Exactly. Everyone assumed- and understandably so- that Activision was the reason Destiny 2 was a MTX garbage fest, but then Bungie just made it even worse once they had full control of the IP
Edit: and to add onto this, I don't much care for Sega. I'm not a sonic fan, but I can see how they've created a lot of animosity with the fanbase by not just giving them what they want in a sonic game. As a Phantasy star online fan, I also LOATHE what they've turned the franchise into. PSO2 is absolutely nothing like PSO from a gameplay perspective. It's just another perpetually online action RPG
This is the frustrating part, because even companies like Ryu Ga Gotaku or Atlus that are mostly loved still have to come with an addendum of "But they did do that one thing that pissed the fans off".
I still think it’s the most predatory AAA game out there. I had thousands of hours in both games. Could have done a lot more with the money I put into that franchise.
Also that time they pulled a WoW Cataclysm.
Oh, and don’t forget Destiny having an actually really cool plot in development that Jason Jones went apeshit and completely tossed out, driving Joe Staten from the company. Like, dude wrote *Halo* and Jason didn’t let him cook. Why would you ever toss out a universe plot from the guy who successfully fused “mainstream action game” and “story-heavy game” in such a way that shaped the entire future of gaming? Joe Staten made gaming’s Star Wars and Jason didn’t let him cook. That’s batshit insanity. What the fuck is wrong with him?
It wasn't "alright" at release. It was not good. I love d2 and d1, but we gotta stop acting like it was bett3r before. It wasn't, and it's QUANTIFIABLE that it wasn't. They've said, several times, they were only a couple months away from shutting down on D2 launch, it was so poorly received.
The game is handled like shit nowadays, monetization-wise, but it's genuinely one of the best feeling fps games out there. And it's genuinely fun to play when it's in it's good cycle(which it is rn, which means it'll probably be trash this time next year)
I mean gameplay and story wise the fact they have removed access from me for over 200 quids worth of dlc and shit I've paid for is enough for me.to never play again and or give a fuck about what they say and or Do
What?? They fucking made and finished an amazing series of games and refused to continue it as to not butcher it and make it stale.
Now 343 has Done that.
And to be fair destiny one was an actual relative success for bungie with Activision.
2 I dunno I played it at release and for 2 dlc then it went all fucking weird.
Don't forget us ATLUS players who got stuck with SMT V (not vengeance) which was obviously not fully finished, not giving the budget for FemC in Persona 3 Reload and only giving the budget for Episode Aigis/The Answer after fans criticized and begged for it. Those are just the big things, there's several smaller things that we dunk on Sega for, like no English dub for PersonaQ2 New Cinema Labyrinth
The total war scene was on fire this last year and sega is the parent company to creative assembly. Tons of layoffs and a dead project that held up funds for a game no one wanted.
From my understanding and what I remember, Mick only took issue with one specific member of the id team and he asked his following to be mindful of all the other people who worked on the DOOM franchise
Gordon had a lot of songs that they didn't like including BFG Division. That was only added because they didn't know what else to add
Not to mention he wasn't paid for nearly a whole ass year and then ID turned around and only gave him half of what they were supposed to
I just saw a video where he said rip and tear was rejected, then added when they needed something soon. Crazy how we almost never got one of the top 3 iconic doom songs
Yes that’s correct, the way Mick was treated was abhorrent but Mick also said it was specifically Marty Stratton he took the most issue with and when he released the document that is who he specifically called out by name when posting it.
A day after releasing the document he made a tweet saying “To those taking action against the game, please spare a thought for all the talented people who worked incredibly hard to make the game you enjoyed. The team’s work, which drew critical acclaim, deserves celebration and their efforts should not be the target of the protest.”
That's the reason why I'm a little leery about playing the new DOOM game. Heck, it's one of the reasons I still haven't played Eternal. I just don't know if I wanna support them after everything that happened to my guy, Mick.
Eternal is also worth avoiding for the sole fact that it went from Doom to
Doom Weapon Swapping Simulator.
It was painful to watch my buddy play it. Painful. The game fights you instead of being a fun experience.
Larian not only make great games but they seemingly treat their staff right and don't make decisions based on what will get them the most money. Pretty decent company by all accounts!

What is Sega doing here? They used to be cool, they published their old games to Steam using emulators so you could easily extract the ROM and play it on other devices. Then they decided to remove them from Steam and re-publish them with Denuvo and other nonsense.
Pretty sure Nightdive did run into issues with fans and the System Shock Remake.
ID lost a lot of faith after the Mick Gordon incident.
People aren't happy that Bungie allowed themselves to be bought up by Sony. Also xant forget the off & on Destiny drama.
And Sega... well they're Sega.
Coffee Stain is too far down in the comments. fan base engagement with Satisfactory has been amazing. they've been developing the game with their consumer base the entire time, which has made for a fun journey. Great game and I applaud their efforts in their game-making and customer engagement.
Yes... You are very wrong. Why are Bungie and Sega here? Bungie is absolutely hated nowadays, primarily by THEIR OWN PLAYERBASE. Meanwhile, SEGA has just always had plenty of haters. Yeah, Yakuza is awesome, but they haven't treated all of their series the best for a long time. Even Sonic has been fucked over for years, and that's their mascot.
Nightdive I'm not sure enough about, but id is basically untouchable with them basically always delivering. Gonna suck when Microsoft tries to shut them down.
Didn't Id release RAGE and RAGE 2? Which were never well received? And Bungie had a very spotty reputation after Destiny released.
And Sega owns the Sonic franchise...
I've heard since pretty bad things about Bungie.
Also, I think Arrow Head belongs on this list. All the backlash they recently suffered was because of Sony, and they took the fall and embrace the negativity in, what I feel is the right way. They also just donated to save the children in honor of the outcome of the most recent community goal. Players gave up a new weapon to save children, so the company followed in their foot steps.
I’m not happy with how Sega treats puyo puyo’s localization.
Other than crossovers with Tetris (which is why this game even has an identity in the west), the first proper sequel in long time had been released as Apple Arcade exclusive.
Idk if Bungie is the problem or was it Activision and Sony? Regardless get them out and put FromSoft up there. Square can also have an honorable mention.
Sega is hated but its still loved at the same time. If they werent so irresponsible with the Sonic franchise then I would say they were among the greatest game developers of all time.
Yeah sadly Bungie doesn't belong on that list. Replace with From Software though.
Also, I like Behavior Interactive. They do a lot of microtransactions but I do like them and I get why they do it.
Yes. Very wrong. Nightdive is pretty unhated, but Bungie Id and Sega are all extremely guilty of overusing contractors as opposed to fulltime employees. Id ruined their relationship with the best composer in the industry for a quick buck. Sega layed off (closed?) a lot of the creative assembly team despite how much they carried them between the ps2 to PS4 transition time. Bungie layed off a huge number of people despite saying they wouldn't less than 3 months before. Id, Sega, and Bungie all have as much anti consumer mtx in their games, as much as they can get away with. Bungie is easily the least consumer friendly because of removing content that people paid for.
If you think bungie is unhated you must not play destiny2, there's a love hate cycle, and they've done a bunch of shitty thing (mostly due to Sony to be fair)
I saw someone sling hate for Nightdive because of the Star Wars Dark Forces Remaster, but I don't remember why, but they hated them in general for all of the remasters they've done.
And there are plenty of Total War fans that hate Sega.
Some days I look at all the companies I used to like and see how evil they've become. I used to love Google (Don't be evil), blizzard, activation (when they were separate. Hell, I liked most companies more while separate). And all I have to say is "At least Gabe hasn't fucked us yet".
I thought Bungie receives a lot of hate these days?
what did they do?
See Destiny's history of micro transactions, season passes, and vaulting paid content.
Exactly. Everyone assumed- and understandably so- that Activision was the reason Destiny 2 was a MTX garbage fest, but then Bungie just made it even worse once they had full control of the IP Edit: and to add onto this, I don't much care for Sega. As a Phantasy star online fan, I also LOATHE what they've turned the franchise into. PSO2 is absolutely nothing like PSO from a gameplay perspective. It's just another perpetually online action RPG
Yeah, I'd replace Sega's seat with Ryu Ga Gotaku (but I'd pee in that seat for the ng+ dlc of like a dragon)
This is the frustrating part, because even companies like Ryu Ga Gotaku or Atlus that are mostly loved still have to come with an addendum of "But they did do that one thing that pissed the fans off".
Not to mention explicitly stating "This acquision won't lead to layoffs, we promise!" to then turn around in like 3 months and have mass layoffs.
I still think it’s the most predatory AAA game out there. I had thousands of hours in both games. Could have done a lot more with the money I put into that franchise.
Also the fact that Destiny was an overhyped pile of hot steaming garbage when it launched
Joe Staten made gaming’s Star Wars and Jason didn’t let him cook. That’s batshit insanity. What the fuck is wrong with him?
The steaming pile of shit that is now destiny 2
Destiny 2 was alright at release tbh bit lacking of content but by a few dlcs was alright, then went fucking f2p
It wasn't "alright" at release. It was not good. I love d2 and d1, but we gotta stop acting like it was bett3r before. It wasn't, and it's QUANTIFIABLE that it wasn't. They've said, several times, they were only a couple months away from shutting down on D2 launch, it was so poorly received. destiny been around for some 10 years now
If by these days you mean the last decade or so then yeah
Ya, about the last 5-7 years
Bungie gets some hate from the community I like Nine Dots
Some hate? Minor understatement from what I heard of the Destiny 2 content vault.
MAJOR understatement given the events of the last 18 months. And that is just some of the times bungie incurred the wrath of the community
Old Bungie not new Bungie
That pfp brings back so much nostalgia
Been using it since the Halo 3 days on the 360. It’s my go-to pfp for everything now.
Don't blame you, it's iconic, anybody who played on 360 will immiditly recognize it
God, i miss earnable gamerpics. 360 was a hell of a time when you werent the victim of a RRoD
The people who hate Bungie also love Bungie.
Used to love.
The old halo days, the good old days
Very important addition. Bungie USED to be great, then they flipped like a burger
I'll never forgive them for leaving halo to make a looter shooter
Op has no idea what he talking about.
Bro clearly never saw how the community reacted to rage 2 ID is definitely not unhated
Or how they did Gordon dirty
Not to mention wolfenstein Youngblood, no one liked that game.
Youngblood was MachineGames.
fr
Be nice, OP is trying his best
I can only think of insomniac (maybe?) and ofc the king of them all Fromsoftware as being unhated
Where FromSoft?
One of the few who actually belong there.
I mean depends on who you ask if they are hated lol
oh sorry
Sir! SIR! How could you forget Supergiant? ![gif](giphy|U1aN4HTfJ2SmgB2BBK)
Lol
After making those fucking insanely aggressive souls dogs? Nah man fuck those guys!
Does it matter where they are from?
My relationship with FromSoft is essentially the meme of “Fuck you, I’ll see you tomorrow”
I’m sure Microsoft is about to buy and close them soon… ugh fucken Microsoft 😑
Yes literally my first thought
SEGA? Ummm... New Game+ locked behInd DLC...
No one hates sega more than sonic fans.
oh :(
Sega also gets hated on for a lot of sonic games.
I forgot sega owned persona
Because they bought out Atlus in 2013, yea.
Trust me, Sega gets most passionate hate from the mechs who are tasked with repairing their arcade games
The total war scene was on fire this last year and sega is the parent company to creative assembly. Tons of layoffs and a dead project that held up funds for a game no one wanted.
They've also released shitty games in unacceptable conditions.
replace with arrowhead, if they count
They got a lot of hate from the Sony fiasco (undeserved) and with the shitty nerfs/buffs and shitty new armors(deserved)
Bungie? Yeah ok
I don't know how much of the situation with Mick Gordon was id's fault versus Bethesda's fault but it was pretty shitty regardless.
From my understanding and what I remember, Mick only took issue with one specific member of the id team and he asked his following to be mindful of all the other people who worked on the DOOM franchise
Gordon had a lot of songs that they didn't like including BFG Division. That was only added because they didn't know what else to add Not to mention he wasn't paid for nearly a whole ass year and then ID turned around and only gave him half of what they were supposed to

That's the reason why I'm a little leery about playing the new DOOM game. Heck, it's one of the reasons I still haven't played Eternal. I just don't know if I wanna support them after everything that happened to my guy, Mick.
Pirate it
Eternal is also worth avoiding for the sole fact that it went from Doom to Doom Weapon Swapping Simulator. It was painful to watch my buddy play it. Painful. The game fights you instead of being a fun experience.
Why tf is Bungie on here?
Old bungie was great. New bungie has issues.
That is an incredibly nostalgic pfp.
It's from when bungie was a good company
Showing your age
The Bungie from halo was amazing and had so much love from its community. The Bungie today is just trying to squeeze as much cash from it's community.
Larian is pretty popular right now.
should I just redo this meme?
yes just an empty table. give it time and they all fall.
Yup, even the few that make good games in the present find some way to upset people. Just look at Valve.
Yeah and take bungie out.
Larian has never been hated.
Larian not only make great games but they seemingly treat their staff right and don't make decisions based on what will get them the most money. Pretty decent company by all accounts!
You are incredibly wrong lol
How could you forget Ghost Ship Games
Rock and stone!
Rock and roll and stone!

Relogic
Truly, the best.
Bungie? I don’t know a single person that actually likes them… anymore
Don't check any destiny subs
Remedy
You uh…should take bungle off. Most old school destiny vets get it.
Apparently the Dark Forces Remaster was super buggy
Why isn’t digital extremes here?
Digital extremes are minted. One of the best dev studios rn
They are seriously underrated.
Larian
Brother Sega is constantly getting hate. They've fucked sonic in his twink ass one too many times
Why is bungee in there? lol. Is this where they vote out an imposter ?
Clearly has never played Destiny
People shit on Bungie and SEGA. Add in Coffee Stain studios.
Coffee Stain is too far down in the comments. fan base engagement with Satisfactory has been amazing. they've been developing the game with their consumer base the entire time, which has made for a fun journey. Great game and I applaud their efforts in their game-making and customer engagement.
Larian?
Also beamng.tech and pre-microsoft mojang
Bungie Will probably only be there for the rest of the year then get kicked off the board again.
Valve is hated?
Steam isn't exactly great... They do make great games though. WHEN they make games that is.
Isn't Bungie being hated for the current state of destiny 2?
What about insomniac, sucker punch, I wanna say santa Monica, too, but I remembered order 1886, and it lasts only 7 hrs
Old bungie sure, new bungie…
Ummm, we hate Bungie. They're pulling the big grift with Destiny 2
Remove Bungie
f bungie, they took my destiny fishing away
Where Ghost Ship (Deep Rock Galactic)
I was about to say someone get the Total War and Company of Heroes fans here. They may not all hate sega but they certainly don’t all like sega.
Bungie is un-hated? With all the controversies and bs people keep putting out about Destiny?
Wdym Sega? Pushing unfinished games aah company
Inaccurate. Bungie doesn’t deserve to be on here. Replace him with re-logic, the dev team of terraria
Hello games
Valve?
I'd personally swap out Bungie with a studio like Larrion, or Arrowhead
As a Sonic fan, I can tell you Sega is very much hated
Sega is pretty great. I do have a few issues with them but I say it's fair to say I don't hate.
Where is larian in this photo?
Yes, you are wrong.
None of these belong here lmao. Closest I’d give is FromSoft, Arkane, Larian, and Fireaxis.
Didn't Id release RAGE and RAGE 2? Which were never well received? And Bungie had a very spotty reputation after Destiny released. And Sega owns the Sonic franchise...
Sega and Bungie as unhated?
Fuck Bungie lol
Yes you are VERY wrong lol. Especially SEGA. I mean have you seen any sega fanbase be consistently happy ever?
Warhorse Studios.
Bungie is dancing that line like a fucking skipping rope
The fuck Sega doing there
TFW you repost a meme that used to be true... fuck bunjie
This meme would be awesome and make sense if it was made like a decade ago
Put Valorware in there, he's one dude and very nice. (He made the 9th dawn series)
[One of these is not like the others](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsIdPWB2_JA).
i thought bungie receives a ton of hate?
id kinda lost a little rep with the whole Mick Gordon thing. Get marty outta there though and that might change.
Nightdive and id yes, the other 2, eh
Isn't Sega going around filing DMCAs on websites with repositories of old game roms? They are working their way onto the list with the others
Bungie... Oh boy.
FUCK BUNGIE!!! Unless you support sweeping sexual harrament under the rug.
Capcom
Can I get some love for Sucker Punch and Motion Twin? 😇
I’m not happy with how Sega treats puyo puyo’s localization. Other than crossovers with Tetris (which is why this game even has an identity in the west), the first proper sequel in long time had been released as Apple Arcade exclusive.
Where’s landfall?
I mean ConcernedApe probably doesn't count but they are unhatable.
I mean Arrowhead. They've been amazing with Helldivers 2.
HA bungie is not unhated.
Hardsuit labs, dotemu and Larian Studios?
You're wrong
Where valve
FromSoft? Santa Monica? Insomniac? Also Bungie micro-transactions??
Idk if Bungie is the problem or was it Activision and Sony? Regardless get them out and put FromSoft up there. Square can also have an honorable mention.
Arrowhead?
Larian?
Didn't Bungie literally take to Twitter to blame their player base for them losing money?
Fuck Sega
Bungie definitely hasn't been in that meeting for years. They may earn it back with the new D2 expansion though.
Sega is hated but its still loved at the same time. If they werent so irresponsible with the Sonic franchise then I would say they were among the greatest game developers of all time.
Rockstar
Yeah sadly Bungie doesn't belong on that list. Replace with From Software though. Also, I like Behavior Interactive. They do a lot of microtransactions but I do like them and I get why they do it.
Id say SuckerPunch great games and as far i know havent been in any big Drama
Yes.
Lots of others exist but they are mostly small indi game studios.
Seems legit
If you think bungie is unhated you must not play destiny2, there's a love hate cycle, and they've done a bunch of shitty thing (mostly due to Sony to be fair)
Talk to any sonic fan, then you will see real hate.
I saw someone sling hate for Nightdive because of the Star Wars Dark Forces Remaster, but I don't remember why, but they hated them in general for all of the remasters they've done. And there are plenty of Total War fans that hate Sega.
Got love for supergiant and devolver
Sega? Unhated?
Mojang?

Don't forget wube

No you're not you forgot Nintendo though no one hates Nintendo.
Bungie has a love hate relationship.
>Sega >Unhated SONIC FAN DETECTED, DISREGARDING OPINION
Yes
eeh... Bungie and Sega... i don't know mate
Sega has dealt with a lot of hate over the years.
Digital Extremes!!!
Is insomniac good? They seem good but idk
Where's Arrowhead?
People hate id because of the whole Mick Gordon thing
