I have sipped on all of them haha. My favorite is the 1792 full proof so far. I tend to prefer very sweet/syrup-y bourbons and the 1792 delivers on that profile. The ECPB is solid, I just don’t find that it has quite enough sweetness to balance the oak and the spice. It would probably make a killer old fashioned though. I was hoping (probably wishful thinking) that it would be more along the lines of an EC barrel proof release. It’s close, but not quite as sweet as those.
OESK, so it’s 75% corn, 20% rye, 5% malted barley. As someone who strongly prefers ryed bourbons and high rye bourbons I was very happy to get this one!
Perfectly priced on the Full proof! I paid that, before tax about a year ago. The barrel strength pricing is hit or miss, I have seen 79.99 and up before tax, I don’t think we’ll see 69.99 before tax again, great scores and cheers! 🥃

So, the barrel pick days I think happen a few times a year for VA ABC? I’m relatively new to bourbon, but that’s my understanding. Honestly, there weren’t that many people out trying to hunt today on this drop. I got to the first store 45 minutes early (9:15am), but I could have shown up at open and gotten the same things. Got to subsequent stores in absolutely no rush. Checked for 4R online around 11:30 and was still available at a store near me so picked that up as well. They’re all good, but the 1792 is my favorite so far.

I find va abc picks to be mostly on flavor profile. About average since they aren’t actually sending folks to make picks unless something has changed.
It matters more what you think, but those should all be pretty good. 🌹🌹🌹🌹 are some of my favorites.

Depending on where in VA you are, the total wine in Laurel, MD has 1792 full proof store pick for $55. Might be a hike for ya though!

I've had VA ABC picks of all these before. SiBs or not, VA ABC pickers seem to have a profile I generally agree with. Nothing great though.
