From their new base in Alaska, the X-Men raise a flag of defiance! Join Cyclops, Beast, Magneto, Psylocke, Kid Omega, Temper (formerly Oya), Magik and Juggernaut as they assemble against new forces, battling for the destiny and philosophy of the mutant species. Mutant business is their business. > >"It’s not just those three titles in this relaunch, there’s a lot!" MacKay shared at the panel. "\[My X-Men title\] is where we'll see the first inklings of what the X-Men will look like in 2024. I’m very excited for you guys to see it when it comes out. If you look at that line-up, they’re a group of people who are not well suited to integrating into the world. And in these books, we’ll see what that means and what it looks like going forward." >UNCANNY X-MEN -Written by Gail Simone & Art by David Marquez : On Sale 8/7 > >Outlaw heroes once again, the X-Men embark on a new mission! Making themselves at home in the Big Easy, the X-Men protect a world that hates and fears them! Join Rogue, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Jubilee, and Wolverine on explosive super hero adventures. Uncanny as ever, the X-Men are back to saving the day mutant-style! > >"I think X-Fans are special in that we identify with having something different about us...and you're going to feel that in this book, and what it means to have that thing about you that's different, or exceptional. We go deep into the emotional part of that," Simone told the crowd. > >"David Marquez is the perfect artist for this book," she continued. "He does amazing action, amazing character work, and he’s really excited about getting into the characters appearing in this book. I knew from the very first panel that this book was going to be super exciting and gorgeous. He just knows how to knock it out of the park!" >EXCEPTIONAL X-MEN - Written by Eve L. Ewing & Art by Carmen Carnero: On Sale 9/4 > >Mutantkind’s two greatest teachers mold the next generation of X-Men! Kate Pryde has returned home to Chicago following the war with Orchis. Having stepped away from the world of mutantdom, she is nevertheless called back into action as she crosses paths with a trio of new young mutants, Bronze, Axo, and Melee, who clearly need training and guidance. Unfortunately for Kate, Emma Frost thinks so as well! > >"Longtime fans of Kitty Pryde can count on the kinds of adventures you expect from her as a classic favorite, while I hope new and old readers alike will get to love this all-new team of young mutants," Ewing shared. "Kitty, the one-time kid sister figure of the X-Men, has to reckon with her own memories—good and bad—of being a child of Xavier as she navigates a role as leader and mentor for a new generation of mutants who are trying to make their way in a time of crisis." > >"I always try to strike a chord between appealing to veteran comics fans and new readers, but since so many people fell in love with the X-Men as teens and this book is about a team of young folks, that feels especially important to me here," she continued. "I hope that for some 13- or 14-year-old readers, this might be the first comic book they pick up. > >"Working on this series has been a ton of fun already, as Carmen Carnero's art is bringing so much dynamism to these pages and the entire X-team of writers is in a flurry sharing scripts and feedback and ideas," she added. >"The X-Men are fractured in the aftermath of the end of Krakoa, scattered across the globe without a central base of operation," Marvel Comics VP Executive Editor Tom Brevoort explained. "What that means in practice is that all three titles carrying the name X-MEN are core X-MEN series—they all center around one of the major aspects of what the team has been about at different points. This is very much by design. We want to field a wide assortment of X-titles with different styles and tones and approaches, an X-MEN book for virtually any taste."

Gamerguy230

Alaska? What’s the reasoning for there out of all places? Haven’t read the Rise and Fall issues yet.

WhiskeyT

That’s where Scott is from

r0botosaurus

Cyclops had family in Alaska back in the 80's Uncanny. It's where he lived after he retired and married Madelyne.

soulreaverdan

No idea yet, lots of small reasons but nothing we “know.”

youshouldtry14

I'm probably in the minority, but I'm glad to see Juggernaut on one of the teams. If he is written well, his interactions with the other X-men are usually great.

Independent_Ad_6348

We live in crazy times where the juggernaut is the most wholesome member in a team.

Gluv221

I really really like juggernaut when he is a sympathetic character and is well written h. Love to see it

ubiquitous-joe

Oh I don’t think most of us mind that at all. If anything that’s an example of some development being held onto instead of reset to 0.

PerfectZeong

Juggernaut turning good was absolutely a great turn for his character and should never have been briefly undone. It's an example of a character actually working to improve himself as a person and honestly I don't know why they don't draw the line between him and Xavier more clearly because as Xavier became more manipulative and morally grey, Cain was working to overcome the abuse that was the root of who he is. Good guy juggernaut honestly kicks ass as an honorary Mutant because he's willing to shed blood for the cause.

rrogido

I've been reading X-Men since issue 190 in the eighties and most of Cain's appearances that I remember from that time were more like your drunk friend from back in the day dropping by to PARTY and not realizing that you're not in that life anymore, than real villainy. I'm happy to see this direction for Juggernaut.

youshouldtry14

I agree, it was a great turn for his character. Probably one of the best 'redemption arcs' of any X-men related character.

PerfectZeong

Yeah the X men have a habit of recruiting their enemies, sometimes when it doesn't make logical sense like sabertooth or apocalypse but with Juggernaut it feels so very earned. He acknowledges why he was wrong and understands why he did it, because his father was a monster and a bully and it twisted him inside. Then he proceeds to work to break that cycle and become a defender of the defenseless to try and ensure it doesn't happen to anyone else. Its honestly beautiful.

Barabus33

Where are you seeing the lineups?

youshouldtry14

One of the press releases had the line ups for the 'big 3' X-titles

Barabus33

I never know where these press releases are. I feel like I miss all of it and then I'm surprised every few months when all of my X-titles are replaced with new ones.

youshouldtry14

"Krakoa is no more… but the X-Men fight on! Mutant business is their business." The part of the press release about the team Juggernaut is on

Barabus33

Thanks, the other part of these announcements I'm not a fan of is it always feels like spoilers, but when all of my titles are cancelled every six months how am I supposed to avoid them?

youshouldtry14

Some of them do give way too much away. I was surprised this one didn't give more away.

ContraryPython

Are we finally gonna have an X-Force comic that doesn’t drag its feet for years just to finish one storyline?

AporiaParadox

My guess is that Cable might be leading the team again.

Blitzhelios

Cable, Deadpool and domino I imagine the old squad back together

JackFisherBooks

I'd be in favor of that. But I think Mystique is going to lead this time.

AporiaParadox

I hope not, she's a horrible person nobody should ever trust. If she's leading, it better be because she's posing as someone else.

JackFisherBooks

Well...that's also something she could totally do. And honestly, I think that would make for an even better X-Force premise. If Mystique is leading the team, but nobody knows its her, that could be really interesting.

spoiderdude

Are we finally gonna have an X-Force comic from someone that knows how to draw feet?

AoO2ImpTrip

An X-Force title with competent people? That's what I'm looking forward to because Krakoa Era X-Force were TERRIBLE at their jobs.

moccawimba

Just sent Ben Percy back to DC & let him write Bat books lol

Blitzhelios

Phoenix and storm are probably the best choice for solo x men titles that are not wolverine. Phoenix could focus on jean finally embracing the pheonix force like krakoa is teasing and could also involve rachel which would give a fun switching profile. Storm is the only x men really outside of wolverine who has a big enough supporting cast and villain roster to hold a solo title and has history in other parts of marvel meaning they wouldn't be stuck in the classic trap of only mutant stories. NYX i guess is because of lauras anniversary i imagine that will be laura and kamala's title.

AporiaParadox

NYX and X-Factor are the biggest surprises.

Blitzhelios

I kinda hope its david era style x factor full investigation mode. NYX isn't a shock really it was lauras debut title and its her anniversary as a character soon and could involve characters like kamala.

Embarrassed_Piano_62

Does NYX stand for New York X?

Blitzhelios

Yes

SixIsNotANumber

That classic X-Factor logo made me smile, NGL

JWC123452099

Classic logos all around. Unfortunately Storm and Phoenix don't really fit the overall aesthetic... Though I will agree the 2000s Storm Logo looks much better than the what passed for the 90s one.

Windows2099

Do they have the rosters for these teams

Holmcroft

Not yet - which is a shame, as it’s where most of my interest lies

Techster17

Overall this is a solid lineup, for the new era and the main 3 X-Books have me quite excited mainly based on the creative teams. I think the cast could be more interesting but there's room for those to either change with time or grow on me. Honestly only real criticism is everything is mostly white but you could say that about the majority of Krakoa books too.Very curious to see what's going on with Magneto now being in a chair, maybe a consequence of overexerting himself against Orchis? Kind of a shame not to see some of the big Krakoa players like Doug or Synch front and centre but I could see Doug fitting well on X-Factor regardless of how they choose to play it and Synch could easily fit on X-Force, as a side character in Storm or if the Wolverine book is about Laura somewhere in there X-Factor and X-Force are interesting considering how they became full-on government organisations during Krakoa I'm curious about what roles they'll fill in a post-Krakoa world. Phoenix, Storm and Wolverine all make lots of sense since your giving the arguably 3 most popular X-Men solos. I imagine Storm will have her be the Arakko ambassador with Earth. Phoenix basically confirms what we've been building towards, "now and forever" baby and Wolverine could honestly be anything but hopefully is a Laura book. The only one I'm clueless about is NYX my main hope is that it's a spiritual successor to District X

[deleted]

NYX would make more sense as a Laura book.

ktjah

What does it even stand for? (Genuine question)

katarr

It was a short lived 7 issue series in the early 2000s set in New York's District X (thus, NYX). It contained mostly brand-new characters, and included adult themes. It's mostly well known these days because issue #3 was the first appearance of Laura Kinney (aka X-23). I actually picked up the series as it came out, and so I owned that issue. It was stolen from me when it was worth about $40. Sometimes, when I want to be sad, I look up how much it's worth now.

codithou

I just looked and I’m sad for you now too.

katarr

Yeah, it was the unicorn of a book where everything lined up so that it ended up being worth money. That combination of rarity because no one was picking up the book, and importance because she ended up being a major character.

Pugplays430

New York X-men?

Slowmobius_Time

Didn't know it was shorthand for something else, I thought it was to do with the Goddess of Night, Nyx

BrainWav

The X is slightly larger than NY, so it's likely meant to mean "New York X-Men". Not that it can't *also* be alluding to the goddess. As someone else explained, it could possibly be a callback to Laura's first appearance too.

Chip_Marlow

The less association Laura can have with the NYX title the better

E_bytheway

I agree it would be nice to see some of the recent stars front and center.. but I'm also thinking one or 2 of these main title rosters will have a couple returning faces within the first arc or 2 so I'm excited for it all.

BootsWithDaFuhrer

MacKay is doing X-men??? Man he is a shooting star over there. Congrats to him

Saito09

A bit underwhelming. Solid teams, but maaaaan i dont have like 10% of the excitment i had when HoXPoX was announced. This looks very X-Men Gold/Blue back when Lemire and Guggenheim were spearheading things.

M4TTV33

Perfect time to get out.

BiDiTi

...except it’s Simone and MacKay. That’s not an insignificant distinction.

JoshDunkley

I met Gail at a signing at a small local shop a couple months ago, just a couple days after the rumors of her taking over x-men hit the internet. I asked her about it, and of course she denied it at the time, but did give me a wink. Glad to see she really did get the gig. She was super nice to my kids and I, and signed some stuff for us.

NukeTheWhales85

I've been out of the X-scene for a good chunk of time, but the write-up for the new Uncanny run sounds like fun. I get the impression that the x-men could use some MotW style adventures, and time to scale things back a bit.

eejizzings

The retro logos are pretty blatant messaging lol Superhero comics love to take 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

Bassaluna

they don't even take the 1 step forward

Agreeable-Tank4600

That's the way it is they try something new then they go back to something more familiar.

MotherFuckerJones88

I know this hasn't dropped yet so I will withhold judgement. But what Hickman was special. It had been years since I visited a LCS regularly before Krakoa. It literally rekindled my love of comics.

Officialwettissue

Got a bad feeling we’re just gonna go back to the years leading up to krakoa. Extremely bland and forgettable.

superschaap81

Nostalgia bait status quo incoming. Hitting that 90's aesthetic for everyone that somehow convinced Marvel to do? Krakoa will be a mere footnote in X-Men history now, after declaring it the biggest thing in their history when it launched, since Giant Sized in the 70's, AOA in the 90's and Morrison in the 2000's,

JackFisherBooks

That's my concern too. These lineups and teams feel all over the place. It's like they just put a bunch of names in a hat and randomly drew them. And after building Krakoa, establishing their own society and culture, to just go back to this...it feels like Hickman's vision is being thrown out completely.

BiDiTi

I mean, the Adjectiveless X-Men team is *very* clearly a callback to the Extinction Team from Gillen’s Uncanny. It was before Hickman completely revolutionized the X-Men status quo, of course: The premise was that the X-Men had decided to withdraw from Human Society and form a utopian island nation.

StoryApprehensive777

Literally everything about this except for the artists and maybe Eve Ewing screams ‘bland, boring, safe’.

TheOvercusser

If I'm being honest, the entirety of Marvel editorial leaves a lot to be desired recently. There's nothing OTHER than the X-books that even remotely interests me. Making it worse is that the Krakoan age was only ever going to be a one way path... I knew from the first book how it was going to end, but given that the entire story was about hubris, you can't even say that the humans who were always afraid of mutants are unjustified in their fears anymore. And look at the entire Spider-Man fiasco. Wasn't enough that editorial split Peter and MJ up. They had to have her shack up in a time warp with another dude. BUT she also has to be in virtually every book he's in, so now you've just got wasted pages of awkward bullshit and uncomfortable side glances in each edition. Peter Parker is a loser. Peter Parker will always be a loser. That's the role Marvel has decided for him. Doesn't matter how hard he tries, his Spider-Sissyphus ass is gonna get rolled over by that rock. This shit isn't more mature storytelling than the DC side. It's just bleak for the bleakness' sake. At some point, you've got to allows your heroes to have and hold a fucking W or why even bother?

CurtWave

I’m just starting to realize they are throwing out the entire krakoa baby out with the bath water. Wow. I assumed there would still be some remanent of the mutant nation they made.

MotherFuckerJones88

And what about Arrako/Mars? Is that gonna be gone too?

This_Appointment_349

I imagine the Storm book will touch on that

E_bytheway

Yup, I also think X Factor and X Force may incorporate some of those Arakko characters and also Brevoort mentioned in his newsletter the plan is to eventually have as many series as we had in the krakoa era, so I would imagine there is more than even the other titles they gave us logos for.

wpisano

I love the X-Men, but I really do hope that there's not going to be 9 ongoing books. There's no way I could afford that. I'm happy for this announcement, though.

superschaap81

Dude it's X-Men. It will START with 9 books, then branch out from there. LOL. Never fails.

Maleficent_Entry_979

So true lol!

bomberman12

Honestly really interested in the Storm solo series. Cause I feel there’s a lot of ground you can cover with her and just really never given a genuine solo run. If Percy is sticking with Wolvie then so am I, love his solo run on the character. I have no clue if any or all of those team books will scratch that itch like the initial Hickman run did to get me back into the mutant fold after being away for a while.

[deleted]

I don’t know a ton of Gail’s work anyone got recs?

AporiaParadox

Birds of Prey, Secret Six, Wonder Woman, Deadpool, and Domino. She also did Red Sonja if you're into that.

Remarkable-fall-

Birds of prey and secret six for dc!! Or domino and the variants for marvel are supposed to be good!!

Blitzhelios

Domino is fantastic and variant is great as well even if the ending is a bit meh

wilyquixote

She's great. She's pretty versatile, but does relationships, humor, and traditional superheroics particularly well, and seems drawn to unusual or underappreciated characters. She reminds me a lot of Mark Waid; she's interested in how the characters interact with each other and their world, often in ways that haven't been commonly explored to the point she takes over, often by looking at small details or asking thoughtful questions. *Secret Six* is her best, her runs on *Birds of Prey* and *Wonder Woman* are probably the most well-known, and her short dip into *Deadpool* and its short-lived reboot *Agent X* are awesome.

StoryApprehensive777

Skipping it.

ThesaurusRex_1025

A return ro NYX? Yes! I'm hoping for a NYX/District X mix

OfficialPepsiBlue

So I have like no interest in recent X comics and get most of my info on them from random Reddit posts but… they’re really letting Beast back on a team? Isn’t he super evil now?

Aubergine_Man1987

They brought back good Beast by resurrecting him from a point in the timeline way before he went off the deep end.

NukeTheWhales85

The sheer absurdity of this being the correct answer, really gets to the root of what I love about comic books. It doesn't matter how convoluted or ridiculous, as long as it's potentially interesting to read, it's fair game.

PineapplePhil

Back to the status quo, can’t say I’m very interested in that.

snikt6384

I'm usually down for whatever and not incredibly hard to please. McKay and Simone are the only things that have me interested so far. Visually and in terms of what seems to be the status quo? I'm pretty apathetic at the moment. We'll see. Even though Krakoa went pretty Game of Thrones S7 on me with Fall of X, I still consider it a tough act to follow. And this follow looks really uninspiring at the moment.

NukeTheWhales85

The Simone title is probably the one I'm most interested in. I'm really hoping not to have to chase random Wolverine issues to keep up.

Hemingwavvves

Yeah I don’t want to be pessimistic but I am not feeling this at all

Warm_Veterinarian803

Since stepping away from the "X-Men" comics post-"House of X," my engagement with the series has waned, and the recent announcement of a relaunch has not reignited my enthusiasm. The approach seems to lean heavily on nostalgia, likely in tandem with the buzz around the upcoming "X-Men '97" series. This strategy, though safe, feels like a missed opportunity to innovate within the franchise. The "X-Men" relaunch appears to be retracing old steps rather than forging new paths, which strikes me as a creative impasse. While the Krakoa storyline under Jonathan Hickman's stewardship marked a bold departure and revitalized the narrative landscape, the forthcoming relaunch seems to lack that spirit of uniqueness and creativity. T he makeup of the team rosters really highlights my hesitations, leaning heavily into the comfort of the familiar rather than the excitement of the new. With so many characters pulled from the earlier days of the comics and only a handful representing the diverse spectrum of today's world, it feels like a missed opportunity. The X-Men have always been a mirror to society's struggles and triumphs, a chance to delve into the nuanced discussions around identity, acceptance, and change. This approach, however, seems to look backwards rather than forwards, leaving me less eager for what I had hoped might be a dynamic new beginning. Furthermore, the cyclical nature of retcons and occasionally bewildering character arcs in recent years has compounded my skepticism. Such narrative choices can alienate both longtime fans and newcomers looking for a coherent entry point into the X-Men comics.

RiskAggressive4081

If not an X-Men leader I hope Lorna my gurl is the leader of X-Factor. She has been in every group bar two the original and 2002. She is 'the girl' of the team as much as Jean,Janet Van Dye and Sue Storm are to their teams.

Slowmobius_Time

Wolverine solo again shocker

ChildOfChimps

Yeah, God forbid one of the best solo hero books Marvel has continues. He’s one of the most popular characters ever. The only characters more popular are Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man. We definitely shouldn’t give him a book.

NukeTheWhales85

I'm more interested in Logan with the rest of the Uncanny line up, than another solo line. It shouldn't be ignored that part of his popularity is influenced by the amount of stories he's had, so while there's little reason not to have more Wolverine titles, I'd prefer if they used his popularity to push the group he'll be in, and give someone else a little solo time to build a fandom of their own.

ChildOfChimps

He’ll always have a book that’s successful, it’s a given. So he’s not holding anyone else from getting a book. I’m definitely buying Phoenix and Storm, too.

NukeTheWhales85

Fair enough, I just think using that start power to get a good team book going won't be as easy if he's competing with himself.

ChildOfChimps

The name Uncanny will sell some, Simone will sell others, and Marquez has his fans. Plus Rogue, Nightcrawler, Gambit, and Jubilee. Honestly, I like Wolverine on his own more than the next person, so I wouldn’t be mad if he wasn’t in Uncanny. I probably wouldn’t buy it, but it wouldn’t bother me.

NukeTheWhales85

I like him more in groups, but it really depends who he's teamed up with. The potential character interactions, and moral quandries he brings to teams, makes for interesting stories.

ChildOfChimps

I just find him interesting in general, but I’m biased.

Slowmobius_Time

There's such a thing as oversaturation And between the sabertooth war and his Krakoa presence in nearly every single book including his own have left my utterly bored with the character Who ever thought we needed him surfing an Adamantium board was absolutely dreaming

ChildOfChimps

And yet both books that starred him are closing out the Krakoa Era. You don’t have to like Wolverine, but Wolverine is money. He got his own ten issue event in the middle of the Krakoa Era that set the stage for the next evolution of the line. Sabretooth War is arguably the best thing about Fall Of X, especially with the way they’re exploring who him and Sabretooth’s relationship in an entirely new way. There’s enough of us (he’s my favorite Marvel character and has been since 1991) willing to buy multiple Wolverine books and there have been for decades. They aren’t going to leave him off the table. Even when he was dead, we got Old Man Logan in a solo and multiple team books. He’s a sales magnet. I get not liking him, he’s overexposed, all of that. But that’s just to you.

Slowmobius_Time

Yeah the end of Krakoa hasn't been a bang as much as a wet sloppy fart (and saying it's the best bit of fall of X just shows how poor the entire event as a whole has been) Old Man Logan was infinitely better than the Krakoa era and many other because it was different and wasn't just another wolverine book Me and others are hoping Laura is the eponymous wolverine of that book even though it is unlikely Its not that I don't like him, I just dislike how oversaturated and safe he is to go with, despite it being boring and predictable if not a retread if something come before (like sabertooth war has been) and it's not just to me, hes the most heavily utilised character in a roster of dozens of interesting and more unique characters

ChildOfChimps

I’m biased, so I really love Sabretooth War, but I get why other people don’t. He’s basically Marvel’s Batman - they put him in everything. So, I get why you feel that way. I even groan about him. Occasionally (lol). I loved Old Man Logan so much. The Lemire stuff was the best, but the Brisson issues and Dead Man Logan were excellent as well. I’m not a Laura person - mostly because she’s the younger generation’s Wolverine. Like, I grew up and watched Logan transform from berserker loner with a heart of gold to the wandering ronin to the most important mutant in the Marvel Universe. Laura is basically repeating the old story beats I’ve already read, so I just sit her books out. Have nothing against her and I’d love for her to have her own book, because I know her fans love her and they deserve to have what I had. Plus, she can actually sustain a solo series, especially if they get the right creative team. Seriously, give Gail Simone and David Marquez a Laura Wolverine book. Can you imagine that? They’d make a new superstar.

Slowmobius_Time

Because it's so tired and old, it's just the same old Sabertooth stuff Except this time with multiversal alternates, like that concept isn't played out to death currently It just comes off as tone deaf and repetitive to me

ChildOfChimps

I mean, it’s playing their relationship entirely differently than before. Part Three was all about Sabretooth’s longing for his old friend. Wolverine and Sabretooth’s relationship has always been more than a vendetta. Sabretooth has long just wanted Wolverine to admit they were the same because he misses his comrade. The last issue, part five had him admit as much and that he wanted the intimacy they had - which he personally classified as closer than lovers - back. The end of the issue has him transform Wolverine in Team X Logan with a machine in Forge’s secret lab. There is way more to this than “Sabretooth wants to hurt Wolverine because it’s fun”. This is Sabretooth trying to get his Logan back. I’ve been reading these stories for over thirty years now, since Hama and Silvestri did the sewer battle where Sabretooth tried to trick Wolverine into thinking Sabretooth was his father. This is very different from any thing else ever.

BrainWav

I thought I'd only have to add Simone's Uncanny to my pull list, but all 3 teams have characters I like. *sigh* Not liking the complete lack of Laura though. Unless she's in NYX, which would be a deep cut callback.

mytoynhobbypackrat

Update those pull list! X-men #1 7/10/24 Uncanny X-Men #1 8/7/24 Exceptional X-Men #1 9/4/24

RiskInternational526

Will this be considered a new 'starting point' for the X-Men franchise?

lechampion4ever

I had just seen the first three. I didn’t see any of the bottom ones. But I’m so excited for another X-Factor comic. I wish I knew what the roster was gonna be, though.

vividreveries

It's very reminiscent of the Guggenheim era X-Men in idea, relying on the tired 90s nostalgia. They are playing very safe for MCU/97' synergy. But I love the writers that we got so far so I'll be giving it a chance. It's hard not to think that this is a good jumping off point ngl.

JackFisherBooks

After everything that was built and achieved with Krakoa, this feels like a major downgrade. Still love that Storm and Phoenix are getting their own solo series. And I'm interested to see how they're going to do a NYX series, given how dark the original was. But this whole lineup feels like a major regression from the past 5 years of X-Books.

periodic_disturbance

Wait a minute, does this mean that the Krakoan era of Jonathan Hickman is over? I've just started reading X of Swords and intend to read all the way through Fall of X.

theafterdeath

Yeah, Krakoa is over.

3xploitr

Question for the veterans. Is this the first time Kitty Pryde is going to mentor her own team? Sounds awesome to me!

LondonSan

Where's Colossus at? :( My fave X-man, alas no one's been able to write the character as well since Claremont first left (with the exception of Whedon during his short run) Ice-Man and Storm are missing, but I see Storm's getting her own solo book.

FunBench5795

hopefully it’s more streamlined and easier to read then the kronos books. i really tried to read and like them, but i could keep up

E_bytheway

Not 1 issue has been read yet and despite us having a full year to prepare for the end of Krakoa, it's amazing how negative some of the comments are towards this. I understand some resentment, and others seems like yall wouldn't be happy no matter what they said. If they announced these SAME CREATIVE teams and Rosters and simply based them all on Krakoa.. regardless of whether staying on Krakoa even makes sense for any of the characters 4 months from now a lot of detractors would be eating up it up saying this is the greatest thing ever. I get it, I know it's cool to say NOTHING for the franchise worked in the Decade prior to Hickman but can we just relax and actually drop the biased and extremely unoriginal everything is going downhill act lol

RiskAggressive4081

If not an X-Men leader I hope Lorna my gurl is the leader of X-Factor. She has been in every group bar two the original and 2002.

TriscuitCracker

Wow, MacKay, Ewing and Simone, very nice!

InvestmentOk7181

So Fall of X era is done/almost done? Almost time for my grand Krakoa read

Mean_Cyber_Activity

No sync, bishop or prodigy?

holyfaith

Finally, something to get me out of reading comics

I am very glad that none of these are the mansion in upstate New York. Sure, everything else is very “back to basics” as Marvel likes to say on any book that follows a different take, but it’s at least not as blatant as expected. NYX coming back is actually kind of shocking. NYX was always this weird book that was peak mid-2000s in that it had edgy and transgressive content (main character having that cover where she’s sucking on a rave pacifier while tripping on drugs, Laura as a child prostitute for some god forsaken reason) but the comic itself barely touched on those things and was more about homelessness and intrigue. Maybe this is like X-Men Red where volumes 1 and 2 have nothing to do with each other (vol. 1 is a color, the other is Mars), but the Krakoa era really did not do right by Laura and Gaby and having them take the NYX crew to their house on Rosevelt Island would be a nice full circle. So uh… what is this X-Factor book going to be? Is it going to be the O5? Probably not considering they’re split between the core books. Is Peter David coming back for another Madrox / Investigations book? Maybe considering his return to writing Maestro books after swearing off Hulk Work. The Leah Williams book that lasted 10 issues makes me think it’s not a new concept wrapped in an old name. The Phoenix is the most boring cosmic force in Marvel. It was played out by long before AvX, and it was a bad reoccurring plot in Aaron Avengers. I will be shocked if they get blood from the stone and find a new and interesting slant, regardless of who is the host. If the rumors are true and Capullo is on Wolverine it will be worth it for the art, but I feel like it and X-Force will be treading familiar ground regardless. Cable + Deadpool + Domino + Wolverine + Violence. The Storm book is a wildcard and will be entirely dependent on the pitch and the creative team. I would say she has the most space to work with, but her history is all “ongoing” books that never got more than 11 issues, so best of luck.
