I know there have been some 'hybrid' conversion kits in India where they've attached an electric hub motor to one, allowing you to switch back and forth between gas and electric. But if this is an EU emissions issue, there's not much you're going to be able to do. I doubt you'll be able to get some kind of special exception regardless of aftermarket changes.
It already gets a claimed 110mpg, not gonna get better than that lol Electric would be the only “cleaner” option
