I like that they keep the right balance between serious and light hearted tones. The show doesn't get bogged down, which I was afraid would happen with Miguel's injury. Another thing is that even after 3 seasons I am not sure what the show creators' political leanings are. It's really refreshing to see that they just mock everyone quite uniformly. Somewhat of a classic era Simpsons feel to it in that respect.

Yeah, the show realizes what it is. A ridiculous concept at best. I just love Johnney as a character: Johnney: I got you some pencils and paper. Do you guys still have trapper keepers? Robbie: what’s a rapper keeper? Johnney: I had one in high school with a fighter jet on it, it was badass. Johnney is such a great character.

Johnny’s insistence on still being a lovable 80’s asshole is fantastic. It’s all about hot babes and being badass.

I mean what else is there really?

It’s also does a great job of showing how circumstances mold people. In other words, no one is born inherently evil. The world just fucks you up along the way. Even so, we all have a chance at redemption. I have a feeling we will see the redemption of Kreese, which will be the most epic thing out of this series so far.

mikethemaster2012

Nah they're are natural born psychopath out there.

How do you think they'll redeem Kreese?

Defiant-Cloud-7171

I think theyll redeem kreese by making him turn on Silver and Barnes if either of them show up in season 4

Get him a body bag

Power Rangers is EXACTLY what came to mind with some of those fighting scenes and conflicts, lol! It works for the series, though. They know they came from a borderline cheesy 80s movie so they aren't afraid to lean into that. Really makes the shows very enjoyable.

If you told me a couple of years ago that one of my favorite shows on tv would be a karate kid sequel I’d have laughed at you. And yet here we are. I think the reason it is so good is that the cast and writers are very good at capturing that over the top 80s/90s movie fighting/drama while also embracing modern sensibilities and knocking holes in the logic of the ‘karate fixes everything’ nonsense. It also balances humor and real drama well. Johnny in particular is really damned funny. He’s such a fossil.

I just figured out how they should end the show....

VaughnillaIce

The show has the *perfect* amount of cheese, Honestly it’s amazing they balance it so well
