It was the most emotionally moving thing I have experienced. My mom has been a dead head for my whole life and this was a way for me to step into her world. I don't know how much longer she has and this was a bucket list item. We went on her 57th birthday which might be her last due to small cell lung cancer.
I know my reason for going was quite unique but it was the most amazing thing I have ever seen.
I saw your post about trying to get rid of your ticket before the show - super happy you ended up going and truly enjoying it.
I'm going on Friday and to say I am excited is an extreme understatement.
If you aren't familiar with the story of Box of Rain and why Phil Lesh wrote it, I would suggest looking it up - I think you might find it as another good step into the Grateful Dead world in regards to you and your mom.
Sending good vibes and positivity for a recovery.
I went for opening night. It was, by far, the most amazing entertainment experience of my life! If you can make just one show I highly encourage to do that. You won’t regret it, the casino maybe, but not the show
I’m 48 and have been to hundreds of concerts, seeing more bands than I can count. Saw Dead and Co for two shows at Sphere last weekend and it was one of the greatest concert experiences of my life. The band was in amazing form and the Sphere is absolutely a one of a kind experience. Not just visually. The acoustics are on another level. I would absolutely go again!
Did 108 night 1, 308 night 2 and 104 tonight. Go on a Thursday and get anywhere in section 104 to 108 row 20 or closer (to avoid overhang above). See the band up closer and all the visuals too (neck might hurt after from looking up at everything haha)
We stayed at Tuscany where Shakedown is and good deals Wednesday and Thursday nights on rooms. Live Dead cover bands in the casino after the shows and fun cool people hanging out and late night dining if needed. Few restaurants on site too. About a mile from the Sphere so walkable after the show if taxis hard to get.
as long as not under the overhang in the upper 100s, top priority should be getting closer to center... but there is really no bad seats... floor to top of 400s is all great in their own way.
The graphics are not what makes the shows good. It’s the band. I was so blown away by the music and the sound. Can close your eyes the whole time and it’s still worth it
It was the best concert I’ve ever seen in 30 years of concerts.
You asked the question which means you have real doubts.
If that’s the case don’t go.
Or solve the doubt before August and the residency ends.
Good luck.
Same. I really have no words. One of the best times of my life. The music, the venue, watching how much fun they're all having...just take my money because I'm going back.
Yes try to come Wednesday and leave Friday. Cheaper airfare / hotel and tickets are easier to get for Thursday. Also the strip is less crowded. I had a blast for a one show solo trip. Ellis island is reasonable and walking distance. Everyone needs to do at least 1
I’m going to agree with the guy who had the tin man steel cock comment.
Yes, it’s worth it. Three nights for me and I hope to be back in August…
Met a few folks here who didn’t agree though. Pre-show some folks told us they thought the boys were just a Dead cover band at this point. (What!!?!?)
Yes. 100%. And there are seats along the sides in 101 & 110 that are about the lowest price you can get in the door, and they happen to be GREAT seats. Try to get row 20 or lower, but even 24 or higher can be great. So close to the band.
Yes. But it's Vegas, 108 degrees. It's a venue with 20K attendees surrounding by casinos and opportunists who will gladly roll you. You'll have a blast, but be mindful of where you are. Drink LOTS of electrolytes and water. Have fun.
Depends. If you saw the Dead back in the day and think you will get the same experience, that’s going to be a no. If you go in with the mindset that it’s Dead and Co. with intense visuals and haptics, then yes, it’s worth it.
If you can find a place to lay your head, and you can afford airfare, go! Miracles are easy to come by if you poke around, and you can buy tickets day-of if you need to
Yes Tickets the day of the show are going for under face value, btw…. Even before
I’ve been on the bus since ‘77, and the one thing I won’t say on my death bed is “dang it! I shouldn’t have gone to so many dead shows!”
One billion percent. I can promise this: you'll want to go a dozen more time but if that simply isn't feasible I recommend seated tickets with unobstructed views.
We did one night of GA and one night in section 205. Both experiences were absolutely worth it, but we all agreed that if we had to choose only one — seats are the way to go. The haptics during Drum/Space was an indescribable experience!

As a person who can’t afford to do a Vegas Sphere show at all, “…to do just one?” brings this question to a level of unintelligible I can’t deal with. My brain literally can’t deal with the premise.
I flew in from Indy for the shows last weekend, and they were all fantastic. I know this has been discussed at length already, but I wasn't prepared for just how incredible it actually is. That said, I passed on Phish in April because I could only get tix for one night. I just couldn't see going through all that hassle for one night. If I'm already paying for the flight, and work isn't an issue, I'm gonna figure out a way to stay for the run. Driving? Sure. Fuck yeah. I'd go for one night if that's absolutely all I could do.
We did one show and paid way too much through Ticketmaster,.... Was it worth it?!? Not really because since that one show we have been jonesing to return, it disrupts our thoughts daily. See are starting to see money as future sphere tickets, downloaded every ticket app in hope of finding cheaper tickets. We spend our waking hours praying to the gods of StubHub. Every notification is a potential ticket, every app store a treasure trove. It's a beautiful kind of torment, really.
Ever since that magical night, our lives have been a waking nightmare fueled by the desperate need for more. Need that cash to feed that jones!
As if you haven’t gotten enough feedback to the positive already, let me just pile on. Yes, yes, yes. We just did this last Thursday and Friday shows. The 80(ish) year old man beside me had tears in his eyes and kept saying “I can’t believe this, it’s amazing!” His son said after the show “I never thought I’d say this but Ticketmaster could have charged more for this”.
Do it, find a way, and do it.
Yes yes and yes again, was also only able to catch one show and holy smokes was it mind blowing, the boys are on fire. Brought my brother for his first show and he got it. Unreal experience
oh 100% yes, especially if you're flying in day of show and leaving early morning next day, you won't be alone! I did it twice to catch some saturday shows and I will do it again. however many times I can afford to.
You won't regret it!
My wife and I would have to fly in with our 6 month old daughter, where her grandmother will meet us and hang with us for a few days so she can watch the baby at night while we go to the concert. We’d likely just do one concert.. but that seems absurd, essentially we’d be spending well over $1000 for one concert. Not to mention we can’t do any direct flights so we’ll have to do 7hr of flying each way with our little girl all for this concert. We LOVE love love this band btw. But we’re also planning a trip to Italy or Greece later this year; is it worth cannibalizing so much of our funds for this one night? I’m sure everyone will say yeah but it is a hard decision. We’re well aware this is likely a once in a lifetime concert experience as well
Thankfully i have miles and am able to get a room cheaply as i have some other credits. Also have family responsibilities…going to fly in and see the show and go back the next day…
My husband and I did something kind of like what you’re thinking! We have a 3.5 year old, we flew in and met my father and sister in law there, we paid for their hotel (we got an airbnb with two bedrooms, they shared one and my husband, kiddo and I had the other so they would be in the same space to watch him. Yes, it was a big money dump and I really had zero interest in being in Las Vegas but honestly it was the best time I’ve had since before the pandemic if not ever before. It was exhausting but I don’t regret a moment… and we made $1200 on the slots so it helped the financial pain a lot lol.
Wow making $1200 on the slots is AMAZING haha I’m so happy for y’all. Yeah we will likely end up making the jump, if he ecstatic if we broke even by winning money gambling. My wife and I run our own store and it’s hard getting someone to cover the whole time we’re gone and we have to be super careful about where our money goes. But we never do anything together as a couple anymore. It’s always working working working. Anyway, I appreciate the story, I think we should follow your lead. Did you only do one night?
Yup, only one! And yeah since we had the kid we haven’t been able to really let loose like we used to, we have no family or dependable overnight childcare nearby so this was our chance and it was really really worth it for our relationship.
Does the tin man have a sheet metal cock?
It’s not rocket appliances
Thank you for aluminating how fun this could be. Ore at least encouraging it.
This is a Ricky-ism, no?
100%
You know what? Maybe.
Oil can?
Not only that, he has sheet metal balls too.
Does a one legged duck swim in circles?
Excuse me, but despite the name, the tin man is packing a steel rod down there
Putting this one in the rolodex
Does Stevie Wonder pee on his shoes ?
YES

I’m so sorry to hear that about your mother but am glad that you got to share a Dead & Company @ Sphere experience together.
I saw your post about trying to get rid of your ticket before the show - super happy you ended up going and truly enjoying it. I'm going to look up that story. Thank you for the good vibes.
Just a heads up - it will likely pull on your heart strings.
One is infinitely better than none
100% yes. Incredible experience.
went to 2 shows - going back in august. it is 100% worth it. deadhead disneyland, go enjoy it!!
I went for opening night. It was, by far, the most amazing entertainment experience of my life! If you can make just one show I highly encourage to do that. You won’t regret it, the casino maybe, but not the show

100%
No question
Looking at section 305. Is it better to be at the back or front of the section?
Front. But likely anything will be good. I had 209 second row and it was perfect.
I was in 409 and my mind was blown.
305 and 307 are great sections. Try as close to the front as you can. Go to a Thursday show. Hotels are 3-5x cheaper on Thurs then Fri or sat.
Yeah planning on August 1. Celebrating mine and Jerry’s birthdays ;-)
It’s a Thursday:)
Can imagine this being very very special
Does 307 have the sound board in it?
305 is insanely good anywhere in it, front would be better though.
Front of the 300s, near an aisle should be perfect.
Did 108 night 1, 308 night 2 and 104 tonight. Go on a Thursday and get anywhere in section 104 to 108 row 20 or closer (to avoid overhang above). Go
Absolutely worth it.
Do it
Worth every penny. The best live music venue in the world.
You already know.
yeah, im used to doing multiple shows though lol. Looks like the graphics repeat though so probably wont miss much
The graphics are not what makes the shows good. It’s the band. I was so blown away by the music and the sound. Can close your eyes the whole time and it’s still worth it
absolutely, drums/space was worth the ticket alone
Absolutely! I think this run will be the last time you’ll see the band. The whole thing felt like a big goodbye to me!
It was the best concert I’ve ever seen in 30 years of concerts. You asked the question which means you have real doubts. If that’s the case don’t go. Or solve the doubt before August and the residency ends. Good luck.
Im all booked lol
Yes.
You will not regret it
I’m going solo 7/13. Flying in that day, flying out at 5:30 the next morning. Floor ticket. Can’t wait
So....I went on Thursday. Only planned to do one show. I am now back home and deciding which weekend to do next. Bye bye money!
Thursday was the best show I’ve ever seen. Blown away.
Same. I really have no words. One of the best times of my life. The music, the venue, watching how much fun they're all having...just take my money because I'm going back.
Everyone’s financial situation is different, but if you’re lucky enough to be able to afford to go, go.
Buy the ticket, take the ride.
Went to 2 going back in July because it was that good
Yes try to come Wednesday and leave Friday. Cheaper airfare / hotel and tickets are easier to get for Thursday. Also the strip is less crowded. I had a blast for a one show solo trip. Ellis island is reasonable and walking distance. Everyone needs to do at least 1
Yes, beware you will want to say fuck financial responsibilities and buy more weekend tickets immediately
Do it! No ragrets! Haha just got back to hotel room from night 3 of this weekend’s run. You will love it
100000% hell yea it’s worth it
I’m going to agree with the guy who had the tin man steel cock comment. Yes, it’s worth it. Three nights for me and I hope to be back in August… Met a few folks here who didn’t agree though. Pre-show some folks told us they thought the boys were just a Dead cover band at this point. (What!!?!?)
Yes. We even overpaid through Vibee and we’re still happy we did it. But if we only went to one night, we would be paying to go back again.
Yes. 100%. And there are seats along the sides in 101 & 110 that are about the lowest price you can get in the door, and they happen to be GREAT seats. Try to get row 20 or lower, but even 24 or higher can be great. So close to the band.

I was in Vegas in 94 for Grateful Dead and Traffic. I know heat lol
Dude, “roll you”? I’ve spent a lot of time in Las Vegas, and I can’t help but wonder what you’re talking about.
Depends. If you saw the Dead back in the day and think you will get the same experience, that’s going to be a no. If you go in with the mindset that it’s Dead and Co. with intense visuals and haptics, then yes, it’s worth it.
The show at the sphere is cyber Dead.
If you can find a place to lay your head, and you can afford airfare, go! Miracles are easy to come by if you poke around, and you can buy tickets day-of if you need to
Go or live the rest of your life regretting that you didn’t. NFA
Yes Tickets the day of the show are going for under face value, btw…. Even before I’ve been on the bus since ‘77, and the one thing I won’t say on my death bed is “dang it! I shouldn’t have gone to so many dead shows!”
Everyone should be legally obligated to attend at least once. Fan or not. It’s an amazing experience
It’s next level good
💯 worth it. I was expecting a lot and it delivered!
Yes baby
Does a bear 💩whereever it wants?
Yes
Its always better to regret something you have done, that something you haven't done.
It’s an absolute no brainer. Do not miss it if you can make it work.
there's life before sphere... and after.. DO IT
GO 100% it is worth it absolutely unreal I went last night and still can’t get my jaw off the floor
408 and 304 and going again two more times. Make it happen captain
Yes
I can only afford to go to one show and I’m going on 7/11. Fly in Wed, leave Fri morning. I can’t let this opportunity pass me by!! I can’t wait!!
Just got home from the show tonight. It was absolutely unexplainably perfect. It’s absolutely worth it.
One billion percent. I can promise this: you'll want to go a dozen more time but if that simply isn't feasible I recommend seated tickets with unobstructed views. Having experienced it twice so far all I can say is Fuck Yea! I will be back and broke AF and happy.
Yea
Do it.

As a person who can’t afford to do a Vegas Sphere show at all, “…to do just one?” brings this question to a level of unintelligible I can’t deal with. My brain literally can’t deal with the premise.
Every penny
Yes absolutely. You know it to be true.
It was worth it for tonight’s Space alone.
I flew in from Indy for the shows last weekend, and they were all fantastic. I know this has been discussed at length already, but I wasn't prepared for just how incredible it actually is. YES, mind blowing 🤯
Yes it’s worth it. Yes I’m leaving Vegas today, yes I’m going to go home and figure out how to come back.
Do the floor!!!!! The best part imo.
Go.
Yes. Ridiculous question. Is one amazing experience worth going to if you can’t have three amazing experiences?
Yes yes yes
Absolutely
Not if you’re only going to one show. If you’re gonna go put up a finger and smile.
YES

Does a bear shit on the pope?
Absolutely worth it. Without a doubt. Every dime spent on this trip (White Castle included, I’ll be damned)
Yes. Definitely
Absolutely... one of the top musical experiences I've ever had
Hell ya! So worth it
