If you're in the Johnson County area, Tabletop Gaming and Cardboard Corner are great. They have regular events to try out different games, a Discord where you can look for people to play with, and a large selection of games in the cafe. I'd invite you to a game, but I only get out there sporadically.
I'm gonna pile on here and say that if Cardboard Corner is awesome. Join their Discord server and get a great way to get notified about upcoming events and games you can join. People are always happy to teach new games. It's a nice free way to see what kind of games, and people, interest you!
If you want to learn mechanics I build motorcycles and am always looking for people to hang in the shop. It's more fun with people and you will learn how to build motorcycles.
Edit: I am just a normal dude...not a "hey brother" biker. I am an engineer and I used to work with my hands a lot. The bike building is just a fun hobby that allows me to still work with my hands after doing enginerd work all week.
I have owned and built "hey brother" bikes also. The way is see it...I don't care if it's a clapped out moped, a supermoto, some hack job cafe or a 50k CVO...if it's got two wheels and puts a smile on your face, I'm into it.
I just got a complete basket case Suzuki T500 twin two stroke I am starting to tear apart. Street legal two stroke twin....gonna be a fun one!
I just moved here a few months ago for a job. I'm also an engineer, used to work construction before I got my bachelor's at 32. I don't have any immediate desire to build bikes, but I am looking for new friends and a place to use my welders to make weird art--my apartment isn't really ideal for welding. I'd pay you for the electricity if I could weld while you build in your shop. If not, I'd def come kick it just to kick it and learn a thing or two about building brappps. Hit me up.
I am also looking for friends and things to do, which is seemingly more difficult the older I get.
