I just recently learned this myself! I have 3 color points, which are all mixed and have different heritage! Every color point seems to have a "personality", for example, my flame points are for the most part orange, my torbie point is SIC and orange for the most part SIC! All three have extremely different colors and personality that seem to match with the color description! I love them all so much!
Plus my recently acquired hit by a car broken but healed SIC. she is a hyper mess named Miracle!

Stray, perhaps, but not feral. Feral cats generally want nothing to do with humans and take an extremely long time to tame unless they are young kittens.
He is a beautiful seal (black) lynx point domestic longhair. He’s definitely welcome here.
I am so grateful for you,OP! Sadly, many “stray cats” are abandoned by people who just leave the cat when they move, or stop looking for the cat when s/he get out. I think abandoned cats - especially adults-suffer the cruelest fate of all outdoor cats: someone they once loved and relied on left them for dead (yes, I do mean _dead_. Abandoning a cat whose not had the opportunity to develop hunting skills and knows no other life than being fed and safety- is leaving that cat for dead).
It breaks my heart that people could be so rotten, but then people like OP come along, and rescue one of these lost souls, and make things a little bit better. Thanks for you OP!
It really breaks my heart too! Despite half the comments telling me there’s no way that he was feral, his vet and I are pretty confident that he was feral. But I took in another cat in 2022 who was CERTAINLY one of those abandoned or lost cats, and I just can’t understand how anyone could do such a thing! She is such a sweetheart. I agree with you 100% - it’s one of the worst kinds of cruelty.
I would guess he's a Lynxie, but with the the caveat I'm right about 40 % of the time. He is a stunning kitty! He looks like a big puff ball with legs, it's so cute. He has such a beautiful coat. Bless you for taking him in, you're an angel.

I think he’s a lynx point but doesn’t sound feral
if the cat is staying in the same space as you without hiding itself or hissing/threatening to attack, it’s not a feral.
