Since Oxalaia is just Spinosaurus, it could be used to represent a paleo-accurate version.

CauseAggravating5621

Considering oxalaia has Just had the spinosaurus treatment aka all fossils of It were destroyed. Well proably get some inaccurate depictions

Betelguese90

Was that confirmed finally? I know with that fire back in 2018 they weren't sure if the fossils survived or not.

CauseAggravating5621

All fossils were destroyed we Literly are left Just like spinosaurus, the only thing we have to go off It are relatives and photos

Totally_Liar

Oh yeeeees, Deinosuchus, my beloved ❤

antrod117

I don’t understand how they haven’t added the crocodilians. People been asking for it since the first game. Also spino type Dino’s would be cool. Generally I get mad at the Dino packs because I feel like they are essentially the same dinos that are already in the game but we could use more spino types

Kratosvg

Because they dont really care, if you compare Jurassic world with planet zoo, you will see how planet zoo is a far better game than JWE, even if they are made by the same studio, JWE just get the short end of the stick becasue the name sells, if you want that in a dinosaur game, i sugest you play prehistoric kingdom, in one of last year update, they made swiming animation for all the animals, so you can have a land/aquatic spino. Mahajangasuchus

I’m pretty sure it’s because they would need an entirely new habitat system. They aren’t fully aquatic but they aren’t terrestrial either, they would need to add an amphibious kind of category which would be way more work than making new rigs. It’d be a great feature of a potential JWE3 but is too big to tackle as a DLC.

antrod117

I’ve never played planet zoo but how do they handle crocs in that game?

_MineCad_

Isn't Oxalaia just a Spinosaurus?

YaRinGEE

great pack and all but i feel like Oxalaia and Deinosuchus would already kinda fill the role of a Paleo-Accurate Spino variant and Purussaurus. It makes adding the last two/first two kind of redundant. Unless Frontier spices it up somehow(like Universal with the Tarbosaurus so it's not just a Rex clone), I don't see a point to have two of essentially the same animal.

CauseAggravating5621

Oxalaia Will proably become in accurate as soon as we find new fossils for It.

Kratosvg

Oxalaia is just spinosaurus, why both of them? Oxalaia is a very speculative species, they found barely anything and just made him up based on Spinosaurus, who back then was not the "aquatic stork" that he is today. better to just use a Scientific accurate spinosaurus. AlmightyHet

1. i love it 2. Their hipothesized range is literally separated by the entire atlantic ocean. There is no way in hell Spinosaurus could span over from Rio De La Plata to the Lower Nile.

Kratosvg

Sure, but he did probably never existed in the first place, not the form they are using today, there was 3 pieces of fossil, there was nothing confirming it did have sail, they just filled the gaps with spinosaurus, t hey did the same with spinosaurus using bary and sucho, now with more studies, spinosaurs is nothing like that, and oxalia stays in that limbo. and we lost those fragmentary fossils in a fire thats happened in the museus, so now we got nothing anymore. i rather have scientific accurate Spinosaurus

AlmightyHet

You do realize that half of the Spinosauridae family tree is either nomen-dubium or unconfirmed extremely fragmentary specimens? I'll quickly list these out for you. - Cristatisaurus - Suchomimus - Ostafrikasaurus - Ceratosuchops - Sigilmasasaurus - Angaturama - Riporavenator - Riojavenatrix - Iberospinus. Also most of these are debated to belong under the Baryonyx taxa.

Kratosvg

Yeah, i even cited suchomimus up there.

JDMcDuffie

I get that you want a paleo variant spinosaurus, but I feel like that would directly contradict the movies. Also, it would open a can of worms

AlmightyHet

you realize that many species have 2 or more body variants that in one way or another directly contradict each other, right

Puzzleheaded_Sink467

Do you have any idea how many variants in the game "directly contradict the movies"? It doesn't matter, and no one cares about the canon except when when they are trying to win an argument about "what should be in the game"

JDMcDuffie

Not reading that lmao

Puzzleheaded_Sink467

Its two sentences 🤣. But you're right you should prob pay more attention to your Language Arts class

JDMcDuffie

Don't care. Waste more time
