Not the OP, but I've got a little less land than him. Not all of it grass. I manage with a 54" Toro. It takes some time but it's manageable. The wide swath path cutters were way too out of my budget.
What are all you ZTR guys doing drinking while cutting? I put a beer in the cup holder and it spilled everywhere while I was moving.
Maybe I need a mixed drink in a Stanley mug instead!
Personally, I drink water mixed with Gatorade, no alcohol; my lawn is bumpy so I do have to pay attention snd have tossed my cup a couple times. I know where the bumps are but I’ve seen snakes on more than one occasion.
Yeah, I have to keep both hands on steering all the time. Plenty of bumpy spots in this yard. Maybe one of those beer dispensing baseball helmets with the straws!
Correct on all points, still plenty of sugar but I water it down; I actually use an old OJ jug with 3/4 water and 1 bottle of Gatorade. The first thing in my 32 oz yeti, is Ice.🍻. Yellow is my favorite!
Congrats man. That's the best pic u could possibly take. 1. Large ass lawn. 2. Well mowed. 3. No neighbors. 4. Feet up relaxing in the shade of big trees.
Well done bro. Congrats. Only thing missing is a cold beer in the hand In the pic....
Trying this on half of my 6 acres but it's very time consuming and very expensive. Dealing with invasives is a full time job. It's not something to do unless you have a LOT of spare time or you'll end up with something worse for the environment than the mowed grass.
I have slight;y less than one acre with a few obstacles ,(trees, electrical box , a few fence posts). I use a ariens 52” Kawasaki powered mower, not counting string trimming or edging or the occasional weeding, it takes me 1 hour plus from the time I start it up to the time I put it away, which includes oil check and blowing the blower off of all debris and plugging it back in to my NOCO charger. No way is this taking an hour unless you have a super powered like a slag or a grasshopper
I’m also not talking about mowing. Why are people making all these assumptions? I never said an hour. I know it’s time consuming but nothing impossible. Removing sod with a sod remover. I never even said the whole yard either. Just a patch.
I dont think you realize how big a few acres is and how difficult it is to stop it from being overrun by Bradford pears, white mulberry, burning bush, and honeysuckle. Or whatever your local overrunning invasive is.
Is this a farm? How much does a 5 acre lot with a house cost in Louisiana?
Do you have staff? Maintaining everything must be a full time job for a team of people, no?
Not a farm, but there are cattle next door to us. I maintain this myself. It's a few hours of work per week.
House is 3,800 sq. ft. + the 5 acres. Was right at $500k.
It's certainly not for everyone. I grew up on a 3 acre tract surrounded by woods, and have been acclimated to yard maintenance from an early age.
It's incredibly peaceful to sit in the shade and just look at the yard.
Being along the Gulf Coast we get lots of tropical storm activity, hurricanes, etc. That's honestly the worst part about it. Having to handle lots of downed limbs from wind takes more time and effort than anything. Luckily my 16 year old is becoming quite the helper.
You didn't move to a new home. You moved to an estate.
And that’s not a lawn. That’s “the grounds”
You can no longer be called crazy, you are now eccentric.
Release the hounds!
Right away Mr. Burns
Bro owns a park.
FR - my wife and I joke about walking the estate and we’re done in half the time as OP.

Thanks! Looking forward to many years of fun with the kids back there.
Can I be your kid? I come with 2 additional kids. I’ll bring some beer
Nice yard, now wash your feet!
They get dirty from the mile walk from the house to the chair
That’s a lawn mower
Right!? So many free feet pics lately!
What size mow you running for all that ?
19 inch pusher... ...would not be something I would use on this lawn
1987 Snapper. Kid ten paces behind with a bubble mower.
60" deck on my Lazer Z. 5 acres in total on the lot, but 1.5 is wooded, so only mowing 3.5. Takes me around an hour and 20 minutes for mowing.
Not the OP, but I've got a little less land than him. Not all of it grass. I manage with a 54" Toro. It takes some time but it's manageable. The wide swath path cutters were way too out of my budget.
How come nobody's blowing up about this guy's feet?! 🤣
I’m just thinking about how sketchy that is to mow in sandals.
What's sketchy about mowing in sandals? It's not a walk behind.
I wear closed toe shoes, hearing protection, gloves and glasses. I guess that makes me a nerd.
I do wear hearing and eye protection always. Usually do wear shoes.
Cheers. Lawn looks great by the way. Enjoy!
It's a riding mower at least 🤷🏼♀️
you bastard that’s incredible.
That's not a lawn that's a field
It does need some tending to in terms of weeds and such. I need to learn about seeding and fertilizing, perhaps.
I think he meant in terms of size but yes seed and fertilize. Right now is the time before summer hits
Beautiful! What state is this?
This is in South Louisiana.
How did I know. It’s got plantation vibes for sure. Beautiful property though.
ridiculous back yard. very jealous OP
This sub is a hidden gem for feet pics.
Where's the beer?
Nice little small tho
Nice grass, but photo incomplete without a stogie and beverage of choice 🤣🔥💨💨
Get the right playlist or beverage and mowing this would be therapeutic AF.

Your next job is sand leveling….as to not spill your drink of course.
Yeah, I have to keep both hands on steering all the time. Plenty of bumpy spots in this yard. Maybe one of those beer dispensing baseball helmets with the straws!
Water mixed with Gatorade is the best. Especially yellow. Still plenty of sugar and flavor but way more hydrating. Especially ice cold!
Correct on all points, still plenty of sugar but I water it down; I actually use an old OJ jug with 3/4 water and 1 bottle of Gatorade. The first thing in my 32 oz yeti, is Ice.🍻. Yellow is my favorite!
Solid.
Looks nice and peaceful. Congrats!
Looks great. Just love the trees on either side. So cozy.
Lawn? Brother, that's a field.
Dream mow
That’s a beautiful park you have there. Imagine the 4th of July BBQ possibilities!
Thinking about doing a visqueen waterside down the slope for the kids!
I’m seeing some Gridiron! Our family tackled though 😂good times!
For freeeee?!?!
Looks great! Minus the dirty feet lol
Nice!! What did you get the house for if you don’t mind me asking? I’m in California and my yard is tiny….
$500k
It’s crazy that $500k barely gets you a condo in some cities, and elsewhere in the same country you can buy a 5 acre estate! Living the life!
Everything about this is beautiful
Bro ready to lose some fingers
Congrats man. That's the best pic u could possibly take. 1. Large ass lawn. 2. Well mowed. 3. No neighbors. 4. Feet up relaxing in the shade of big trees. Well done bro. Congrats. Only thing missing is a cold beer in the hand In the pic....
Wow. Enjoy. That’s beautiful
Please seed and fertilize and update in 1 month
This looks like Happy Gilmore’s grandmas backyard
I cannot believe people use heavy equipment without shoes. It’s so mind boggling to me lol. Congrats regardless
Yes daddy Candy
that's an amazing property... congrats
Looks great! What area is this? I want to buy a house with a lawn this big lol 😂😂
South Louisiana!
Preparing the polo grounds!
Billy Madison
OP, damn right it is. I only have two and it’s zen time!
Damn, sasquatch, you ever think about shaving your feet?
How many acres is it , look gorgeous
5 total. 3.5 gets mowed
So much spaceeeeee
If you build it, they will come.
This sub is just people showing off their multi million dollar homes
Not this one. Not even close.
Looks great man! Congratulations, enjoy it
What a view! Update us with each season
Will do!
For a second I thought you grabbed your lawn chair and decided to walk 3.7 miles away from your back door to sit down and enjoy the grass
LazerZ doubles as a sweet lawn throne! King of his castle right there. Thing of beauty!!
LOL! I do have some chairs behind where I took this pic next to my bonfire spot.
Must be a scenic bonfire!
Stop with the feet pics. Unless ur a hot woman leave them out of the pic. Nice lawn
Use some of that space for a native prairie.

It’s not that time consuming if you are just removing grass.

I very much do. But I was never talking about a few acres. Just a small patch
Is this a farm? How much does a 5 acre lot with a house cost in Louisiana? Do you have staff? Maintaining everything must be a full time job for a team of people, no?

Thanks. I'm in the Vancouver, Canada region and I had to pay so much for a fraction of what you have there. You are living my dream.
I’m all for lawn care. I just never quite understood the need for an acre or more of finely cut grass

NICE FEET!
