First of all, congratulations on your beautiful & precious addition to your family. I have a Fox Red Lab & a German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP); both are almost 4 months old. Yes, you will need to FEED separately. I have one other dog - a 4 yr old black lab. I put all 3 dog bowls on the counter while the 2 pups & my lab sit in kitchen (although the GSP counter surfs at times). Once meds & food are ready, I say “crate,” and the two pups go to their separate crates as I walk the food to the den & place the bowl in each crate. The black lab remains in the kitchen & when I return, I place his bowl in the feeder in three kitchen. The puppies bark once when they have licked their bowls clean & are ready to come out of their crates. TRAINING-Yes, training will be separate. I have to train in garage, one puppy at a time, while my husband either walks the other pup & dog for 10 min or entertains them with a brain/scent activity in a different room in the house. Training is about 10 Min per puppy- they are almost 4 months old. The GSP is easily distracted. The lab is quick to learn & motivated by treats. BONDING-My lab (4 yrs old) took only a few days to adjust to the new addition of 2 puppies. I got the side-eye for a few days from him but after a week, he could not decide whether he was their mom or just going to be the “referee.” They now lick his ears & I’ve seen him gently lick their paws until they are sparkling clean. 🥰 He seemed to take to the male lab first, but is just as gentle & close to the female GSP. I am going to guess yours will do the same; especially since they are closer in age and your older pup will be more playful. The two puppies did a lot of play fighting, but when it got too aggressive (only during the first 2-3 wks that we had them), we shut that down right away. It was as if they got over-stimulated & we had to separate & redirect. Not sure you will experience any of that since you’ve got an older pup. Wishing you the very best!!

Thanks for the tips! The bonding is going well. First few days older girl wasn't sure, now they snuggle some, and I think she can't wait until the pup gets bigger for some serious play! Feeding has gone well with them being across the kitchen from each other. Good to know on the training - I figured I'd have to do that.

Yes, some serious play is coming. 🤗 I did not focus a great deal on training other than name recognition, sit, come & off. I focused more on developing trust & bond w/ them. 🩵🐾🩷
