I like the left dash off the tee. I like the firmer feel of the x over the regular ProV. I don't find the difference in spin to be that consequential between any of the balls I listed with the exception of the left dash.
I've found MaxFlis are much better for me around the green than the ProV1xs I've been playing recently. They just gave me way better spin control.
Practically no difference off the tee either as far as I can tell
I can't tell a difference between ProV1x and Tour X off the tee, around the greens the Tour X feels softer. The left dash feels like a bullet off the tee but is definitely a little too firm when chipping. If the Maxfli didn't have such an ugly alignment line, it would be nearly a perfect ball for me.
Z star XV. Performance is great and I love that my group can hit all our tee shots within yards of each other and I can tell which one is mine driving up. The white on these things is crazy
I made the decision this year to pick a ball and only play that model. With all the other variables I figured I’d remove one thing in hopes of getting closer to consistency. Currently doing vice balls just for the discounts and I really enjoyed one I found end of year last year. Did a ball fitting years ago but was much poorer then and buying the recommended balls was less likely than just getting the cheapest.
Bridgestone e6, only $2 a ball, doesn’t seem to spin as much as the equally priced callaway supersoft and doesn’t feel sharp/plastic-y like some of the cheaper balls
Taylor made Tour Response. Club fitter gave me 4 balls to review with based on swing metrics. I bought a dozen of each and spent a summer working through them. I liked the feel of the Taylor made best.
I really wouldn’t do this. The whole reason Titleist balls are so good is the manufacturing consistency. Unless you know the balls haven’t been buffed or repainted, you’re probably better off playing something else.
Definitely not buffed or repainted - they don't sell "refurbished" balls. The only real concern would be if they sat in a lake for a couple years, but with the ProV1's they sell you can select your year of manufacture to minimize that risk.
I play whatever decent ball I find. Which is a ton on the courses I play. IMHO, it's the archer not the arrow. But I do have preferences.
Mostly play Titleist, Callaway, Taylor Made and Vice.
I donate any Top Flites, Wilsons, Pinnacles, Kirklands, Slazengers or Precepts.
Most of my buddies play one specific brand and type of golf ball. Think its more in their head but to each his own.
Just started using the Maxfli Tour and I like them a lot. Bought the 48 pack, but I wish I could get that deal for the bright yellow instead of just white.
If I have to spend my own money on balls it's going to either be for some yellow Pro V1s or Pro V1Xs.
I'm comfortable with both balls and they generally give me the best combo of distance and control.
Aside from that I would spend my money on Srixon Z-Star XV Divides. I like the split color design (rarely see others playing them so it's easy to identify my ball) and while I don't hit these the farthest, I tend to have better left to right dispersion with them. They are a great tournament ball in that regard.
If I have pro shop credits or gift cards I'll buy other balls if they don't have my preferred balls or I want to try something different out.
Prov1. They are and have been for thr past 20 years, the best ball in the world. I’m no pro but every other ball simply isn’t as good. Even the other top dollar Titleist variations.
I ask for PV1 for fathers day, birthday, xmas. Its a great ball that feels good and checks all my boxes. I generally won't buy them for myself though.
I buy Maxfli Tour. It feels and plays about the same for me. And half the cost of PV1.
As I have gotten to the point where I lose at most one to three balls per round, I have started to realize that I can play nicer balls and not worry about the expense. I prefer a nice springy/responsive ball for short shots and putts, and a ball with low spin off the tee.
Maybe top 3: prov1x, Bridgestone tour bx, chrome tour x.
Vice pro. I’ve started hitting the ball a little harder and wanted something lower compression with better feel across all clubs. Pro V’s if I were rich but alas I am not, so the Vice Pro is a good compromise imo.
Calm day with my driver on, I will use an extra spinny ball like a prov1x or tp5x. However if it's windy out or I'm having a hard time keeping my driver straight, I'll use the regular version. Winter time (in the pnw) I play the softer balls.
affordable, Vice pro or pro plus is the best bang for buck golf ball, kirklands are good but they spin like crazy off the tee. My ball currently is the Chromesoft X LS but i have an extremely high swing speed and that ball will struggle to hold greens with longer irons for most golfers who don’t swing fast enough to get that much spin.
SRIXON Z Star - like the soft feel, consistent distance on mid irons, driver distance is +\- 10 yards of other balls, and think their new cover provides good spin on miss hit partial wedges.
95-105 Driver swing speed.
Love a -Prov1x, really been liking the chrome soft, chrome tour x, and looking to play some chromesoft x LS to see if I get less dispersion off the tee. But I usually buy Vice pro from sams, 2 dozen for $49 is pretty hard to beat. They seem to play very close to a standard prov1
Bridgestone e12 contact Multicolor
I get them cheap online, I like their 'feel'. They get decent distance. I'm not good enough to worry about needing to finesse them around
And most of all - I can actually see them. Plus no one else really seems to play Bridgestones, so I generally know if it's my ball
Mostly Pro V1’s, the Play It Again Sports near me has them used for $1.49 a ball. If they’re out of them, I’ll usually buy a 30 pack of whatever Titleist balls they have, or something else if it’s slim pickings.
I like the Srixon z star but they seem to wear out pretty quickly. I got a pack of Snell mtb x and they’re incredible. I think I’ll be sticking with them for a while
I'm a very firm believer in the Kirkland Performance ball. I love the feel, and they're plenty long off the tee. And even better, at a super affordable price.
If price is no object I always gravitate towards Bridgestone Tour BX. However with that being said, I still prefer the Kirkland.
i like srixon q star tour, because it's mid compression and at my wimpy swing speed i can actually compress it and it still feels pretty firm off my putter face. gets decent enough spin around the greens.
Callaway ERC . Its the ball that gives me the most distance. I don't worry about spin on the green as my short game is a dumpster fire. (Edit for spelling...lol)
Flame me, call me a fanboy, idc. Prov1 and its variants is the best ball out there. If I’m spending the money, it’s for a prov1x
If I’m being cheap, Kirkland all the way. Can’t beat the price to performance ratio
Been trying a decent variety over the past year, these four have been my favorites:
ProV1
AVX
Bridgestone RXS
Bridgestone XS
I always find my way back to the ProV1, but I've been impressed with the RXS as well.
~3 handicap right now, ~100 driver swing speed.

I exclusively play Bob Specials. Bob lives on the Wailea Blue course and gives me all the golf balls I’ll ever need. Mahalo, Bob!!
Damn I need some bob in my life
The Bob Specials tend to be Titleist Pro V1s, Chrome Softs and other high quality golf balls, too!! Bob can’t buy his own beer when he’s with me!
Neighbor!
My favorite balls to *play* are -ProV1x, Prov1x, ProV1, in that order. The balls I *buy* are Maxfli Tour X because you can get 48 for like $110 USD.
It’s super interesting your order goes Less spin More spin Neutral spin
I like the left dash off the tee. I like the firmer feel of the x over the regular ProV. I don't find the difference in spin to be that consequential between any of the balls I listed with the exception of the left dash.

I use the Srixon z star divide. It's durable and I can easily tell it's my ball from a distance. I only buy them when they are on sale though.
Z star diamond
Play Z star’s and think they have more spin on partial wedge shots than many others
The king of z stars, best feel off the tee and amazing greenside spin.
Plus that double dozen box for 70$ is nice !
Z star XV. Performance is great and I love that my group can hit all our tee shots within yards of each other and I can tell which one is mine driving up. The white on these things is crazy

Yup 5 dozen should last the year. That’s what i told my wife
Bridgestone e6, only $2 a ball, doesn’t seem to spin as much as the equally priced callaway supersoft and doesn’t feel sharp/plastic-y like some of the cheaper balls
100% this
Haven’t seen someone post Kirkland yet. 2 dozen for $35.
They play ok, but seem to wear out faster.
That’s my big gripe with them. They’re torched after like 6-7 holes. Even sooner if you’re in the bunker a few times.
I second this.
Taylor made Tour Response. Club fitter gave me 4 balls to review with based on swing metrics. I bought a dozen of each and spent a summer working through them. I liked the feel of the Taylor made best.
TP5x. Like the feel and it performs well in the wind
Maxfli tour x - Price is good, and I like the way they feel off the putter face.
Wilson Triad. Just like the way they play. Can't justify paying more and haven't found cheaper that I like better. But also...Whatever I find.
Right there with you, picked up a bunch of Staff balls on 3 for 2 sale and I think I like Triad better.
I’m with you here. Started playing them this year because I’m not willing to pay$55/dozen for Chrome Soft
ProV1 would be my choice but if I has to pick something else,,, hmmm? Go with Bridgestone or calloway soft
Srixon Soft feels. Load up on the buy 2 get 1 free deal every Father’s Day when they do it. I think I got down to like $1.25 per ball this year
ProV1 from lostgolfballs.
I really wouldn’t do this. The whole reason Titleist balls are so good is the manufacturing consistency. Unless you know the balls haven’t been buffed or repainted, you’re probably better off playing something else.

I like your style then! I would imagine they go to the same well (lake) a lot too so probably not a huge concern.

Noodle Long and Soft
Noodle. Lose less spend less
Ditto. Bad back duffer.
Prov1. They are and have been for thr past 20 years, the best ball in the world. I’m no pro but every other ball simply isn’t as good. Even the other top dollar Titleist variations.
But give me the 5-8’s over the 1-4’s.
I ask for PV1 for fathers day, birthday, xmas. Its a great ball that feels good and checks all my boxes. I generally won't buy them for myself though. I buy Maxfli Tour. It feels and plays about the same for me. And half the cost of PV1.
Srixon Q Star Tour in yellow
We get free Titleist at work from vendors, so I live a stress free life hacking those into the woods
TP5 for spin rates, was kinda of fitted for them. Love them.

Vice pro. I’ve started hitting the ball a little harder and wanted something lower compression with better feel across all clubs. Pro V’s if I were rich but alas I am not, so the Vice Pro is a good compromise imo.
Kirkland Signatures, because they are cheap AF and I'm not that good.
Calm day with my driver on, I will use an extra spinny ball like a prov1x or tp5x. However if it's windy out or I'm having a hard time keeping my driver straight, I'll use the regular version. Winter time (in the pnw) I play the softer balls.
Callaway super soft matte green. Easy on my eyes to follow
How on earth do you find a green ball. 😂
They are like neon green. And really pop. Not sure but they are easier to find for me
affordable, Vice pro or pro plus is the best bang for buck golf ball, kirklands are good but they spin like crazy off the tee. My ball currently is the Chromesoft X LS but i have an extremely high swing speed and that ball will struggle to hold greens with longer irons for most golfers who don’t swing fast enough to get that much spin.
I normally play pro v 1s, just because of the way that it reacts around the green.
SRIXON Z Star - like the soft feel, consistent distance on mid irons, driver distance is +\- 10 yards of other balls, and think their new cover provides good spin on miss hit partial wedges. 95-105 Driver swing speed.
Srixon soft feels. I buy 4 dozen used 5a off ebay every spring and they last me all summer. Only costs me about 50$.
When I actually go buy golf balls and don’t use good forest balls, I like playing Callaway Supersoft Matte Red. I like being the guy with red balls
AAAA Srixon Soft Feel
Usually Callaway Warbird I really enjoy the feel of them and they are relatively budget friendly. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|money_face)

TP5X/Crome tour X/ Prov1x. All perform basically the same for me. I mostly use the TP5X because they come in pix and I love the designs
I like the Srixon z star but they seem to wear out pretty quickly. I got a pack of Snell mtb x and they’re incredible. I think I’ll be sticking with them for a while
Vice pro plus, vice pro, tp5x
Callaway chrome tour
I'm a very firm believer in the Kirkland Performance ball. I love the feel, and they're plenty long off the tee. And even better, at a super affordable price. If price is no object I always gravitate towards Bridgestone Tour BX. However with that being said, I still prefer the Kirkland.
Vice Pro neon lime or Vice Pro Plus shade. I like the ball the price is great and I like the colors
Top Flite X-out hammer. 48 balls for $34, they flight far and straight
i like srixon q star tour, because it's mid compression and at my wimpy swing speed i can actually compress it and it still feels pretty firm off my putter face. gets decent enough spin around the greens.
The beat-up pro v1 that came in the range bucket.
Callaway ERC . Its the ball that gives me the most distance. I don't worry about spin on the green as my short game is a dumpster fire. (Edit for spelling...lol)
Bright ass colored ones. Easier to stay down on the shot and pick up mid flight.
Flame me, call me a fanboy, idc. Prov1 and its variants is the best ball out there. If I’m spending the money, it’s for a prov1x If I’m being cheap, Kirkland all the way. Can’t beat the price to performance ratio
