wrecked or just stopped running most likely sub 09? But definitely Enjoy the day ! 🫡🫡🫡
You said all that just to get downvoted 😂😂 Upsetting. The “logic” is people like to make cars “their own” by doing small things that make them feel better while driving, having a sense of accomplishment in making small modifications. Remember not everyone is chasing speed, hense why the mods are almost always “cosmetic”. Not everyone is here trying to chase down and race every car that looks sporty like I’m sure you do Mr. Street Demon Fast Guy Advocate of The Car Community 😂😂🤡
Not necessarily. It just gives off that impression. But I went through the desire when I was in my early 20’s too. This issue has deep psychological roots embedded in consumerist ideology and pseudo-individualism. Now that I’m in my mid 30’s, I feel cringy about how I must have looked in my modded GTI. I had aftermarket rims, lowering springs, stickers, loud exhaust… I spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours on forums looking for my next mod and mentally picturing my car so that I could best match it to my ego-ideal. You’ll grow out of it. The best advice I can give you is to leave the car alone and enjoy it.
This is really the post that convinced me to leave the sub. I'm so sick of how toxic everyone is. This dude's just trying to get into it, he's new. Be fucking nice.
I don't get why people are like that. If they don't like it, they can just keep scrolling.
Well said I'm tired of offending people's build which consists of a brand new bone stock car with stickers on it.
They're literally asking for advice on what's best to get, not on what they have. Gatekeeping whiner lol
I literally wasn't talking about op what do u mean?
Black out the emblems
How does one go about this?
Second - do people get them wrapped or replaced? My dealership couldn’t even find (in their own inventory) a replacement emblem for my 2023. The letters in “CIVIC” are all individual, they didn’t have them in the parts catalogue.

Yep, that's it. Otherwise, it looks great and clean.

I agree with this guy. His mods are clean af.

I wrap my top black that came out nice
If it’s your daily I won’t recommend modding it outside of cosmetics, if it’s for “spirited” drives then go wild
It’s cvt it can’t handle anything beside cosmetic mods
Is a CVT bad or just not cut out for performance type driving?

Op is literally asking for advice…
And you’re telling him straight up don’t because you think these cars should have no mods. He asked what should he get, not if he should get any
Your point isn’t making sense. He’s asking about cosmetic mods, which I have done and support. By “real mods”, I very obviously mean performance, discouraging your recommendations for them.
Ahh yes, my apologies. I read the comment earlier in the day at work and scanned through it too fast. I still disagree but my apologies sir
Well, from my perspective, you’re voiding the warrant to still be a very slow car. It’s like paying $70k on a height boosting surgery to move from 5’3” to 5’4”. Lose a bunch for almost no benefit.
Why not?
Voiding warranty to still be slower than…. anything
True.
It's just a civic my guy
That’s what I’m saying
check out 717 project on youtube, he’s got a civic sport he’s done about everything that the aftermarket has for the 11th gen. i’m sure you’ll find something you like.
I own a 22 2.0l NA CVT hatchback in boost blue . I've sat at near redline at 147mph testing the top performance of this vehicle. the cvts can handle alot hell most Subarus are around 300HP, and all have CVTs or manual transmissions at this point . the only difference in this case is the 2.0l is not nearly as modded at a 1.5T they can withstand much more are boostable which the ECU on the 2.0 will not allow which is why many people say you're better off with a 1.5l or the SI or the 2.0l T Type R . you've got great brands like AXION PRL 27WON Ktunner and several others that provide great mods for this vehicle 1.5 or 2.0 . let me put you on real quick. and let me start by saying since you don't have the hatchback model if interested in a spoiler it's truly up to you I went with Hondas HPD Spoiler as I think it looks really good on the hatch for your model I would honestly prefer the trunk lid duck bill type or the SI type spoiler these cars do not need massive wings except for the Type R for its aerodynamics even tho it be lookin a bit goofy lol. cosmetic, we have the yofer body kit front lip [yofer front lip kit](https://swaautosports.com/products/2022-11th-gen-civic-yofer-4-pc-night-shadow-front-lip-painted) yofer side skirts [side skirts body kit](https://swaautosports.com/products/2022-11th-gen-civic-sedan-yofer-v2-night-shadow-side-skirts-painted?pr_prod_strat=jac&pr_rec_id=f0078dabe&pr_rec_pid=7584391954631&pr_ref_pid=7563222188231&pr_seq=uniform) blackking out door handles? how can i save this reply lol
For the front lip did you get it painted or did you get it in black?
Honestly kinda like it the way it is. Maybe a small wing, nothing too big or else it’ll look ricey. I dig the red.
Really good wheel locks
Spinners
A third pedal
15% tint all around, fog lights
Duckbill spoiler, front lip, sideskirts, coilovers, maybe some other performance mods if you want like a CAI (makes the car sound much cooler if nothing else)
As the owner of a nearly identical car, I think that’s too much for a new, non sporty trim of civic. I would/have just gone with spoiler and black emblems
Just copy and paste the same comment huh?
Drive it just the way it is.

This is the civic sub. Not the “how do I mod my civic to match my ego” sub.
None I like it but maybe the lights
TPE Doll in the passenger seat or Silicone if you can afford it unless you live in Kensington. Beautiful car as is man!
Spoiler, front lip, skirts, diffuser, sun shades
For a fun driving expierence I would say some decent tires and suspension tuning. Only cosmetic modifications I’d worry about rn is wheels but even then you don’t need em. Put your money into quilting parts also. Doesn’t have to be super expensive but don’t buy the cheapest you can find. I buy a lot of quality second hand parts for far below new prices
This is just my opinion and mine alone, whenever you can get either a wrap of your choice or paint protection film(clear) if you love the color. Second as everyone is saying black out the emblem. Don't black out your brake lights though ( makes it harder for other drivers to stop when you apply your breaks) And last if possible tint your windows 10% (all around excluding the front wind shield) the windshield 50% don't recommend anything darker will draw the attentions of the cop.
Lower it tastefully and enjoy
Looks dope the way it is but you could lower it. A ducktail spoiler
None
Just black emblems and you are done.
def lower it and put a low profile black duckbill or low profile spoiler on it
The car already looks great. The only thing I can think of would be some new wheels.
Could throw on a spoiler for a start simple but sharp great pick up best of luck in the future 🤞🏾
Bugatti body kit
Si rear lip. U can find them almost everywhere on amazon. Had a civic 1.5 hatch 2018 loved every second of it. Sold it just last month for a 2019 bmw 440. Dont buy a bmw. The lip adds a great touch to the back makes it looks more sporty from the sides. Great car man and color congrats!
Maybe a deck lid spoiler

Lol people on here butthurt because “modding” a cvt civic like itll change anything other than the standard thats repeated (tint, decent wheels, lowering springs, etc) Its not a type r or a si.
Ideally I suggested it on any colour car It protects the paint really well from fade.
Np bro Be safe!
Same to you be safe bro.
And after further review, you have a 09 Honda Fit 💀💀 and you are bashing this guy? 😂 Ohhhh man you have some soul searching to do 😂😂😂
Lol fun fact, i dont even own the fit anymore. Im on to better things beyond that. I respect the digging tho lmao
Gotta know what kind of doof you’re talking to right? But you’re right a Ford 150 is better things 🙏🏽 Makes sense why your giving opinions on a Honda subreddit 🤓
Lol yea thats my work truck. I got other vehicles You definitely dont know what youre talking about.

If your car gets any sexier, I’m taking my pants off and keeping them off.
Yellow koito foglamp, mugen grill, eibach soring, mugen visor
tinted windows/windshield, smoked out taillights
Get black covers for the door handles it’ll look so much cleaner, I have them on my ‘24 Accord and always get compliments on it
where can i get those?
Here’s a link I just found by looking it up they’re pretty much the same ones I have: https://a.co/d/1MJxwSd hope that helps 👍
that's a beautiful house is this in Texas? Looks like it maybe is

Absolutely none. Unless you want normal people to think you’re a tool.
i’m a tool for wanting to customize my car?
You can and potentially void certain warranties, so I’d start with cold intake mod and then cat back exhaust.
Upgrade to SI
a Porsche 911 Turbo.
i’m sure i said cosmetic…
Type-R wing 😜
change the tail lights . i just rubbed my balls and asshole all over the badges mirrors and windows on mine.
