āCamera anglesā doesnāt really work when itāsā¦animation. This isnāt a real life documentary or news report where the camera crew can choose to exclude things lol. Itās animation, so if they were there they wouldāve been shown

AudreyCosmoās comic does a good job of explaining where her group was. While I donāt agree with the choice she made of Kovuās parentage - the rest of the comic is solid AF.
The writers of TLK2 did a bad job in their storytelling choices but itās still a worthy sequel.
Yes, who knows. It seems feasible that (and it was a long reign, long enough for Simba to grow up) that Scar did have his own supporters, perhaps a son, and even time to confer with neighboring prides. Perhaps, Zira led a bunch of them on some mission beforehand, then came back later (after film) to find Simba had taken the throne. As it is said in TLK II, Kovu is not the son of Scar, so perhaps she and her group led a mission to steal him as a young cub from another pride on Scar's order, so he could have a viable son. Who knows. The point is, there is a lot of ambiguity with the first film, which actually makes the ability for storytelling increase. However, that is a matter of whether such storytelling is done correctly...
If we made Zira just an evil cunty lion and not a Scar fanatic, can she come back? Her voice is so powerful, legit one of my favorites in animation even if her motives were... poorly written lmao
The characters of TLK2 are all good and well written. Itās the plot that sucks! Mostly the pacing.
Iām drunk enough rn but someday I will write a whole rewrite of TLK2 that makes it make sense.
Give me Zira with her presence and voice from TLK2 with her motivations and ideology from Lion Guard and you have an EXCELLENT villain for this kind of world. Itās a shame that both interpretations retroactively ruin each other lol
Maybe a bridge between the two could be Zira pushing 'lions over all other species' and Scar sweating her off about it because he was indebted to the hyenas. The mutiny after Scar was dethroned was against Simba because of that, not because they were deeply devoted to Scar as a default. Who knows!
The fewer Lion King shows/movies you like, the more accepted you are by TLK fandom.
