I go the opposite route. I approach the employee if the person isn't helping someone, say hello, and state that I'm just looking around but will ask if I have questions. This way the interaction is on my terms, and I browse without interruption.
Someone else who was told to do their job……yes it’s annoying, no they don’t really wanna interact with you, yes they also know it’s annoying. Some jobs have secret shoppers still and if those shoppers are in your store and see you not engaging with a customer, your area/district manager will find out and then come down on you even harder……so ya it sucks, but just say no thank you I’m good.
Working at lids I’ll tell you right now, 95% of us are just doing a job because our bosses are breathing down our necks to give everyone good service. Just say youre browsing and you will ask questions if you need help and that should be enough cuz I dont want to talk to you guys either😭
I would rather that then at my Lids which is usually packed with one employee working. They are usually ringing people up and working the embroidery machine at the same time. Shout out to Jordan at Lids
Avoid the Lids store in Gatlinburg. They were the skankiest bunch of obese vaping losers I've ever met. They were all white hip hop wanna bes. They all stunk like shit from not bathing. You could see the bottoms of all their stomachs hanging out from under their shirts. It was close to being the nastiest ass store I've ever set foot in.
They force mfs do that shit n it annoying asf doing it to customers they want us to be mf sales experts n upsell everyone on everything, but we don’t get no commission in dat mf, they want us make accounts for everyone as well, that’s y they gotta do that bs, I personally don’t n my sales was 2nd last year n that was as a part time assistant manager in Less than half a year
