Trout

Atlas7-k

Nah, if it was Trout it would be in the shop.

wirsteve

Griffey’s career.

Waynebgmeamc

My first thought

Tengstrom1983

Came here to say this

FiftyIsBack

Yep that's exactly what I was going to say. Or also Shohei when he was an Angel

GonzoTheGreat22

/thread

bwheezzyy

Seattle mariners starting pitching

JuiceDistinct3280

Felix.

Potato_Stains

I remember his perfect game, that was bananas.

Status-Buddy2058

Definitely this as an m’s it was brutal to watch his career wasted never seeing post season

Snowlandnts

Mariners wasted his prime years

MortisDrysdale

Agreed. On the flip side the Mariners with Ichiro

AdMinimum7811

The Mariners offense with Griffey and their bullpen….

georgehxnnon

Yes

Crunch_E_Pickle

deGrom on the Mets. Dude won cy young with a 10-9 record because of how terrible the Met's offense was.

Worldly-Diamond-117

Logan Gilbert or George Kirby might end up in the same boat

Crunch_E_Pickle

I grew up in the tri-state area so at least 1/2 of my friends are Mets fans. They are the most loyal and apathetic people I know.

GotThoseJukes

I really can’t even imagine what his record might have looked like in 2018 if literally anyone on the roster was producing offensively.

DeezNutsDD7

Mason Miller

Ralfton

Yup. This one.

pinniped1

In Royals terms it was early career Zack Greinke.

SilentSpades24

Carlos Beltran.

yafuckonegoat

Trout

Zither74

Are Bugattis known to break down all the time?

Far_Lemon1942

T-pain said he’d rather drive his mini cooper because of this

hjugm

Same

MortisDrysdale

In this metaphor it would be because you drove it 20k miles a year for a decade

steve-d

You've got to be rich just to maintain these cars. Replacing the tires alone costs $40k+.

jbach220

An oil change costs $20k.

sabre007x

Valve stem caps are $10k

Captawesome81

Air is 5k

Desertmarkr

Air freshener for the rear view mirror is 2k

IllRelative3355

Not in this movie!

Fun-Cut-2641

Ayooo

Mr_Lapis

That's more of an Italian thing

MortisDrysdale

Throwback would be Ernie Banks with the Cubs

DavidForPresident

I was gonna say a throwback would be Tony Gwynn on the Padres 😂

MortisDrysdale

I mean you're definitely not wrong. I almost went with him but then I remembered Mr. Cub.

JD_JD_JD_

Skubal and the Tigers

Healthy_Afternoon820

Reese Olson is the corvette in the front yard

Fishstixxx16

I'd say Skubal is a Chiron, and Baez is a broken ass Veyron

Pipernation4

Surprised I had to scroll this far.

epic-bacon

this should be in first out of current teams

blaue_Ente

Votto for most of his career

captainhooksjournal

Dang dude I just made this same exact comment and only found yours after scrolling more than halfway down the thread

Stannis_Baratheon244

Mariners rotation vs offense

33thirtythree

The Mariners and Astros are mirrors of each other this year. Astros offense putting up big numbers yet had to have league best record in June just to get to .500. Meanwhile you've got performances like Kirby yesterday - dude is a pitcher's pitcher, love me some Kirby - 6+ innings with 1R on 5 innings and that offense can't find him some support.

UonBarki

Angels era Ohtani.

Spare-Discipline1448

Funny enough, also Mike Trout on the Angels

mhem7

How in the hell were the Angels not able to field at least a respectable team with those two to build around?

Dfrickster87

If the version of Albert Pujols that they got was even close to the version the Cardinals got and if Rendon was anywhere close to the version the Nationals got things would've been much different.

No-Doctor-4396

No farm. Mediocre pitching at best. Not good coaching.

Prudent-Property-513

Because two players don’t make a team?

Edgelord_3000

I feel like this should be obvious by now, but critical thinking is boring and inattentive 🤷🏻‍♂️

Suxatreddit2026

Beat me to it.

LastDiveBar510

Also pujols

Emptyspace227

Luis Robert, Jr.

Embarrassed_Stand868

Trout is the only acceptable answer

KennyLogginsFan89

I thought that at first but I’m agreeing with Mason Miller. Although the A’s are a dumpster fire not even a single-wide.

LastDiveBar510

We ain't even a trailer at this point just a used 08 dodge caravan with a twin mattress and a handicap plaque at the Walmart parking lot

nolanb69

sammagee33

Right now, Skubal on the Tigers

jblake29

Kenny Powers

SweatyIngenuity652

Maybe in Mexico

SirRiggsDiehard1

Elly De La Cruz on the Reds. The man deserves to get paid and the Reds ownership refuses to pay real players, so eventually they’ll trade him for practically nothing.

rush_magnet

Can’t believe I had to scroll this far to find the right answer. The kids good asf .

charlierhustler

Based on the spirit of the meme, I think Votto is the Reds' answer since EDLC hasn't been signed to a big contract. It was the highest contact the Reds had ever signed for what was considered the greatest hitter at the time. Basically a modern Ted Williams. Then proceeded to sign retread and average players because of their payroll cap. Two WC appearances and an absolutely heartbreaking NLDS loss during that contact.

Tippymytalala1

The kid just now hit 170 games played. Don’t care how good he is. No one gets paid that early, especially if you are a Scott Boras player like he is. Not denying how great he is, one is the few interesting things for reds fans this year

MeetTheMets31

Crochet on the white sox

SteelCityChamp1

Paul Skenes on the Pirates

CobraPanther99

Stanton when he was with the Marlins. Then he turned into a Honda Accord on the Yankees.

Waynebgmeamc

Ted Williams and the redsox

Historical-Sound-283

Elly De La Cruz.

neweasterner

10000% Mike Trout. 1 of the best around, playing on a trash team. But also requires a ton of expensive maintenance and breaks down very often.

Drugwarveteran92

Judge and Soto

YeagerChillax

Hugh_Jankles

Luis Robert

Own-Rest3273

Kris Bryant's contract in Colorado

SedativeComet

Mike Trout being on the Angels his entire career

Outrageous-Estimate9

Rockies signing Kris Bryant for $182 million Even presuming he never gets injured it was a stupidly pointless contract for a team bound to lose 100 games With injuries and barely ever playing? Could be the worst contract ever, only time will tell.

canes517

Trout. Or Skubal on Detroit

waveraceforn64

cubs starting pitching

ChipOld734

Ohtani

DataNo7004

theunfunnyredditor

Jason Heyward

Jacob deGroms Cy Young seasons.

bfk94

To switch it up from the Trout replies… Mason Miller Paul Skenes Luis Robert Jr (when he’s healthy) Garret Crochet You could kind of argue Tarik Skubal is this for the Tigers, since I doubt Flaherty will still be there come August.

PilgrimRadio

Mike Trout

Fiire02

Rangers offense is the car, pitching is the house, and DeGrom and Scherzer are the valuable old antiques in the house (before Scherzer came back)

MuteWitnessX

Trout playing for the Angels... i love the Angels by the way.

Funny-Hovercraft1964

Skenes playing for the Pirates for as long as they can afford him.

MrCows123

Looks like Orange County CA

Putrid_Front865

I can’t possibly imagine. Indeed, I can’t possibly imagine twice.

Otherwise_Spare_8598

Judge and the Yankees

LFCofounderCTO

If the A's had signed Ohtani

Volstadd

The Rays and our years of developing top tier players of all positions (except notably catcher), and then trading them away for so-called "failed potential" guys from other teams that we fix, then trade for more, cheaper talent. Our stadium sucks, we won't spend money on free agents, but take a gander at the farm system, anytime from now back through 2008-ish and you'll see us fleece other franchises again and again in terms of talent acquisition. We send you a rental or a 1.5 year deal on a guy we know is washed, you send us top prospects. The car (the players) is fast, sporty, and fun to watch/drive. The house? -Why does the Trop smell kind of moldy? -Why is the "Big Boobie" located so far away from the actual population center? -Why is the proposed "relocation" just to a poorer neighborhood 6 miles away, still on the wrong side of the bridge? edit: bridge not bride.
