We managed to get out to Skagit Valley for what is likely the last bloom of the season. I was blown away! My first time at a flower festival of this size. Shot this on a canon r10 with the RF 24-105 f4
We lived in Seattle for almost 15 years before we made it to the Tulip Festival. We had a great time when we finally went.
I love this picture because, to me, it tells a story. With the reflection, it’s almost like the flower is looking in a mirror contemplating its life. Maybe it’s a little depressed. Maybe it’s the little flower that’s going to overcome adversity and be the tallest flower. Whatever its story is, I feel like the composition is more compelling than the more cliche row of flowers or a single flower in focus with the surrounding flowers slightly blurred - which is exactly what I did. Ha ha.
Great image!!
Ah thank you!! I like to think the tulip is seeing itself for the first time. It’s coming to consciousness. It was super fun to be around a bunch of other photographers and shoot with them. I loved the energy!
I was like "would look better with it standing up so you can see the divide better" until I saw the reflection in the puddle. Just really enhances the viewing experience for me I cant explain why. Great shot.
I don’t think there’s too much mud as much as I think I just want this same picture with a slightly larger perspective so that there’s more sky and more everything

That reflection is perfect
Thank you! :)
Now we just need a yellow tulip to bend down to meet it and we'll have a sick post for r/fakealbumcovers
Like a yellow one from the right side meeting? That'd be perfect

"My friend, you bow to no one"
She's just admiring her reflection in the puddle ;P

He’s just bent not broken
And he can learn to love again
It's interesting and pretty
Amazing!
A fallen tulip, or a misunderstood one reaching for its love?

This should be the image for a war memorial service.
I love this! Tulips are my favorite! This photo makes me think of”opposites attract”
It’s pretty and perfect! Perfect amount of sky and sky reflection in the water!
Thank you so much!! Getting this set up was super fun
I would have bent a yellow one for them to meet in the middle, more meaningful
Know what's better than roses on a piano?
Too much mud in the frame. Just my opinion.
You’re entitled to an opinion! It just might be bad!

The Tulip is saying Hi to friends from across the isle. Weirdly There is more comradery here that across the political divide.
