Heās got no pants onā¦.Or do you think itās just a coincidence that he forgot to put them on today and sit on that bench?
Interesting that heās just like, Iāll only show cock, I canāt be getting sunburnt shoulders today.
It's for the nude bike thing.
I personally think it's really weird that we tolerate guys walking around with their dicks out for an event but if it was a solo guy we'd call the cops for them being a pervert.
Because being naked isn't illigal, intent to cause offence is. Kids seeing you naked through your window because you forgot to close your blinds is fine, you opening the blinds so passing kids can see you watching them is not.Ā This is a planned advertised and approved event. No offence intended unless you're a wowser who thinks being naked is always sexual.Ā
...but why do we? Just because it's an event doesn't mean that people can have their dicks out and people walking by can and will most likely see them, and most likely OP was that person who happened to walk by
Yeah people are so weird. I'm personally a nudist myself and this no sexual energy or anything close to it at nudist events. In fact most places have a fuck up once rule and you're out. It's very friendly and you forget everyone is naked 5mins into it
"Won't somebody pleeease think of the children!!"
Yea ... nah.
Do you cover your kids eyes when you go to an art gallery and look at the Renaissance paintings, or hurry them past?
Nudity is perfectly natural and essentially our normal state. Shoving it under a blanket of shame, unrequired sexuality, moral outrage or what ever reason makes you unable to handle this actually makes the situation worse rather than better.
Your attitude demonises the naked human body for no good reason.
I think a group of naked people should be treated the same as an individual.
I just don't want to see naked people while out and about. I don't care that it's for an event, and seeing more than one makes it worse.
Well there's no logic behind it either way, but I wish they'd piss off to a beach or something.
We have nudist resorts, I don't know why they have to be nude in front of kids for charity. Guess I'm a prude, maybe teachers could do it at work? For the environment. Just a laugh! So natural!
The long bow youāve drawn of a kid incidentally seeing these guys doing a charity bike ride, to a teacher coming to work nude in a classroom of kids is pretty ridiculous.
Yes youāre a prude. None of these dudes (or chicks) have hard ons or are getting off on it, itās a bit of fun once a year and itās things like this that make our world interesting, and showcase the freedoms we have in this part of the world, and no Iāve never partaken in anything like this.
āWonāt somebody please think of the children!ā - No kid is losing any sleep over this tonight.
Not sure how a beach would be any different to a park either.
I thought oh that poor bloke on the park bench just trying to have a rest and got caught up in this exhibitionists meet up. Then I realised he has no pants on lol
Many younger people aren't game to do things like this. Older folk are well into the phase of not giving a shit what people think. Guys are also typically more likely to get involved with nudism than women, for a number of reasons.
Id say actually you just have many less women who ordinarily might want to turn up, don't because they're afraid of being harassed. Which really goes to show why we need more of this, to counter harassment culture.
Its like letting your teens drink alcohol under supervision. The idea is that if the relationship with alcohol is casual, then they're less likely to behave badly when they do drink.
The taboo around sexual expression makes things worse.
And also, most of Australia just needs to grow the fuck up about bodies. And this helps kids not grow up into stunted dumblefucks who need to grow the fuck up, like these nimbies in here.
Well hopefully no punctures, the last thing you want when your member is out in public is to start vigourusly pumping away.
Err granted, it could be the first thing you want for some of you lovely Reddit people.
For every person pearl-clutching about perverts or harassment culture in this thread, there are ten people who didn't feel the need.
Don't let the vocal minority lead you to conclusions about culture, I reckon. Look up sociology studies or something more reputable to get a real gauge of Australian prudishness.
I donāt think thereās any sociological studies, but there was an unofficial one that said we win the prize for sluttiest country.
We are pretty sex neutral here. Like at 31 Iād find it odd if my partner had only had sex with one or two people. Like it would warrant an explanation.
Well you see I've already done extensive anthropological and psychological studies on the Australian people and their typical mindset and come to the conclusion that they are, in fact, prudes. But thanks anyway.
You havenāt been here long or met a lot of Aussiesā¦ they think theyāre ādecentā and āproperā, when actually, they can be more stuck up and prude than the poms.
There's no need for the nudity in public though, doesn't matter if it's once a year or once a week a year. Go be nude, that's fine but do it at nudist beach or something, not out and about where kids can see.
It's a protest for cyclist safety called "The World Naked Bike Ride" Where cyclists become more visible in the eyes of drivers if they're nude. It's absolutely necessary.
Honestly, it just makes me think of the injuires if they have an accident. I dont see how this raises awareness. If they all wore extreme high-vis, had super loud bells, and multiple flashing lights on their group ride, i think it would make more of an impact. More cyclists would attend too. No one here is talking about road safety, they are talking about dicks.
That's a good point. The only thing being discussed here is whether nudity is ok in public or not. Nobody is talking about about cycling safety at all so regardless of your stance on the nudity thing, the question is is it actually effective in its goal? I would say no š¤·āāļø
Exactly, they limit their numbers by making it a nude ride as well. More people will come if they dont have to risk the Aussie sun in Feb to all parts of their body! If there were 300 people riding bikes dressed as clowns honking those crazy horns, I would wonder what that was about and look to find out. Old nude men? I see enough if that already! (I work in healthcare).
The whole point is that motorists couldn't give a shit even if you wore high vis with a siren on your head, but if you ride your bike naked then drivers don't take their eyes off you.
There's plenty of bike meetups surrounding safety in Melbourne, but people seem to talk more about this one because Australians are shocked and appalled by nudity for some weird reason.
Just because your happy to have kids see nude strangers doesn't mean other people will be. It's good that they see nude people? that kinda thinking ends with a nice sentence and cellmate.
if kids learned more about the human anatomy at a younger age including diverse body types and by extension diverse genitalia weād have a society with a better approach to how we think about ourselves and our bodies, lest we lead kids to think if they donāt look perfect like those in the media that we highlight and put on a pedestal that they have failed and need to alter themselves to be āenoughā.
or for their first time learning about other genitalia to be p*rn they find on the internet leading to unrealistic expectations and standards regarding how anyone is meant to look down there.
teaching kids that **nudity doesnāt equate to sex** is important and a part of learning about consent as well.
Are you serious? Why would kids care about seeing the most simple normal thing which is a human being. Itās not like itās a sexual eventā¦ itās just people with no clothes.
I think it's pretty funny personally.
Even without the body paint or signage if you saw a large cluster of nude people cycling you'd assume it's for a cause or similar. Bit different to like one weirdo nude in public.
Hopefully they put up signs on their meeting place/route so if you've got kids you can avoid. But nudity shouldn't always be sexualised it's just skin.
Based on the pics you'd barely be able to see anythinh anyway
I dunno about thisā¦ coming from Berlin weāre super used to public nudity at places like lakes and parks and the beach of course but I think there is something nice about people all sitting around a lake and swimming and enjoying the sunā¦ the sheer concentration of bodies in some random and not very scenic setting here just feels like it should be somewhere else???
The fact that people think its immoral to be naked in front of a child is exactly why this event should happen. All studies show theres no negative effects of growing up in a naturist community/household. This obsession with being disgusted by the human body causes over sexualisation of it.
Seriously tf is going on in this sub? What is prude about not wanting to see a bunch of naked old men? Especially when your child is accompanying you. They can whatever they want but if I have my small child with me, I'm avoiding this at all costs.
I'm confused, where do these people take their kids to get changed at the pool? I definitely saw some old guy dicks before I was old enough to go into the ladies change room by myself (dad usually took us swimming).
A small child would not give a fuck. They might be curious, or maybe even find it funny, but it is not damaging in any way. What is prudish is kicking up a stink over something that actually isnāt harmful. You donāt have to stare at their genitalia (but donāt pretend you didnāt do just that).
I dont have a problem with them doing what they're doing. I have a problem with people trying to shame other people for not wanting their children to see a cackle of naked old men.
Seeing nudity in a non-sexual context is gonna ruin your child???? Are you American because you sound like a religious moron. It's completely natural and it's good a thing as natural as nudity is being de-sexualised.
P.s. don't go to any classical art museums, your child might suffer irreparable trauma. Oh the horror!
Do you have children? However, I'll raise my kid the way I want to raise him thanks. He is happy, sweet, fun and hasn't seen old man dick and balls so he is going well.
How I raise my not even 3 year isn't going to change because some hero on the internet said some dumb shit.
Edit: + I don't need to try and make myself look more sophisticated to impress random strangers on the internet. Classical museums are boring as hell and wouldn't catch me there in a million years.
Facts. If somebody exposes their twig and berries to you, itās indecent exposure and illegal. But if Iām going on a pleasurable Sunday stroll with my old crusty white dog, and my eyes are exposed to a behemoth of cocks and cottage cheese dracula butts, without my consent, it somehow becomes fine and people ask āwhatās up with all the prudes in melbourne????ā
At the end of the day old mate gets to decide what his daughter does and does not see. Do I want my child to see a bunch of naked old men? No I don't. For the sake of teaching him about nudity being normal and not just sexual? No I do not. There's much less traumatising ways to go about this.
No itās a terrible example/opportunity and I will choose how and when. Walking around naked in public is far from normal.
Scenario 1:
I walk around corner in city with daughter and a man opens his coat and flashes us out the blue.
CRIME.
Scenario 2:
I walk around a corner with daughter and find multiple people naked out of the blue.
NOT CRIME?
Theres nothing normal about this scenario.
Well tbh though with your examples there is a difference - one seems to a sexually perverted act, and the other is just an expression of body freedom.
Different societies and cultures have different acceptances of nudity but it doesn't mean this situation is inherently bad.
It's kind of an interesting point though. I personally don't know where I sit on it, but it's strange that the intent of the person doing the act is what makes it a crime/not a crime.
I'm not that bothered that a bunch of people want to do a nude bike ride but I can understand it's not everyone's cup of tea and I definitely wouldn't have the self confidence to do it.
This is one if those weird double standard topics that pops up every now and then and a load of people say they are in favour of great masses of society deciding they want to start walking around naked and anyone who disagrees is a sad prude and shouldn't inflict their backwards views on others.
Imagine some random, average dude stark naked on the street. You would be calling the police or flagging people to be careful. Or on the bus. Or in Coles. I think it's disingenuous to say that wouldn't make most people uncomfortable. I'd hate to be stuck on a crowded train with a bunch of naked people after a long day of work.
Iāve seen some comments mention the distinction between an act being sexual or non-sexual, which I agree with. But also that it depends on the āViewerāsā interpretation.
And I think thatās where the issue lies, it isnāt up to us to decide how our actions are interpreted, and whether they are right or wrong for doing so.
Expand that outwards to children, it has the potential to make a child uncomfortable, and possibly intimidated. It could be regarded as an abuse of power. An older person is putting a child in a position where they have no choice but to view explicit material. Without the capabilities of being able to remove themselves or make informed decisions about that situation. They may also not understand the difference between something being sexual or non-sexual, which makes it hard for those situations to be navigated.
Nudity is fine. But not everyone wants to see it. So you have to respect others.
Also why is it always 95% old men ? If nudism or naturism is so wonderful and wholesome why do we never see families or an equal number of women ?
It isn't the nudity per se that is offensive it is the suss composition of said nudes.
Partly our culture.
Look at say Europe on one hand. Lots more non sexual female nudity in public. Or say the middle east where they would consider how women in Australia dress at a swimming pool to be depraved.
And to add to this I still think itās reliant on Context, Consent and Communication. These are Contexts where it makes sense or it has been agreed upon that nudity is ok. And people have consented to be there/be nude. It has also been communicated to the wider public, that there will be nudity, and they can then make the informed decision to go, knowing there will be nudity or avoid it if they would prefer.
I truly believe that consent is the most important thing here, and in public, consent is not being gained or agreed upon. And that is the problem.
Society has norms and laws that are not there to necessarily govern every upstanding citizen but to protect against individuals who would abuse situations and pose a danger to wider society. So in essence they actually govern a relatively small percentage of society. And the reverse is true, they are also there to protect marginal vulnerable communities.
Consent may not be a legal requirement, but the premise still remains. We just had a thread here not long ago where 95% agreed it was unethical for a street photographer just go up in your face and snap a photo, even if it were legal and could be done so without consent.
Please don't think in binary terms.
Usually I would agree but this group does this ride specifically to get attention - it's a charity ride for bike safety. The goal of the whole thing is to draw peoples attention and get bike safety into the news/on social media so that more people are talking about it.
So I don't think it's a problem to take their photo in this case, because that's sort of the goal of the whole thing. It would be different if they were just going about their regular day.
I'm a little bit devastated that this post - 5/6th of the way down in my comments section - seems to be the first to mention bike safety.
So it would appear the ride isn't working as intended š, but bike safety is incredibly important because in many instances it's literally a case of life or death.
Cyclists make mistakes. Drivers make mistakes. Pedestrians make mistakes. We all need to work together, not lose our cool and not rush to our destination to make sure as many people as possible get home safely each and every day.
N.B. saw them too while cycling home from lunch!
I'm no puritan, and am not offended by nudity, but I find this disgusting. Every single one of them looks like melting wax. Is this the only time these blobs ride their bicycles?
Thatās how people look when they age and are not posing for an airbrushed photo. Those who take care about their appearance will get to that state 10 years later
Do you really think only regular bike riders care about bike safety?
*Personally I used to bike a fair bit, and now I don't. I moved to a new place and it's just harder around here. But I still care about bike safety even though I don't have a bike anymore. I also care because I have friends and family who ride bikes. And honestly you SHOULD care even if you don't know a single person who rides a bike, because we should all care about each other's safety. For all we know some of those people are people who have experienced a loved one being in a major accident on a bike. Do they not have the right to care and try and do something to bring attention and donations to the issue?*
Also do you really think you can tell who bike rides regularly based on looking at someone?
*Newsflash - going for a bike ride every weekend isn't going to magically make you super skinny. It's not going to change genetics or diet or medications or medical conditions. It doesn't magically change your desk job into an active job. A lot of people who are fat are actually active pretty regularly. I think most of these people are probably bike riders because otherwise where did they all get bikes from? How did they all find out about a cycling event? Why do they care enough to look like dickheads in order to bring attention to bike safety?*
I have no desire to ride around naked, or to see them do it, but I admire that they care about something enough to do something about it. I'm gonna go donate, mostly because I feel bad that they have to deal with insufferable pricks like you, who can't just move on if they see something they don't really like.
Cyclist safety is just one of the purposes of the ride. It's also a protest about environment, as well as body positivity. Given its likely a majority of participants are nudists, they're likely there for the latter.
Exactly this. Children don't give a fuck. It's a person in the distance, without clothes. It'll be odd because it's out of the ordinary. Likely get the same reaction from a child were they to see something else unexpected, like a cow casually wandering through a city street.
Um.. because children didn't (and can't consent) to seeing it. We aren't in the Pleistocene era. Even cave men wore loin cloths or similar.
My question to you is, what's the issue with not wanting children to see adults they don't know, nude?
There's nothing wrong with children seeing nudity, it's perfectly natural. Do you think it's immortal for kids to be naked when swimming for example?
I'm sure loincloths serve a purpose in protecting genitalia but I don't think cavemen cared as much about modesty.
Iām the weirdo?
These people are doing absolutely nothing wrong.
There should be no qualms with nudity.
Because they are naked it doesnāt make them sexual deviants or rapists.

Yeah there's a nude bike run today, nothing to do with heat.
Would be slightly more embarrassing if it were 21 though
It's for the nude bike thing. I personally think it's really weird that we tolerate guys walking around with their dicks out for an event but if it was a solo guy we'd call the cops for them being a pervert.
Don't give them any ideas. Unionised perverts will fully exploit this loophole.

Theyāre not doing anything sexual.
I think a group of naked people should be treated the same as an individual. I just don't want to see naked people while out and about. I don't care that it's for an event, and seeing more than one makes it worse.
Then donāt look.
But don't the cyclists then get run over, thus causing the opposite of the intended effect? I'm actually really confused about this.
Damn bro have you tried maybe like getting over yourself or something
Well there's no logic behind it either way, but I wish they'd piss off to a beach or something. We have nudist resorts, I don't know why they have to be nude in front of kids for charity. Guess I'm a prude, maybe teachers could do it at work? For the environment. Just a laugh! So natural!

Why is it 90% elderly white guys?
Many younger people aren't game to do things like this. Older folk are well into the phase of not giving a shit what people think. Guys are also typically more likely to get involved with nudism than women, for a number of reasons.

Exactly. Critical mass rides happen almost every month. Lots of participants and noise, but they barely get a blip on anyone's radar.
Kids aren't harmed by this. I'm tired of you people being so ridiculous, "But the kids will see!" Fucking who cares? Good.

I'm confused, where do these people take their kids to get changed at the pool? I definitely saw some old guy dicks before I was old enough to go into the ladies change room by myself (dad usually took us swimming).
I did too, but as a child it made me uncomfortable and I found it intimidating.
Why would someone want that for their child? I don't get it.
Repeat after me. Nudity is natural. Nudity is not harmful to anybody of any age.
like the kids arent googling bobs and vagines anyways, nudity is not going to harm them, in fact you will find they are quite interested
Facts. If somebody exposes their twig and berries to you, itās indecent exposure and illegal. But if Iām going on a pleasurable Sunday stroll with my old crusty white dog, and my eyes are exposed to a behemoth of cocks and cottage cheese dracula butts, without my consent, it somehow becomes fine and people ask āwhatās up with all the prudes in melbourne????ā
where exactly is this so I can avoid bumping into this nonsense with my daughter?
Lincoln Square near Melbourne Uni bro.
Thanks mate.
Reminds of IASIP. "Oh my God that's disgusting, where?"
It's a good opportunity to teach your daughter that nudity is completely normal and not inherently sexual
Scenario 1: I walk around corner in city with daughter and a man opens his coat and flashes us out the blue. CRIME. Scenario 2: I walk around a corner with daughter and find multiple people naked out of the blue.
Nudist park in Melbourne.
Imagine the smell
We are the only animals that cares if we wear clothes or not. Weāre the strange ones
OP is creepy
Looks like the Melbourne Swingers Club AGM....
Bang on.
Consent is not needed in this sort of case. Do you also believe that women need consent from others to dress "provocatively"?
Society has norms and laws that are not there to necessarily govern every upstanding citizen but to protect against individuals who would abuse situations and pose a danger to wider society. So in essence they actually govern a relatively small percentage of society. And the reverse is true, they are also there to protect marginal vulnerable communities. Consent may not be a legal requirement, but the premise still remains. We just had a thread here not long ago where 95% agreed it was unethical for a street photographer just go up in your face and snap a photo, even if it were legal and could be done so without consent. Please don't think in binary terms.
I prefer Covid protests all of a sudden. Lol
creepy old dudesā¦ gross
What a terrible day to have eyes
Almost admire how these guys have found a way to enact their fetish without getting arrested.
Love seeing some small dick pride on display
Dude in the blue hat has a comically small cock
Not a fan of taking photos of people in public.
Neo Nazis marching again?
I'm no puritan, and am not offended by nudity, but I find this disgusting. Every single one of them looks like melting wax. Is this the only time these blobs ride their bicycles?
Hey man, we're all gonna be blobs one day
Thatās how people look when they age and are not posing for an airbrushed photo. Those who take care about their appearance will get to that state 10 years later
Good lawddddd not one person there should be nakedā¦ why isnāt it ever a bunch of hot girls haha
Because of cree comments like this?

Bloody hell you act like youāve never seen a large group of naked old people before
Anyone of a certain age is going to have seen lemonparty.
#Sausage Fest and some bread rolls
Thanks for another reason to run down cyclists.
Living the bad dream
you can tell this is about exhibitionism and not safety for bikers, just look at them. do you think any of them actually reguarly ride a bike?
Do you really think only regular bike riders care about bike safety? *Personally I used to bike a fair bit, and now I don't. I moved to a new place and it's just harder around here. But I still care about bike safety even though I don't have a bike anymore. I also care because I have friends and family who ride bikes. And honestly you SHOULD care even if you don't know a single person who rides a bike, because we should all care about each other's safety. For all we know some of those people are people who have experienced a loved one being in a major accident on a bike. Do they not have the right to care and try and do something to bring attention and donations to the issue?* Also do you really think you can tell who bike rides regularly based on looking at someone? *Newsflash - going for a bike ride every weekend isn't going to magically make you super skinny. It's not going to change genetics or diet or medications or medical conditions. It doesn't magically change your desk job into an active job. A lot of people who are fat are actually active pretty regularly. I think most of these people are probably bike riders because otherwise where did they all get bikes from? How did they all find out about a cycling event? Why do they care enough to look like dickheads in order to bring attention to bike safety?* I have no desire to ride around naked, or to see them do it, but I admire that they care about something enough to do something about it.
What if I was taking my kids to the park or something?? LOL
What's wrong kids seeing nudity that isn't sexual? They'd probably just find it funny.
I thought it was only the US with puritan issues around nudity. WTF are people on aboutā¦
You think it's okay for children to see strangers naked? okay lol
My kids see strangers naked all the time at the public baths in Japan. Nobody gives a fuck. We are all naked under clothes
context matters. I don't think many people expect to see people naked in a park. Come on, you're coming across like a weirdo lol
Iām the weirdo? These people are doing absolutely nothing wrong. There should be no qualms with nudity. Because they are naked it doesnāt make them sexual deviants or rapists. Get over yourself
For real though. How is this allowed?
What do you mean how is this allowed ?
What do you mean what do you mean? Why have the council allowed blokes have their cocks out in a park in broad day light
