I vaguely remember JJ telling a story about how she used to date Ashton Kutcher pre-fame, and he told her she’d never make it in Hollywood or something insulting. Now January is no Meryl Streep, but she has SAG awards from MM and has, to the best of my knowledge, never publicly defended a serial rapist.
I feel like she’s not a bad actress, she’s inconsistent, because there’s times where her facial expressions will be spot on but her vocal delivery is flat.
I know JJ is no Meryl Streep, but her portrayal of Betty Draper is so iconic that I cannot look at JJ and not think of Betty and all of her quirks, flaws and magnificence!

The point of Betty was actually better with her shitty acting. That she got other jobs after that always kind of cracked me up. I cannot imagine hiring that woman for any role ever again.
