Yeah, what I've noticed is the "easy 80" tends to be aimed at being most obtainable for low levels & free trial players so it usually emphasizes using cheap dyes. It rarely highlights a two piece solution, which those two will do.
This week is a bit odd. Free trial players can't use marketboard/trade and probably haven't done much crafting, the brand new boots from the level 15 trial quests or the acolyte's from the first 3 dungeons make much more sense for them.
So I'm free trial and new, and I noticed this is way harder than the last two weeks because of the jacket and thighboots. Are we able to substitute them? Is having them the only way to get the 60k MGP?
There are some fashion reports where it's just not possible for newer players/lower level alts, or sometimes free trial players period, to complete the 80 points. You do get 10k for trying regardless, though.
If just you want the 60k MGP, all you need are:
* Two correct items OR
* One correct item and two +2 dyes OR
* One correct item, one +2 dye and two +1 dyes OR
* One correct item, four +1 dyes.
If you can't get Snow White dye for the legs, you could use any white dye on the legs and any black dye on the gloves for +1 each. Use Mole Brown dye on the hat (it's cheap and worth +2) . Do Hall of the Novice missions as a caster/healer for the boots.
That's four points for dyes and one matching item which equals 80 points--enough for the full 60,000 MGP.
Any empty slots may result in penalty points (empty off-hand slot is fine) and ruin your score.
Oh thank you! My brain blocked out all the stuff at the top and just didn't understand the options at the top. It won't get me 60k but it'll get me something?
just need to folow the easy 80 but instead of using the dhalmelskin thighboots you can use any thighboots on the top list, for the white dye you will need any crafter and gatherer at lv30ish.
Not sure where I’m going wrong. I got a mole brown head, soot black chest and gloves, Snow White velveteen bottoms and the acolytes thigh boots (won’t let me dye these for some reason). I only end up with 74. Isn’t that 1 correct piece, 2x +2 dyes and 2x +1 dyes?
Do you have any empty slots? You lose points for have empty slots as they have some point attached to just filling a slot even if they are not the theme for the week. Offhand can be empty but nothing else can be.
**Before asking for help please read below**
* Check ALL slots are filled except off-hand
* Check that even non-hint slots are filled.
* Check that both rings are filled
* When using dyes, make sure they're in the correct dye slots
* Check your dye names to make sure they are exactly the same or the right type
* Glamouring items counts for the hint slots and dyes
* If you are still having issues, please include a screenshot of your results screen from the Masked Rose. It will be easier for us to help troubleshoot your issue
#**What is the Fashion Report?**
The Fashion Report is a weekly mini-game in the Gold Saucer with the NPC the Masked Rose to earn 60,000+ MGP and items to unlock from another NPC such as glamour, and housing items. For the mini-game the Masked Rose gives out 4 hints for players to discover the results to. The correct gear, correct dye and just filling out gear slots will net you more points. You get 10k MGP for participation and then once you reach a score of at least 80pts you will get a 50k MGP bonus. For achieving the maximum score of 100pts you will earn an achievement which gives you the title "Fashion Leader". Additionally, the NPC next to the Masked Rose called Kasumi will gradually unlock glamour and furnishing items in her shop based on the total number of points week over week you accumulate. Once you have 600pts total you will have unlocked the entire shop. Unfortunately, you are only able to accumulate 100pts per week for the shop unlock so at minimum it will take 6 full weeks of the Fashion Report.
Old scripts no longer in game. Yellow is now white. Our fashion lord and savior keeps their own archive of past items to make it easier to put this together for us.
I was able to get 80 with a StB character who hadn't reached ShB using the following glam:
* Weapon dyed Gunmetal Black (any)
* Scion Adventurer's Monocle dyed Mole Brown (complete post-HW MSQ)
* Scion Adventurer's Jacket dyed Gunmetal Black (complete post-HW MSQ)
* Strife Gloves dyed Gunmetal Black (any item should work)
* Altered Woolen Trousers dyed Snow White (any item should work)
* Ishgardian Thighboots dyed Gunmetal Black (looks like they count as the same type as the others listed, 30k MGP)
The market board right now for the other thighboots (and the mats to make them) is pretty grim, so MGP may be your best bet for filling that slot if you have it. Also, the gunmetal dyes might not have been necessary, but I had them on hand and wasn't taking any chances.
Can't seem to get passed 94 points; first attempt involved undyed Acolyte's Thighboots for 93 before swapping to black soot dyed Ishgardian Thighboots.

Any Weapon - Black Soot Dye
Scion Traveler's Mask - Mole Brown Dye
Scion Traveler's Jacket - Black Soot Dye
Any Gloves - Black Soot Dye
Any Leg Piece - Snow White Dye
Ishgardian Thighboots - Black Soot dye
The Ishgardian Thighboots in your screenshot aren't giving points.
That piece doesn't count. There are too many boots in that style and only some of them are officially recognized.
Dang was hoping I wouldn't have to shill out on a new pair of kicks and instead use what I already had lol, oh well.
I still surprisingly got a 1 point advantage over the Acolyte's Thighboots in Kaiyoko's picture, I'm assuming the gear pieces toward the top of the list is the most accurate?
All equipment matches are worth the same value. It's possible that the acolyte's thighboots also weren't counting. Sometimes the gear list isn't consistent even for the same hint and not every listed solution is tested. I've also had something listed on the infographic not work in the past.
Easy 80 i did:
Hempen Bandana- mole brown dye
(vendors)
Lucian Prince's Jacket (i did the Nocturne for Heroes while in free trial on XBOX)
Woolen Dress Gloves- soot black dye
(vendors)
Woolen Thighs - snow white dye (vendors- snow white dye from rank 5 ixali tribe)
Brand-new Thighboots (disciple of magic)- Hall of the novice
New player here, Level 30 Gladiator. Had to level Thaumaturge so I could get the boots. Did a bunch of levies with the exp boost and got it fairly quickly. Just bought the dyes off market and got 80 points! Grinding for the FFXVI event.
Edit: Nevermind. One of my retainers somehow ended up with the wrong jewelery equipped and my loadout was missing 3 slots.
Mole brown hat, snow white legs, and the scion traveler's legs did not give me 80 points as the graphic suggests. I check several times to make sure I hadn't accidentally dyed the wrong piece. Am I somehow reading it wrong?
If you happen to be a female Hyur, the default gear Hyuran Longboots are a match, and might be slightly more convenient than the other boots listed.
They're also dye-able unlike the Brand-new and Acolyte boots, but considering the dyes this week it probably doesn't help much if this is what you're resorting to.
Just FYI, for Easy 80 pts, the "Any dyeable Leg Piece" has a Body Piece Image in the cheat sheet (along with the leg piece to the left). I didn't catch the disconnect and dyed my body piece the first time before reading closer and saw what I did wrong.
Just a side note for future reference - The Brand-New *Boots* (DoW) do not count for this; you need the Thighboots. (I got \~84 points with that & the scion adv head/body).
Not sure what I did wrong, but if I'm reading this right, then Acolyte's Thighboots should be gold, which they definitely were not. Along with those, I also tried using Soot Black on the hands and feet, Snow White on the legs, and didn't dye my weapon. Soot Black apparently just couldn't keep up, but I'm not sure why Acolyte's Thighboots are listed as gold here. I got only one star for them.
Is the best way to do this to purposely fail once with a good score, then do a second judging right after with like a proper 80+? I screwed up last week not realizing I dyed the wrong piece and got an 78, the 10k gil, then tried again not expecting a reward and still MGP but I might've misread how much I got the second time, or maybe it just had -10k MGP and rewarded me the rest of the possible amount.
no, you get the same amount... you get 10K mgp for participation and 50K for getting 80+... if you don't get 80+, then you only get 10k mgp... on 2nd tries, if you get 80+, then you get 50K mgp. No matter what total still is 60k.
At most you can bump it up to 69k (yes yes, the funny number) if you use a MGP ticket beforehand. You can either get them via your squadron missions or your FC can pop the MGP FC booster.
Got a 100 with
Aug. Scaevan Magitek Chakrams - no dye
Scion Traveler's Mask - Mole Brown
Scion Traveler's Jacket - Soot Black
Goatskin armguards - Soot Black
Hrothgar Subligar - Snow White
Dhalmelskin Thighboots - no dye
So I think the true Easy 100 here is just, the two travelers pieces, any thighboot on the list, and correct dye in 4 slots (mole probably mandatory?).
Question: for those who are able to equip the SHB jacket, isnt just the hat + jacket enough for easy 80? Or am I reading this wrong.
Yeah that works, I was trying to include a recommendation with the thighboots for freetrial players and it wouldn't fit the head and body easily.

Bah, I was wondering why I was getting 78! It's _legs,_ not chest. Icons slipped me up. This is a super helpful breakdown!
You can get the brand New thighboots on the Hall of novice quests, i think it's the caster quest one
Oh thank you! My brain blocked out all the stuff at the top and just didn't understand the options at the top. It won't get me 60k but it'll get me something?

You're amazing thank you for all the help! Going to do it now! (EDIT: I got 82 points!!!)

you don't need the jacket *and* the thighboots that's why it says "or"
Yeah any two gold pieces will be enough for 80 points. It's what I prefer to do instead of looking for dyes if it's not to much of a hassle.
Can confirm, all you need for 80 is the Scion Travellers Helm and Jacket, no dyes.

Really easy 100pts week if you’ve made it to SHB
All hail Kaiyoko's tireless efforts each week every week for years now
yellow scrips? what??

Thank you for this! Just got my first 100!
there is an issue with the graphic. In the "easy 80" any dyeable leg Piece, is listed with a dyed top not bottoms
Thanks for this! Easy fashion victory!
Thanks again, OP!

because the boots were undyed you got the extra point from dying the ishgardian longboots

Was trying to aim for 80 this week, ended up getting 100 on accident 😂
Easy 80 i did: Hempen Bandana- mole brown dye (vendors) Lucian Prince's Jacket (i did the Nocturne for Heroes while in free trial on XBOX) Woolen Dress Gloves- soot black dye (vendors) Woolen Thighs - snow white dye (vendors- snow white dye from rank 5 ixali tribe) Brand-new Thighboots (disciple of magic)- Hall of the novice

Adepts Thighboots are available from the Moogle tribal quests and are also a nice fashion item in general!

Forgive me, but I'm a noob who is still doing ARR. I do happen to have a lot of gil to spare. What do I buy?

Yeah, I basically always pop up for that since there’s nothing else I do in gold saucer than the jackpot
