Nice work! Matching kick 90’s is underrated. Surprising how many can’t do it, keep that in your portfolio haha

AnimalTom23

Is there a trick to it for larger pipe? In this instance, looks like you can get away doing the exact same kick 90 and just cut the pre-kicked side at different intervals to get the cascade.

Exciting-Box6578

All the pipe is pretty similar. In my eyes it's easier to match bends on a table bender or triple nickel. Looks like he bent the exact same stub, bent the kicks at the same distance from the back of the stub and then cut them all to fit into an even line of couplings going up the wall. Kind of hacky but the couplings can be cheated slightly on either end to level out the pipes and spacing, sometimes there is user error with the machines and you can be as much as 1/4" short with the stubs

AnimalTom23

That makes sense - I feel like planning it out without making those cuts going up the wall wouldn’t even be worth the trouble or labour cost as it still looks great too.

OfficerStink

Yeah these aren’t matching these are called staggered kicks and they are all the exact same. To match them you have to increase the degree on each smaller kick. This still looks great and probably how I would do it because of the simplicity.

DaddyZx636

Always wondered how yall spin this shit together. I’ve only done rigid in a trench so I could just spin it all together then drop it in.

WulfgarofIcewindDale

Stub 90s, that’s how, they’re easy to spin on. If your doing a 90, make it stub

Stock_Surfer

Spin the bends together first, then add straight sticks.

abortionisforhos

Same concept

cotch7

work of art, nice.

Commonslob

I can see the product label on one of the conduits, should’ve been on the back out of sight. Pure garbage, worst install ever

Ativekk

Ew, you’re right. I bet he’s proud of this slop bucket too. Terrible.

DouglerK

Tell them to call you Murphy you drop kicks so hard.

DaffyDingo

It’s been more than four hours. I should probably call my doctor.

Raviolist123

That looks really good, the couplings lining up and the perfect diagonal kicks look great.

sandstorml

pipe porn

marco333polo

I honestly don't think I've bent that amount of galvanized pipe in the last 18 years.

sparky84

Nice rack!

Borninthecorn

That’s purty

moogpaul

Sexy

epicenter69

That makes me tingle. Like climbing the rope in gym class.

FierDancr

r/conduitporn is calling

Mrsomeonesomewhere

Looks great 👍

ClearUnderstanding64

Nothing like a little pipe porn.

LiteratureLivid9216

Gawd damn that’s nice! I like the tools left and perfect ground conditions

8Notorious8

True craftsman

RMNVBE

I love unistrut

The_Wiz411

Immaculate, fantastic work bro

leaf_fan_69

You just want to flex !

Successful_Goose_348

Its beautiful

urdaddy69420k

how long did this take?

TransparentMastering

Beautiful work!

CatOppressor

What are those couples? Is that a kind of watertight couple I haven't seen yet, or is my phone screen just bad?

drgnsamurai

It's treaded rigid steel, not EMT, which makes this all the more impressive. I work with RGS and these 1-1/2" are HEAVY to work with. Largest I've done is 4", takes 2 people just to carry 1 stick.

CatOppressor

aw shoot, my fault for not reading. So you bent rigid? I hardly ever touch rigid, I'd just assumed you bought the pre-formed 90s and 45s and whatnot with rigid.

drgnsamurai

You can get pre-bent pieces but a lot of the time I am using rigid steel for hazardous locations Underground, which we try to avoid sharp 90s if possible, we make them more of a gradual sweep. There is a special rigid Bender specifically for it, it's completely different from an EMT Bender. You can use an EMT Bender but they are hard on the heads and can damage them. If you look on the Bender it'll even say 1 in EMT or 3/4 rigid.

Predapio1

Fucking, A. That's some quality posted pipe runs. Good job OP

GladZookeepergame775

That is some sexy pipe work. Well done.

HenryMillersLinesman

Fucking epic. Rigid is tough to work with and heavy AF. You earned your money bro.

gragoogle2246

My god thats sexy

davidc2299

Looks great, but we run conduit, scummy plumbdumbs and fitters run pipe. LOL

pimpsauce6789

I’m wet

DiscGolfPlease

I know a guy who will do it cheaper and it will look way worse.

pb_leadd

You’re my hero

The_One_True_Matt

Yeah but let’s see your math

mangojoy11

Do u just do the same kick 90 for each pipe and lob off the ends to have matching couplings like that? Or is it all one piece and you extend the length of your 90⁰ by your center to center value?

velcroshell

Thank you for your service 🫡

Big_Significance2673

Looks good for rigid

Reddllama2

Looks there’s a sticker left on the 6th pipe left to right honestly I wouldn’t have made that mistake

Reddllama2

Im just kidding looks great 👍

Killkakowski

I’m so turned on right now

Critical-Training365

This needs an nsfw tag..damn all rigid too

RKLCT

It's like art

shower_fart_sandwich

Beautiful

AverageGuy16

Man I need to get back to bending pipe man, I haven’t messed with it in like a year and I’m terrified at how bad those first few bends are gonna be

DocHenry66

Great work

InfamousCurve1109

It’s beautiful…

[deleted]

Could have saved a lot of time and just stuck all the cables in one soil stack. Would have looked millions times better than that London Underground system running up the building . Learn from the master son

cambo_

Lookin snazzy there mate

flipflop0690

That’s what I call EMT porn 🤪

Stock_Surfer

Looks good, but when I see this I can’t help but think, why not run like 4-8 large pipes instead?

Fllixys

have you run pipes? plus i’m pretty sure there’s a maximum amount of circuits a pipe can hold

Suitable-Pangolin-63

You can get larger pipe but the more current carrying conductors you have in a conduit or raceway the more you have to de-rate when sizing your wires. So you may install less pipe on a rack. But now you need to upsize your conductors and copper isn’t cheap. It’s usually easier/cheaper to just add another smaller pipe to your rack. It becomes a budget balancing game of what’s more cost effective; fewer larger pipes with big conductors or more smaller pipes with smaller conductors. In my experience big conduits are a bitch to install plus take longer and are less forgiving and big conductors suck to pull.

Fllixys

thanks for the lesson! i agree that’s why i asked if he’s run pipe lol, imagine if we put up 4-8 6” pipes instead.. no thank you

Suitable-Pangolin-63

No problem. Also there is a maximum for conductors in a raceway in Canada. CEC-12-910 max 200 conductors in a raceway which I’ve never seen anyone get close to that. But if there’s a rule you just know someone somewhere tried to do more than that so they had to make a rule 😂

Stock_Surfer

Yes lol, I do it for a living. I’m in the ibew. I even run a crew if you can believe it.

Fllixys

oh okay haha, well make them run 4-8 big pipes!

lawlwtf

Then you know why it was done this way.

Cynicallyoptimistik

Derating, after 6 current carrying conductors its like 50%. Bigger wire, more expensive, another step up in pipe size. Also pulling would be more of a pain because that need to be separated at some point and have uneven lengths.

Stock_Surfer

You can fit more circuits in a larger pipe, even with derating. You’d save some ground wire too. Obviously there are a bunch of variables like wire size/emergency etc

New-Earth-4346

Outstanding....
