Over the Garden Wall Ducktales (2017) Amphibia and The Owl House are both excellent but don't have that mystery vibe.

FordBeWithYou

Seconded for Over The Garden Wall. A different beast but same high caliber.

Devious-Smol

ducktales seconded!! i think ducktales is super funny! it’s not the same mystery vibe (well, some of it is) but the humor’s pretty similar!

Niel15

Ducktales for sure. They basically set up a new Disney Afternoon universe, but nothing came of it.

Offroader117

Hilda on Netflix is pretty chill

TreesAndBones

Oh I’ve actually watched that one. And in all honesty it had one of the few series movies I actually enjoyed lol

Offroader117

I'm halfway through season 2. I'm looking forward to the movie :)

TreesAndBones

It’s honestly very good, I still need to watch season three tho lol

donkeylore

Dude watch scooby doo mystery Incorporated if you haven’t. So underrated and pretty similar in a lot of ways, it’s a 2 season long episodic comedy with an overarching serialized mystery. They get away with a lot, it’s the most adult version of animated scooby doo and genuinely hilarious. Lots of twists and turns and great mystery + animation. Highly recommend it and very gravity falls-esque. From around the same time as well but earlier (2010-13 vs 2012-16). I’m telling you, you won’t regret it watch it to the end

Wadsworth1985

I second this, realistically this is the closest you can get to watching a show like Gravity Falls

donkeylore

I wish it was more popular like gravity falls, it’s so GOATED. But among scooby doo fans it’s considered the best show for most people. I don’t wanna say much to avoid spoilers, but it’s very similar to gravity falls in so many ways. And the monsters are amazing

Wadsworth1985

I totally agree! I still think Gravity Falls is better, but Mystery Incorporated is really, really good and it’s crazy that it actually came out first bc of how many similarities there are

donkeylore

For real, spoiler talk so don’t read if you haven’t seen it I’m warning you! >! Especially things like the overall plot / ending having an evil entity / demon, plus the father figure knowing more than he lets off and having ulterior motives for being where they reside (Grunkle stan and mayor jones - even Angel dynamite). Not to mention Pericles being a straight up nazi parrot who kills with SS armed robots - things get pretty horrific toward the end as he consumes the town like Bill does. That freak of crystal cove reveal is top tier. Even Mr. E. / the planispheric disc works similarly to the journal 3 / original author / Ford for the gang, like it is for dipper.!< But fuck it is a great overarching serialized mystery, super compelling and didn’t see any of it coming on my first watch. Super glad I was there to watch both of them air live on TV as a kid. Tho with the benefit of binging nowadays rewatches are never out of the question and you don’t have to wait around.

Wadsworth1985

Nah fr I was a kid when both aired as well and it was an incredible experience! And yeah I know Gravity Falls didn’t steal anything from Mystery Incorporated, I’m not saying that, but still it’s almost eerie how many similar points there are

donkeylore

Yea def not, tho it is strange how many plot points actually line up, I’ve always thought they were similar but looking back they’re a lot closer than I thought. With tons of other differences of course, and a lot of them are general mystery tropes anyway (or have become them). Before I would’ve just said it was mainly because they were both 2 seasons long, episodic comedies with an overarching mystery that’s also serialized. Now I kinda wanna explore these similarities more / list them, maybe do a comparison post who knows. And hopefully turn more people onto the show (with spoiler warnings ofc)

Pitiful-Mortgage5136

Rewatching this on Netflix brings me so much joy

Ok-Adhesiveness-5193

Definitely, I think Scooby doo got me into gravity falls lol

rscapeg

Idk how old you are, but hear me out… The Bear. The first season is all about this guy (Carmy) trying to keep his brother Michael’s business alive after he committed suicide. But the company is in so much debt, and they have funny antics for getting out of it. It is a heavier show, so even I couldn’t binge it… I would do 2-3 episodes and then have to take a break😅This is of course if you’re old enough, I think it’s rated MA.

TreesAndBones

That actually sounds really good lol. And yeah, I’d like to consider myself old enough (16). I’ll have to check it out!

Blorkershnell

I just finished watching season 2 and had to take a break after “Fishes”. That was a fantastic episode.

arrowpaw1

Closest show I've seen to gravity falls is The Owl House. It's almost as good imo.

ScaredSuggestion6320

Depending on your age/how adult you want a show to be, Twin Peaks is really good. It's got some very heavy content so check trigger warnings, but it's a fun, weird show in a mountain town in Washington. There's a lot of kooky townspeople and a compelling mystery.

sPotato_55

These were mentioned on here previously, but Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated (Netflix) is funny and also has a mystery theme. Ducktales 2017 (Disney Plus) is also very funny, but is more so adventure themed than mystery. Similarly, Owl House and Amphibia (both Disney Plus) are funny and have an adventure theme.

HamboJankins

Watching Twin Peaks and falling in love with it led me to watch Gravity Falls from a recommendation on a sub with a question similar to this.

CrazyaboutSpongebob

Its not like Gravity Falls but watch the Disastrous Life of Saiki K. You will probably enjoy it if you love GF. All the episodes are on Netflix.

Fufflin

I don't know what you mean by "fitting the feel" but I really enjoyed "Inside Job". They cancelled it though so don't start watching unless you want to be pissed at Netflix ... again

TreesAndBones

Ugh, every good show that doesn’t immediately get Stranger Things popular immediately is always cancelled before it gets a chance like with what happened with the Society or 1899. Still might check it out tho. Even if it was cancelled there’s always fanfiction continuations lol

Fufflin

There is WHAT?!? \*starts Googling furiously

Basic_Confusion8002

Owl house  She ra

Choosejoose

Adventure time should scratch that itch if it was the crazy and mystery you fell in love with. Steven Universe might also work if you loved the emotional connection part.

DrIvoPingasnik

Hilda

Your_1_and_only_Harv

Paranormal Parc, really good show 👍

fuckyoudeath

I'm not sure if this is really the vibe you're looking for as it's more adult oriented (violence, mild swearing, more mature themes), but Final Space is an amazing show that I personally feel fits the vibe for me, along with shows like Adventure Time, Steven Universe, etc. It's not on any streaming services anymore because the greedy ass HBO execs decided to make it a tax write off, but you can find it on Internet Archive.

RatInYourWallz

Owl house, amphibia, duck tales, kipo, dead end paranormal park, star vs the forces of evil, milo murphys law and Phineas and ferb I find that most of my friends that are gravity falls fans and myself enjoy all these shows

Alarming_Ad7327

star vs the forces of evil!!! i love it so much and while its not super similar to gravity falls you still get all those episodes regarding other dimensions and stuff. its a little less logical but still very good. its also a longer show lol

re-elocution

Infinity Train, especially Season 1 has that Gravity Falls mystery aspect as well as some good emotional gut punches if you're into that.

BillCypher001

Amphibia, The Owl House, and The Dragon Prince are the ones that immediately come to mind.

UrAFrogg

The owl house

thedaemon

X-Files

ezragambler

Craig of the Creek

[deleted]

Scavengers reign gives me a similar vibe though it's is much more adult with darker tones and less humor. It is definitely not geared to kids. Over the garden wall is the closest thing and it rocks!

atinyoctopus

Not a TV show and probably an obvious answer but Welcome to Night Vale

NickyHarper

I dunno. I really liked Rick & Morty, so that could be a good show to watch. Definitely Over The Garden Wall too. Another show I really enjoy as a Gravity Falls fan is The Umbrella Academy, however it doesn't resemble GF a lot.
