Hey, don't knock our Monster Energy-font, rec league softball team uniforms!
Admittedly, ours suck as well. Only thing we've got going is the hats are kinda cool. But these unis suck as well. But their hats are kinda cool as well. Are the hat and uniform design teams different?
Unfortunately, something like 2/3 of mlb teams have blue as their first or second color and half have it as their primary color.
And a lot of the teams with a blue color also have a red color to go with it.
I was really hoping the guardians would change up their color scheme when they rebranded, specifically for this reason. However, I do think the team is heading toward a completely different brand as they feel out how fans feel about different products. Same name, just different logos and scripts. I doubt they'll shift from blue and red, but I'm hopefull.
I think the pirates are given exceptions to certain rules regarding uniforms. The whole city having the same color scheme is awesome, and mlb doesn't want to start that fight. And I'm glad.
Complete conspiracy theory, I have no idea what sort of official and unofficial rules mlb has for how teams uniforms can look
Blue and black are just trendy colors right now and the Pirates already have a black uniform lol. Don't need to overthink it with rules or how hot the sun is.
This. It’s so annoying. I also tend to think that uniforms look better when the jersey and pants are different colors and Nike loves making them both the same.
People keep buying this shit. All the dads in the cardinals sub have been eating the CC jersey up and its killing me. Looks like something from a beer league softball team.
There have been many failed attempts, but I still love the Nationals' City Connect jersey and cap.
I do like the Twins' cap as an alternative. I'm not as excited about the jersey.
At LEAST if they’re going to do something like this, they could’ve based it off the colors of our new state flag… just feels like a weird Mariners alternative jersey if you squint lol
It feels like they started going in that direction - especially if you include Buxton's undershirt - but then they drop in that yellow for no good reason.
Re-do the whole city connect thing and make it a fan's choice competition. No Boaty McBoatface shenanigans, but the fan vase can come up with something better than most of what's been delivered.
Personally, I'm dumb, and I want to see collabs with other area teams--where they exist. Gimme a weird Frankenstein that combines allegiance between the Giants and the Sharks.
I mean, it seemed like the whole idea of City Connect was to allow teams to showcase more of the city/fanbase. But all of them just end up looking like an assignment for first year graphic designers that have never heard of the city/state. Does “Ripple Effect” have anything to do with Minnesota? Seems like maybe better suited for a team on the San Andreas Fault. But maybe that’s a call out to the lakes. Whatever. Generally unimpressed by CC.
(The hat is 🔥 though)
I think it's a call out to the lakes. To be fair to the Twins, they've ALWAYS leaned hard into their city connection. It's in their name and vintage logo (Minnie and Paulie). So to ask them to do something new would be hard.
Why would anyone think more blue and yellow is the answer? It’s not 1901, you can do anything on the spectrum and you choose… Boy Scouts. Terrible. It sucks that so many of these are lame. A lament for every reveal of 2024.
What is the point of these “city connect” jerseys? What city are they connecting to?
Also, what’s the deal with driveways? You can’t drive on them. And what’s the deal with parkways? You can’t park on them.
Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Cincy use similar non-serif templates: “these are boring and uninspired! At least look like you’re trying!”
Philadelphia, Toronto, Tampa, Minnesota: “What?! No! Not like that!”
I don’t understand why some of these teams don’t employ some of the social media graphic designers that are in my Instagram feed all the time rehabbing logos.
I swear, the stuff those folks are doing for free is a billion times better than whoever they paid to make this City Connect crap.
The first thing I judge a City Connect uniform is whether or not they look like a baseball uniform. These don't. Sorry Twinkies. I commented elsewhere that the team has always leaned into the connection with their cities. The team is named after the identity of the twin cities, and their vintage logo features characters named for the cities. Doing something different would be difficult. Still, make it look like a baseball uniform.
I was in Minneapolis this week and did the target field tour. That ripple effect reminds me of that huge art display they have in the stadium that waves around when it windy and gives off a ripple effect. The tour guide said it was the biggest art display in the city.
They somehow manage to be over simplified AND busy at the same time.
Minnesota just redesigned the state flag, and there were tons of prototypes and designs that could’ve been an inspiration for this.
This color palate is… not great.
There are 2 major problems with these jerseys-
1. The shade of blue is all wrong. I can’t understand why they wouldn’t choose a blue they’ve had in their twins jerseys before. Any other shade of blue would’ve been better.
2. The YELLOW?!?! I mean, I get the significance and meaning, but seriously, ew. I would feel much differently if the yellow accents were blue or even black or honestly even green?! But the yellow is TERRIBLE.
Edit: spelling
Pretty awful. It’s sickening to think someone was actually paid money to design this hot mess. They look so CHEAP and the design is terrible. WTF is on the shoulder? A Cicada?
I get that Minnesota has a lot of water but wtf does a ripple effect have to do with baseball? And it's City Connect, not State Connect last time I checked.
They look like golf shirts you'd get at a corporate event.
**M\*N Corp:** Managing Insurance Compliance Strategies since 1983.

That’s Fanatics’ whole design philosophy
Nike designs them, fanatics produces them
Nobody knows who’s sitting in the room for these decisions.
Someone's in the room? I thought this was an AI training project.
It’s a good thing Best Buy HQ is right down 35
Blockbuster Video is rolling over in its grave
I’d tone it down there. Our brisk ice tea uniforms aren’t much to write home about 😂
Hey, don't knock our Monster Energy-font, rec league softball team uniforms! Admittedly, ours suck as well. Only thing we've got going is the hats are kinda cool. But these unis suck as well. But their hats are kinda cool as well. Are the hat and uniform design teams different?
Haha rec league😂. True the hats are good tbh. Whoever is designing the unis honestly needs firing.
Just get Dunder Mifflin to sponsor so it has the logo. Sold.
My must every city connect be blue or black?
Dark colors are rough for daytime games in the sun. Knowing the uniform will be used for evening games opens up a usually-verboten color palette.
Yeah but like even then there's tons of colors that stand out, just kinda annoying they keep making all the city connects the same color
The Cleveland Spiders could have been so cool...
The Pirates are the exact opposite of that, so I'm not sure I buy that reason.
Not sure if there’s a rule against wearing black in the summer sun other than common sense.
They could have done a dark purple and gold to play on the Vikings colors. Pay tribute to the team they used to share a stadium with.
**YELLOW**
Yellow/blue/black
This. It’s so annoying. I also tend to think that uniforms look better when the jersey and pants are different colors and Nike loves making them both the same.
Ours are white
Looks like Best Buy or ikea employees
Too bad they play at Target Field
Seriously… nobody remembers Blockbuster Video? Guys?!?!?
Best Buy Corporate is only a few miles from the stadium. I94 to I35W south to I494 and Boom Best Buy Corporate
They keep getting worse
With this logic the leaked Dodgers cc will be released last. Hopefully on the last day of the season so they don't have a chance to wear them on field
Yeah it’s time to stop. These are out of control at this point.
People keep buying this shit. All the dads in the cardinals sub have been eating the CC jersey up and its killing me. Looks like something from a beer league softball team.
The StL jerseys that literally call their city a toilet?!?!?
These are really bad.
They look like a Brewers uniform you'd get from Wish.
just terrible
I hate all these city connect rags. Watched the Reds on TV and the black leotard look was revolting. With the shitty modern font. It’s all garbage.
Boston but blue
Anyone with half a brain would have scrapped these and gone for a last minute redesign based on the legendary summer sausage.
There have been many failed attempts, but I still love the Nationals' City Connect jersey and cap. I do like the Twins' cap as an alternative. I'm not as excited about the jersey.
This Cap is 🔥 with the state on it and the star marking Minneapolis/St. Paul. A must own if you're a Twins fan or even just a Minnesota Native.
I’ve never followed the twins but I’d buy that hat in a heartbeat. It’s fresh as HELL
Does Nike not hire people who understand men’s fashion? Nearly every city connect jersey is garbage.
It’s very similar with the NBA jerseys too. Many are just straight up terrible. There were like 3 that were nice.
I don't understand, you'd think they would survey the public at this point and fire the entire design department.
Not to mention having some clue about the proper aesthetics of a professional baseball uniform. These look like bad college football unis.
Not to mention the aspect of connecting with the city.
Looks like blockbuster video had a softball team
They did. But they would always make the other team run around the bases backwards if they scored.
I like how the last few CC to come out are all trying to one-up each other in the ugliest uniforms possible category..
Phillies? Rays? Hello?
Phillies are ugly. The Rays are nice tho.
Having the best recent city connects is a small price to pay for the worst season in recent memory
You guys seriously like the rays? When we first saw them, me and my wife were instantly in agreement of “omg those are hideous”
Agreed. Flames are cool for 7 year olds.
Phillies might be the best in my opinion lol
It's all pretty subjective, some of my favourites are universally panned (Giants, Phillies, Rockies, etc.)
These should have been purple and yellow 🤦♀️
I'm a massive MN sports fan and these confuse the shit out of me
If you look close at them, they are to show ripples like if you are watching the ripples on one of the 10,000 lakes.
So just making them a Vikings jersey?
Yeah why not? 🤷🏾♀️ better than blue
I think we can be a little more creative than just copying our own football team
Clearly not lol
Man, these are getting uglier by the day. I swear the City Connect uniforms are designed by kindergarteners.
What's with the obsession with blue and yellow? These aren't creative at all.
Professional fastpitch softball unis
Looks like a whole new franchise
How much ripple do you need to drink before they look good?
Eewwww
As a Twins fan I approve.
Good lord can we stop with the city connect uniforms. They suck so much.
I do kinda like that hat
Looks like something you could pick up at exploreminnesota.com, or maybe in some souvenir shop at MSP.
It’s the worst part for me, but I’m not from MN
it's very 90's Minnesota retro. Idk if I can rock a yellow bill though. That's a vibe.
The hat is REALLY 🔥 If you're a Twins fan or a Minnesota Native ya gotta have it. Really good cap.
The hat is cool, the rest is trying too hard
Hate them.
I actually like these jerseys! I’ll support anything that makes Carlos Correa look worst. FTA!
Hot garbage
These might be the worst ones
All of the City Connect uniforms are trash
I don’t think they look as bad as the comments suggest.
Reddit just hates anything new. I don’t think any design would satisfy them.
Ripple effect may have a link to Minnesota’s lakes… but what does that have anything to do with Minneapolis/St. Paul (the twin cities)?
I think it's a call out to the lakes. To be fair to the Twins, they've ALWAYS leaned hard into their city connection. It's in their name and vintage logo (Minnie and Paulie). So to ask them to do something new would be hard.
Another horribly executed Nike jersey 😑
Details of the colors and more: https://www.instagram.com/p/C8Ca0uFOmHv/?igsh=MTVudjhscW5uZ2Mw
These are pretty sweet actually
Hat is cool. Logo is cool. Jerseys. Not
I like the hat not the jersey
Good god, how can CC mess up these uniforms?
Why would anyone think more blue and yellow is the answer? It’s not 1901, you can do anything on the spectrum and you choose… Boy Scouts. Terrible. It sucks that so many of these are lame. A lament for every reveal of 2024.
Solid C outta these. Like, very bland, but there’s enough here for me to be like “well…okay.”
What is the point of these “city connect” jerseys? What city are they connecting to? Also, what’s the deal with driveways? You can’t drive on them. And what’s the deal with parkways? You can’t park on them.
Golf pros
Look at Buxton's face, he knows he's putting on trash
With all the hate being thrown around, I just want to say that I like the hat.
With every City Connect release we drift further and further away from god
Is there an unwritten rule that City Connect jerseys must be blue and yellow? This is the fifth one with that tandem
Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Cincy use similar non-serif templates: “these are boring and uninspired! At least look like you’re trying!” Philadelphia, Toronto, Tampa, Minnesota: “What?! No! Not like that!”
Aquaman lookin ass
I don’t understand why some of these teams don’t employ some of the social media graphic designers that are in my Instagram feed all the time rehabbing logos. I swear, the stuff those folks are doing for free is a billion times better than whoever they paid to make this City Connect crap.

Ripple effect - designed by Fanatics employees hired from behind the liquor store. No clue how anyone thought these look good.
Another blue gradient city connect jersey. Jc
Thought mariners at first
Showed it to my wife and first words out of her mouth? Eh it’s ok. Reminds me of the Brewers… I do like the hat though.
I feel like every one of these has gotten worse and worse
Thought this was a re-do of the Brewers’ at first. Not recognizable as the Twins at all.
This one is gunna have to sit awhile, not sure how to feel about it
Your kidding? They are not black?
Crying and throwing up atm
Should've swapped the sleeve logo and the cap logo. They already wear the state on the sleeve.
I was in Minneapolis this week and did the target field tour. That ripple effect reminds me of that huge art display they have in the stadium that waves around when it windy and gives off a ripple effect. The tour guide said it was the biggest art display in the city.
Did they get their order mixed-up with the Brewers? wtf is happening here, Lake gang?
Most of these city connect uniforms so bad. Who markets this shit?
Hats are kinda cool. Jerseys are trash though
There’s a lot to like, but that shirt is a mess and that cap side panel is what?
The Milwaukee brewers?
They somehow manage to be over simplified AND busy at the same time. Minnesota just redesigned the state flag, and there were tons of prototypes and designs that could’ve been an inspiration for this. This color palate is… not great.
The best City connect is Cincinnati Reds lol and most simple
The hat isn't bad. The jersey is.
These are horrible. I’m not even a twins fan and I feel bad for the players and fans.
The hats are stupid
They look like Vault Tech
If they wanted to make fun, cool jerseys they could've made mascot themed jerseys
They look like Boston’s hand me downs with the yellow
They're gonna look like a glitch when running lol
I like it, I normally think Target when I think Minnesota, way to change things up with the Best Buy theme!
I swear 90% of the City Connect jerseys are terrible …
Just a way to sell more jerseys...they all look like softball unis
Brew Crew colors. Well the positive is you won’t notice all the fans from Wisconsin next time they play the Brewers at target field
Every time one of these releases, I understand the Yankees decision a little more.
Jerseys look like shit but the hats are pretty cool
I like em
Where have we seen that exact star before???
My eyes, the goggles do nothing!
The Minnesota *checks notes* Mariners?
LA Galaxy Minnesota Twins
This is just Philly + KC with about the same amount of creativity
There are 2 major problems with these jerseys- 1. The shade of blue is all wrong. I can’t understand why they wouldn’t choose a blue they’ve had in their twins jerseys before. Any other shade of blue would’ve been better. 2. The YELLOW?!?! I mean, I get the significance and meaning, but seriously, ew. Be Kind, Rewind - Nike
Fuck Max Kepler
🤢🤢🤮🤮
Looks like they work at the fancy car wash on the corner
I think a purple and gold uniform would be cool. Play off of the Vikings colors. Pay tribute to the team they used to share a stadium with.
They’re reps Ma Boy
I can pm you the contact?
These I actually like , not sure why it’s this color blue & mixed with a sick dark red , but yeah I like .
Mid
Wait, that's a pro jersey? It looks like something from a pony league
Reminds me of an old mariners jersey for some reason. Also the city connect jerseys are hideous. Still waiting on a good one.
Well… I think the new city connects have been awful this year, but I kinda like this one
What exactly is the ripple effect of Minnesota?
What, a City Connect that isn't 90 percent black?
Do they drink ripple in MN?
Dude I just don’t get it. These city connects are so fucking boring and way too much at the same time. Sucks
They look like the new ugly MN flag. SciFi character outfit. Lost in space looked better...okay, yeah no one remembers that 🤪
at least the cap definitely screams minor league
Genuinely thought this was a redesign of the Mariners City Connect at a glance
Yuuuk
These look more like Tampa Bay Ray uniforms then Minnisota Twin uniforms
Gross
Gross
Fugly!!
What’s the story being the ripple effect?
Lakes, i guess
If a dumpster fire was blue and yellow
Remember when Nike put out good stuff...
It's just the tigers one with waves
Not a fan of
We need to fire Nike in the sun, these are horrible…
Just everything awful. Why?! 🤢🤮
These are disgusting
I thought nothing could make me appreciate the Giants connects. This might do it.
I actually kinda liked the Giants unis with the bridge and fog. Got a glimpse of them when I was at Oracle recently
U G L Y
Why do so many of the City Connects have absolutely no soul? Odd for a series of jerseys meant to "connect".
Pretty awful. It’s sickening to think someone was actually paid money to design this hot mess. They look so CHEAP and the design is terrible. WTF is on the shoulder? A Cicada?
Eww.
going to see this uniform and think I'm watching the Mariners
I'm so thankful the Reds ones weren't garbage..
I get that Minnesota has a lot of water but wtf does a ripple effect have to do with baseball? And it's City Connect, not State Connect last time I checked.
They said for this one they did “state connect” because Minnesota was the first ball club to be named after the state and not the city.
The yellow brim takes it from not great to something much worse
Shit from a butt
