Wut? They are OP for most of the postgame - Mindy’s Passado ranges from the most to the third most powerful attack in the game and that never changes.

Passado is never the most powerful attack, Zanmato always holds that title. While passado is a strong attack, it is incredibly inconsistent use, especially considering Mindy prefers magic. This makes it essentially useless post game.  Considering you can't get the Magus Sisters until after you have the airship that leaves Sin and Omega ruins as the only useful place for the Magus sister. A relatively small portion of the main story and post-game. And even this is streching it, since you can unlock Don tonberry which can happen at the same time, allowing your main party members to surpass them fairly easily. So yeah, they aren't OP for very long, only really useful as a meat shield for a large part of the post game.

Well yes and no. The last 3 kinda come as a combo deal. So technically 8 different summons

3 of them are all the same aeon, they act as a party of 3 but you cannot control them. They’re way overtuned and you can influence their actions with commands but they can also just choose to do nothing. They have stupid high stats and are apart of the NSG Anima Strat that DANSG08 did back in ‘08 (the only legit attempt IIRC) but they also are just maddening to use and get passed up by the arena monsters pretty fast

Haha fair enough, for a little context. There's a joke questline that basically plays out like a classic slapstick, wherein the main character is a charismatic but stupid detective. He cannot pronounce yojimbo's name (and he shows up using his ffx model and all) and so the detective refers to him as Jim the entire questline.

I've not done this on X, but I did a play through of VIII recently where I gave all the GFs Pokémon names. Zapdos for Quezacoatl, Magmar for Ifrit etc etc

Any Aeon that appeared in FFXVI is named after their Dominant >!(Ifrit is Clive, Shiva is Jill, Bahamut is Dion),!< and the Magus Sisters are named after the 3 magical girls from Dragon Ball Super. The ones from the Tournament of Power. Yojimbo is named Gilgames(h), and I called Anima "Mother." Valefor and Ixion are the only Aeons with their original names.

I kept the default names instead of being lolrandomquirky, because those are their names.
