I don’t think they usually get this high. I think a big part of it is that it’s in Vegas. Don’t get me wrong they’re still expensive but not usually 5k a ticket
Around 5k has been the get in price for the most
recent super bowls. Usually the best time to buy is the week before and right after kickoff. They will spike up the week leading up to then level off and they used to drop a lot after kickoff. But not so much any more. Went to a Super Bowl about 10 years ago for under 1k when I waited. But haven’t seen that since.
Sellers want to get any money back possible. Value drops after the game goes live.
If you’re looking for a miracle, best time to find it. Same thing works for concert + festival tickets.
I do it for regular season games and it works out pretty well. I pregame and eat at a bar by the stadium, and eventually someone will sell a ticket for dirt cheap shortly before, or after kickoff via a ticket reselling apps. The game is 3 1/2 hours, so missing 5-15 minutes from kickoff only equates to a few minutes of actual in-game action.
Seatgeek is good for this
Almost went to a phils game for $5 but PATCO tunnels didn't get good reception. A shame since we beat the cubs 12-3 that day.
For a while it was good. Until the owners banded together and formed their Super Bowl package company. Now they will just stick at their price and go unsold at a point and won’t care because they are making bank anyways.
Nosebleeds for our Super Bowl in ‘17 were ~3500. I checked. I decided to put some money away every year after ‘04 and got a rude awakening of just how broke I really am. That’s just tickets, flights/hotels get more expensive too.
To help with calculations, I went for LIII and the whole weekend for airfare, hotel, the actual tickets and some souvenirs in total was like 16K for two. There are other ways that have been mentioned and some times they work but my father and I don’t want to risk it because we thought it was the last time we would have a chance to see the Patriots in a Super Bowl (and that could actually be true) so it was absolutely worth it for the memories but it was a tough pill to swallow.
Been a football fan for well over 30 years. I actually hate going to the stadium to watch the games. Its a horrible experience. Ive been to probably 5 games in my life and I'm perfectly okay never attending a game in person ever again.
To each their own. Maybe it’s a fanbase-specific experience but I fucking love going to Soldier Field to watch Bears games.
I went to the Bears-Falcons game around week 16, when the Bears season was long since dead and Fields as well as most of the coaching staff was clearly dead in the water, and still the fans were absolutely nuts. It was puking snow, fans were screaming, it was great.
Same. Lumen Field has a reputation for being one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL but you don't really get an understanding of what that truly means until you actually attend a game.
Being there in the midst of it is worth the price of admission. I was there for the Drew Lock game against the Eagles on prime time and MAN was that atmosphere ELECTRIC!
I've been to 11 different stadiums so far and I've never seen an entire stadium section get so obliterated drunk before, like I have at Soldier Field. Like the entire section was wasted by the fourth quarter, to a man.
God I hope so much they never move. It seems like it’s the way of all corporations, where they’re motivated towards maximizing profit rather than maximizing their most loyal customers’ enjoyment, and when those two things are at odds it’s just business. It’s just the way of the world, but man I will be sad when I can’t bring my kid to a game downtown.
Maybe they just had a bad time. I've been to several Eagles home games and they've all been amazing experiences outside of one that was like 5 degrees and a blowout loss.
Agreed. Has Arrowhead been brutally cold sometimes? Sure. But that is my favorite atmosphere in the planet. Watching from home is great, but I'd 10 times out of 10 watch a game from the nosebleeds at Arrowhead before my house.
Take it from an eagles fan to hate going to live NFL games. I would too, those people are borderline intolerable lol
Go to a Bills game, that energy will change your life
That sounds fucking miserable to me. I hate crowds, I hate cold, I like being able to see the plays clearly, my couch is very comfortable, I don’t have to travel, my TV is nice.
Home watching for me!
This is what keeps me from going. I’d love to go once just to say I did it and experience it. But at the same time I know I would actually hate it and wished I just stayed home.
I mean I’ve gone to one game every year for the last 20 years and I fucking love it. I’d go to every game in person if I could. Not sure why the other guy hates it so much, but I enjoy it.
People that don't enjoy it usually don't like the crowds or paying too much for stuff.
I love games, the viewing is "better" on TV but the atmosphere is unmatched...if I followed a good team I could only imagine.
I went to week one and the intros were fucking magical...I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it.
Of course 4 plays in it crashed and burned but then the OT walk off was the best sporting experience I ever had...I was overcome with joy and it was my GF and I. It filled me with joy and I just had to kiss her. Nothing will beat the feeling of a live event for me.
100% agree. You don’t go to the games in person for the viewing, as it’s almost always better on TV. However the atmosphere and experience is special. Especially if your team has a cool theme like the Vikings with the SKOL chant and the gjallarhorn.
I'd argue it's one of the few sports where viewing is better than TV, almost from any seat in the stadium. instead of just seeing the QB and o-line you can actually see routes develop and what's happening downfield, focusing on your favorite players. Much cooler experience than the TV angle imo.
Personally for me I hate being in crowds of people. I also hate spending 25 dollars for some chicken tenders and a beer. I like to just relax and watch the game on my comfy couch with minimal noise until the wife starts asking me the same football questions she asks every single week.
I've noticed this with my wife this year. She's actually trying to learn the rules for the first time. She still asks the same questions over and over again, but at least she's showing an interest for once.
My wife likes the NFL but knows zilch about college FB. I get YTTV every year for college, and whilst she was talking to my mom on the phone, looked at the tv and said "he's just laying here watching Colorado (CU) play Colorado (State).....babe why are you watching Colorado play itself? Are you actually watching a scrimmage?"
The simplest way I heard it described is that the player (on offense) can't cross the second blue line (the one closer to the goal he's trying to score on) before the puck does
I've tried explaining icing to my dad (not a hockey fan) a million times and he still doesn't get it. Tbh I think part of it is that you're not gonna care about the rules if you don't care about the sport in the first place. I fell in love with hockey after going to one game. Evidently something about the sport just doesn't click with my dad, and why's he gonna bother spending energy learning and remembering the rules for a sport he never watches?
My dad used to have season tickets for the Browns, while I had a lot of fond memories going to the games with him, 0-16 finally broke him and he didn’t renew the next year. Now we usually just have friends over and we have the game playing inside and outside while we grill some food and people are playing cards or cornhole or someshit. Just a mini party every week and it’s so much nicer than going to games.
Edit: Well now I live in AZ so I don’t get to do that but that’s what my family does at least.
It truly depends on how the game plays out. I have been to several Dolphin games. For the most part the experience sucks. It’s way too hot and the team has sucked for the most part.
I did, however, go ti the Miracle in Miami game where we beat the Pats on the last play of the game. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my entire life. That moment built a core memory shared with people I will likely never see again. I wouldn’t trade that for a lot of things.
Ugh when I got home and watched it again that made it so much better to hear how AMAZING the call was. “Tannehill will throw it. And that will end it. After the shovel. Or will it? Miami running around, circling. Oh look out. Gronkowski, didn’t have the angle!!! TOUCHDOWN!! OOHH HOOOOO KENYAN DRAKE!!!! A MIRACLE. MIRACULOUS IN MIAMI!!”
Right up there with “Should the Spurs foul? Should Miami go for the three right away?” “Just attack the basket.” Etc
Yeah unless you have great seats, I don’t think it’s worth it to go to a game anymore.
You are paying out the ass for tickets, parking, and food; just to spend the day cranking your neck to see the Jumbotron to figure out what is going on.
My (ex) BIL used to have seats 2 rows up and it was awesome. See the players faces, hear audibles, hear big hits etc etc. Well my sister and him divorced so last game I went to I was in the 300 level and me and my dad both agreed that watching the game from that far away was worse than watching from the comfort of our home.
Games are hella fun. Just like going to concerts. Sure watching the game or listening to the music is great, but there’s something special about being there.
Yup, same. I've been to 3 games, in 3 stadiums (Riverfront, Paul Brown, SoFi). SoFi has great views of the game, but still nowhere near like watching on TV.
All three games there were violently drunk fans fighting each other, close enough to where I was that I felt I had to be on guard. Plus everything costs so damn much, it really puts it into the "not worth it" category.
100%. Every game Ive been to there's just fucking absolutely shitfaced people being completely obnoxious, the viewing experience is just better on TV.
Preseason games are what I've found to scratch the itch when I feel like going. Tickets are super cheap, it's way more chill and I just leave when I feel like it.
Never been to a Cowboys game. Looks like a great time for sure. But with how expensive it is for every step of the process and how much of a headache it is to park and drive to AT&T Stadium, just watching the game at a local bar or with a few friends and a cooler of beer wins out every single time on my personal cost/benefit analysis lol.
> That’s how all of the nfl is - a huge majority of people who watch have never been to a game
That's how it is in 2023/24, but that's not how it was. You used to be able to get decent seats at Arrowhead for $40 and parking was $25, now the nosebleeds in the corners are $300 for games and parking is $50.
It really wasn't that long ago that going to multiple games a year was easily affordable for working class people.
Yup as much as I love Super Bowl weekend when my team is playing in it, nothing beats true home playoff games. The atmosphere is 10x better than a prime time regular season game. Like I get people not like being in crowds, but the best memories come from watching the game in person, going to chiefs bills playoff fame a few years ago with the 13 second miracle makes it worth every second being in the stadium. No matter how good tv and surround sound is, you simply can’t embrace the true atmosphere at home
This is a strong point. My brother got me into a corporate suite once at a Niner game. I was definitely the only real fan in the suite (although they all had gear that cost 10 times what I've spent). I imagine that the Super Bowl is like a giant corporate suite filled with people who don't even care about football and just love the clout of getting to be at the biggest event in America. Going to a title game would be way more fun.
Eh.
I've sat in the club seats and I've sat in the "Cheap" seats for the Seahawks. And while I'm not gonna call anyone fake fans. One section definitely felt more passionate than the other.
I actually have access to one of the big sponsor suites via a friend next weekend. I’ll report back. My guess is it’ll be a mix of celebrities and big wigs. I’m a bills fan I’m just excited to boo the chiefs in person.
I luckily have a sports agent friend who manages some big names but even through his agencies rates it’s still insane. Lots of money to be made with resale on these. I can get 50 yard line seats for 12 grand each. I however will be holding demonic rituals at my house that day in an effort to help the chiefs lose to the niners and save some cash in the process.
Hey you gotta cover all your bases. Purdy can pray but the rest of us gotta get everything else done. My spiritual commune with forest spirits is Wednesday just to get them enough time to prepare.
Honestly they should raffle them like the Masters does. I think it would make just as much money as now anyways? Most of these crazy prices are from re-selling. Which the Masters does not allow either
They want the fans at home watching the commercials. The worst thing about the suoerbowl is how it has tricked everyone into watching the commercials. They aren't even funny anymore.
No matter how cheap the tickets are, only 65,000 people are so are going to be in the stadium and hundreds of millions of people watch the game. I'm pretty sure you could give the tickets away and it won't affect the TV ratings.
After the crypto super bowl the ads for the next ones were all just a bunch of sappy focus tested feel good sob stories, or those stupid pharmaceutical ads where everyone dances around absolutely thrilled that they have a debilitating disease. It fucking sucked. I watch for the game not the ads but at least during the super bowl they are usually entertaining, not anymore. At least some of those crypto ads were funny.
Man, this is what depresses me about commercials nowadays. It's always some dumb celebrity up there saying "buy product". Alot of the ones back then at least had some kind of joke attached to it. But no, here's Zoe Saldana fawning over an iPhone every 10 minutes
The commercials started going downhill in the 2010s. Like many other things, COVID completely killed them. As someone else said, all the heart tugging crap started becoming commonplace. I don't even bother paying much attention to them anymore.
I mean I rather watch from my couch anyway.
But yeah, on top of ticket prices, you're paying for travel, parking, and have to deal with idiots in the stadium. Then like $20 for one hotdog. Also, traffic on the way out...the live experience just sucks for the most part...
Unless you're super rich hehe xD
I briefly looked at tickets. A giant fuck you too Ticketmaster for upscaling the fees with the face value.
When I looked at tickets, it was like $3k in fees for two tickets.
> A giant fuck you too Ticketmaster for upscaling the fees with the face value.
Excuse me. A giant fuck-you for Ticketmaster involves service charges and fees of $435. Would you like for your giant fuck-you to be insured for $98 as well?
**[] Yes**
[] No
> A giant fuck you too Ticketmaster
Could have just ended it there. They have a monopoly on concert and sports ticket sales, wish some other competitor would show up.
Tried to be, before their fan friendly policies got them burned. All while Ticketmaster started their own version of a re-sale platform and made it way easier to sale your own tix through their platform
Yeah, I think [SNL nailed it with this one.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjlIFPJUL5Q) The SB is more for non-fans than fans, at this point, and has been for years.
Pretty sure the Atlanta New England Super Bowl was talked about as being relatively inexpensive. Fatigue from NE fans and Atlanta not having fans being a big reason I would guess.
I knew a classmate that went to see SB 49 in Phoenix. It was her family along with her boyfriend. It’s disappointing to see that’s not a possible thing for us regular folks anymore
No lie, one of my friend's boss is a MEGA gambler (like, whale level) and he got free Super Bowl tickets from a casino (a minor gift, considering the amount he's loss in gambling is probably 15x fold). Why did this mfer sell the tickets to do more gambling. lol
So in theory, you're absolutely correct that they won't leave the table to attend the game.
I got tickets for the CFP National Championship through my school for $500 and because of that my 49ers loving dad thought he could get into the Super Bowl for a grand or two. Good luck with that dad.
Well he kinda fumbled it. Spent my childhood going to Giants and Sharks games but never a Niners game. Ran around in Patty Marleau and Barry Bonds shirts but never had anything Niners in my closet. He watched them every Sunday and I'd join him at times but I didn't really get into football until I was enrolled at Washington and by then it was too late. My college friends were all Seahawks fans and Beastquake was my freshman year.
my dad is an avid Packer fan and I had quite a few Packers shirts that he gave me.
But we drove 4.5 hours across the state at least once a month to my mom's parents' house and there was nothing to do there except look at the (Minneapolis and St. Paul based) newspapers, or watch the "local channels" which were all out of the Twin Cities, so I became very familiar with Randy Moss-era Vikings.
Current best price is $5,119, or $6,910 with fees.
Genuinely, I understand why you need to throw massive resale fees into transactions to effectively tax scalpers, but not displaying those fees by default is such horseshit.
I don't really understand why that's done, I might be missing something but the scalper gets their thousands and the cost is passed on to the consumer?
The ideal price point for a ticket for a given event isn't known by a vendor ahead of time. Typically, event organizers will try to set the price lower than what they think the market can bear*, so that they're assured a sell-out crowd. The problem with this is that scalpers will then buy out as many tickets as possible, since in 90% of situations, they'll be guaranteed a profit selling them back on the aftermarket.
What resale fees do is change the math, so that the price paid by the consumer aftermarket is higher than the payout the vendor receives. So, hypothetically, say an event organizer thinks that the market value for a ticket is ~$120, and prices conservatively at $100 with a resale fee of ~33%. This way, initial buyers of tickets get a little bit of a deal, the event sells out, and scalpers trying to resell at market price ($120) would in reality be getting $90 for a ticket they paid $100 for (while Ticketmaster would end up getting $130 for a $100 ticket).
It's good business policy so long as you set your prices accordingly. You make scalping unprofitable, allow people who can't make the event to still recoup some of their expenses, and as a business you make sure that any uncaptured margin comes back to you anyway.
What's shady as shit is that Ticketmaster and all of the other resale websites still practice the sales technique of showing you what the vendor is going to receive, which should not be relevant to you as a consumer. As a consumer, I just want to know how much money leaves my wallet for a ticket, not where the money is going.
*this is before we get into the new strategy of dynamic pricing. The joy of selling product that by its very nature is limited is that nobody is ever going to be happy, since the ideal market for consumers is "I pay whatever I want and I'm guaranteed the product, independent of how much other people are willing to pay"
Insane, what are the fees even for, it’s an online system and you are given a digital ticket. I was messing around with hotel and flight packages, you could stay in Vegas at any nice hotel, for 3 weeks for less than $6k
Exactly, all I would be thinking about is if I'm getting the most out of my money.
Hell, going to the bathroom would have me sweating.
Could you imagine missing an epic play, while you were standing in line for the bathroom.
Like wtf is the point.
My NHL team (Avalanche) was in the stanly cup finals and had an opportunity to clinch the cup at home……nosebleed tickets started around $1000, and I was really really tempted to catch the game, but ultimately decided against it. The game turned out to be pretty boring, my team lost…..and clinched the cup on the road in the next game.
Best $1000 I never spent.
It’s better to just invest in a good surround sound system or a 4k TV. To watch the games
Or a good meal and good drinks at a bar while watching the game. Way better use of your money
My good friend lives in Vegas and he’s also a huge Niners fan. I could fly with points and stay with him for free. But no way I’m dropping $5k on a ticket.
You can use [this site](https://cfb-tickets.com/) to track ticket prices and inventory over time to identify the optimal time to buy. Unfortunately the Super Bowl never drops to a price point for normal fans to realistically obtain, but for other events you can save some money by timing your purchase well.
Every time they show a random celebrity during the broadcast I get more and more irritated. Here’s yet another rich person going to the Super Bowl because they could afford it, taking the seat of a diehard fan who watched every single snap their team took that season. It’s all pageantry with a football game played somewhere in the middle of all of it.
Love him, definitely feels like a legit fan. I went to a game this year and he was there. In our Super Bowl he was in the owners box wearing Eagles gear. I don’t begrudge anyone who’s a fan and can afford to go.
A bunch of celebrities will meet up and just hang while listening to usher and have some small event playing in the background.
This is the definition of only showing up to church only on Christmas.
I’d bet most of them couldn’t name a single o-linemen or a running back not named CMC in this game… that or they would call Deebo a RB
If I was a fan of one of the teams and that team had either never been or never won then I'd say it's worth it. 49ers haven't won since '94 so it would probably be worth it to go especially as a younger fan.
There was someone posting on a sub (not sure which one) that his mom won SB tickets but had no intention of going He came for advice about selling. Now I'm curious whatever came of it
It’s the same song and dance every year. People unload tickets day of or day before. I went to the saints superbowl for $500 waiting until the day of. The last time the superbowl was in New Orleans guys working for cbs or whatever channel was broadcasting were unloading tickets before the game.
I feel so lucky to have gone to the bucs superbowl when they beat the chiefs. Tickets were $1500 a pop and my dad brought me a long. An experience that i will never forget. I even took the a couple fake little cardboard cut out people that the filled for social distancing. This game should be more attainable to go too. First come first served at a reasonable price.
Considering the last time they played in 2020, the get in price was around the same all the way leading up to the game, this isn’t that crazy. The venue is better with more hotels and flights, and it’s closer to SF making it possible to drive (if you wanted to). Given inflation and tech stocks doing well, I expected $7k min.
With that said, only my wealthiest friends are going. 1% of top 1% because $5k is nothing at the end of the day for them.
Well tbf you’d be hard pressed to find any professional sport in the world that doesn’t have massively inflated ticket prices for their finals.
Simple supply/demand at play
5K would be a new TV, couch, food, drinks, a few jerseys and shirts and round trip Ubers for 20 people over at my house. knowing me though, i’m gonna be in bed watching through the laptop because i’m a nervous wreck.
One day I'd like to go to a Super Bowl. I should start saving up for Super Bowl 70 now.
Cheaper to save up for a Time Machine to go back to a Super Bowl in the 1970s
I don’t think they usually get this high. I think a big part of it is that it’s in Vegas. Don’t get me wrong they’re still expensive but not usually 5k a ticket
Around 5k has been the get in price for the most recent super bowls. Usually the best time to buy is the week before and right after kickoff. They will spike up the week leading up to then level off and they used to drop a lot after kickoff. But not so much any more. Went to a Super Bowl about 10 years ago for under 1k when I waited. But haven’t seen that since.
Right after kickoff? People buy tickets after the game starts?
Sellers want to get any money back possible. Value drops after the game goes live. If you’re looking for a miracle, best time to find it. Same thing works for concert + festival tickets.
Fortunately since you’d be in Vegas this year, it’s not like your weekend is trashed if you don’t get a good ticket price. Then you just go explore
Explore is an odd way of saying "fill your body with every substance possible and blow your kids college fund at the craps table"
Hey there’s some cool non-drinking and gambling stuff to do. Like Omega-Mart, I could kill like 6 hours there easily
This guy sobers
But, but... The flair
That shit was super cool, def worth it
I'm still upset I didn't go to Omega-Mart when I was in Vegas
I do it for regular season games and it works out pretty well. I pregame and eat at a bar by the stadium, and eventually someone will sell a ticket for dirt cheap shortly before, or after kickoff via a ticket reselling apps. The game is 3 1/2 hours, so missing 5-15 minutes from kickoff only equates to a few minutes of actual in-game action.
Done this a bunch at NHL games. Scalpers outside don’t have much leverage when the game has started and want to recoup any money
I've tried that and haven't been successful. The apps have been a lot more efficient, especially at getting great seats.
What app do you use? Stubhub?
Seatgeek is good for this Almost went to a phils game for $5 but PATCO tunnels didn't get good reception. A shame since we beat the cubs 12-3 that day.
I use seatgeek
For a while it was good. Until the owners banded together and formed their Super Bowl package company. Now they will just stick at their price and go unsold at a point and won’t care because they are making bank anyways.
Nosebleeds for our Super Bowl in ‘17 were ~3500. I checked. I decided to put some money away every year after ‘04 and got a rude awakening of just how broke I really am. That’s just tickets, flights/hotels get more expensive too.
Well I guess I was wrong. I can justify spending 4-5 grand for my girl and I to go to a super bowl. But 10k just for us to get in is just way to much
To help with calculations, I went for LIII and the whole weekend for airfare, hotel, the actual tickets and some souvenirs in total was like 16K for two. There are other ways that have been mentioned and some times they work but my father and I don’t want to risk it because we thought it was the last time we would have a chance to see the Patriots in a Super Bowl (and that could actually be true) so it was absolutely worth it for the memories but it was a tough pill to swallow.
It's gets cheaper closer to Game time. Tickets to last year's nosebleeds were at $3800, but dropped down to $1300 hours before kickoff.
We just gotta wait till they invent a Time Machine, then we can go back and get in for like 5 bucks.
Such a shame that this event is so corporate it’s almost unobtainable for the actual fans.
That’s how all of the nfl is - a huge majority of people who watch have never been to a game

Fr I would love if my gf asked me football questions lol. She’s trying to show interest smh 🤦♂️
She's trying give her credit lol I tried to get into hockey and must have asked what offsides was 700 times. I still don't know lmao
I eat before the game and sneak in a plastic flask full of vodka.
Gronkowski didn’t have the angle! Phins up!
A MIRACLE. MIRACULOUS IN MIAMI!!” Right up there with “Should the Spurs foul?
Tickets are super cheap, it's way more chill and I just leave when I feel like it.
idk man I love going to the games lol the energy there is off the charts this sub is so cringe sometimes
It’s because when op goes to games he has to be around other eagles fans.
> That’s how all of the nfl is - a huge majority of people who watch have never been to a game That's how it is in 2023/24, but that's not how it was. You used to be able to get decent seats at Arrowhead for $40 and parking was $25, now the nosebleeds in the corners are $300 for games and parking is $50. It really wasn't that long ago that going to multiple games a year was easily affordable for working class people.
This is why I opted to go to the NFCCG instead. Much better atmosphere with real fans at 10% the cost
The real life pro tips are always in the comments.
That’s absolutely insane that all those dudes at a 49ers game with their 49ers gear on were all just fake fans! Corporate imposters man, I tell ya
This is why the conference championship games are my favorite.
Weird flair
Snowbirds be like that
I luckily have a sports agent friend who manages some big names but even through his agencies rates it’s still insane. Lots of money to be made with resale on these. I can get 50 yard line seats for 12 grand each. I however will be holding demonic rituals at my house that day in an effort to help the chiefs lose to the niners and save some cash in the process.
> I however will be holding demonic rituals at my house that day in an effort to help the chiefs lose to the niners you are doing God's work
Oh man Purdy wouldn’t like that, please give extra in the donation plate instead and have an extra crispy body of Christ
Hey you gotta cover all your bases. Purdy can pray but the rest of us gotta get everything else done. My spiritual commune with forest spirits is Wednesday just to get them enough time to prepare.
It's supply and demand. The only alternative is to raffle them but that isn't that satisfying of a solution and it doesn't make nearly as much money.
You're right I just found an excuse to complain about the commercials.
It all went downhill after the “whattsss up” commercial
Man, this is what depresses me about commercials nowadays. It's always some dumb celebrity up there saying "buy product". Alot of the ones back then at least had some kind of joke attached to it. But no, here's Zoe Saldana fawning over an iPhone every 10 minutes
The logistics of having 100,000,000 + people watch the game live would be amazing though!
The commercials started going downhill in the 2010s. Like many other things, COVID completely killed them. As someone else said, all the heart tugging crap started becoming commonplace. I don't even bother paying much attention to them anymore.
Only around 15 years ago you could still get tickets for under $1k.
Well MetLife does suck. But I think this would be a fun experience in Vegas. If I was super rich that is
I briefly looked at tickets.
**[] Yes** [] No
Hey but at least they’re also offering payment plans now too. Because I really want to pay off my TM fees at 29% over two years.
Oof no one should be buying tickets these expensive on credit.
✅ 🟩 here you go
They actually give you an option? I thought it would just be "Yes" and "Yes."
> A giant fuck you too Ticketmaster Could have just ended it there. They have a monopoly on concert and sports ticket sales, wish some other competitor would show up.
Isn't that what StubHub and SeatGeek are?
Tried to be, before their fan friendly policies got them burned. All while Ticketmaster started their own version of a re-sale platform and made it way easier to sale your own tix through their platform
The SB has always been for the wealthiest people. From a fan experience perspective, the best game you could go to is a home conference championship
Yeah, I think [SNL nailed it with this one.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjlIFPJUL5Q) The SB is more for non-fans than fans, at this point, and has been for years.
Fanbases that travel well and in Vegas. It was over from the start.

Pretty sure the Atlanta New England Super Bowl was talked about as being relatively inexpensive. Fatigue from NE fans and Atlanta not having fans being a big reason I would guess.
So we just have to hope for a Chargers-Falcons Super Bowl and we can all score cheap SB tickets.
Don’t forget to put it in Houston or Jacksonville!
I knew a classmate that went to see SB 49 in Phoenix. It was her family along with her boyfriend. It’s disappointing to see that’s not a possible thing for us regular folks anymore
Nah, same teams in Miami, lowest tickets were in the 2k range.
Prior to Covid though, totally fucks our barometer here
I wonder how many of these high rollers won’t leave the tables long enough to actually attend the game.
No lie, one of my friend's boss is a MEGA gambler (like, whale level) and he got free Super Bowl tickets from a casino (a minor gift, considering the amount he's loss in gambling is probably 15x fold). Why did this mfer sell the tickets to do more gambling. lol So in theory, you're absolutely correct that they won't leave the table to attend the game.
I got tickets for the CFP National Championship through my school for $500 and because of that my 49ers loving dad thought he could get into the Super Bowl for a grand or two. Good luck with that dad.
I'm super curious, how is your dad a Niner fan, but you ended up a Seahawks fan?
Well he kinda fumbled it. Spent my childhood going to Giants and Sharks games but never a Niners game. Ran around in Patty Marleau and Barry Bonds shirts but never had anything Niners in my closet. He watched them every Sunday and I'd join him at times but I didn't really get into football until I was enrolled at Washington and by then it was too late. My college friends were all Seahawks fans and Beastquake was my freshman year.
Note to self: buy future children Bills gear ✍️
It doesn’t always work. I used to have a Niners sweatshirt growing up that my mom gave me but my dad was the one who got me into football
my dad is an avid Packer fan and I had quite a few Packers shirts that he gave me.
When I have my first boy I’m going to buy him a Pats jersey when he’s around 6 months old and take him to JC Penney to do a photo shoot
Probably the scummiest thing a kid could do to their father
Most resale apps there is usually a toggle somewhere where you can turn on “show prices with fees”
That's why I only use TickPick anymore. They give you prices including all fees. It's refreshing to actually pay the price they show you.
Insane, what are the fees even for, it’s an online system and you are given a digital ticket. I was messing around with hotel and flight packages, you could stay in Vegas at any nice hotel, for 3 weeks for less than $6k
I think everyone has asked that question since Ticketmaster's inception. The answer is and always has been "because fuck you"
I honestly don't think I could enjoy myself if that's what I paid for tickets.
Exactly, all I would be thinking about is if I'm getting the most out of my money. Hell, going to the bathroom would have me sweating. Could you imagine missing an epic play, while you were standing in line for the bathroom. Like wtf is the point.
I went in 2018, I promise you it was worth it. I never left my seat
especially if your team ended up losing. imagine paying like 8k to watch your team lose the super bowl from the nosebleeds
Best $1000 I never spent.
i was really tempted to buy tickets to the chiefs bills playoff game this year and i’m so glad i didn’t pay like $500 to get my heart broken lol
Thats how I feel. My GF wants to go but its just way to freaking much. Idk if I would pay $500!
Don't do it, spend that money elsewhere. We're having a SB party with our friends and are perfectly content.
You could throw quite the super bowl party with 10k
If you're traveling and staying in a hotel you're looking at spending a lot more coin than just the cost of the ticket too.
For what you'd spend you could get a good used car for that lmao

Paying $5k to see my team win it all still isn't worth it. Lol
It’s better to just invest in a good surround sound system or a 4k TV. To watch the games Or a good meal and good drinks at a bar while watching the game. Way better use of your money
The Super Bowl is a 2 hour drive away and my team's in it. But that's a shit ton of money to spend. Tempting, but nope.
My friend and I made a pact in high school 20 years ago that we’d go to the Super Bowl when the Vikings made it.
congrats on saving money
My good friend lives in Vegas and he’s also a huge Niners fan. I could fly with points and stay with him for free. But no way I’m dropping $5k on a ticket.
GLAAD is running a sweepstakes that ends TODAY with $25 entries... but no travel/lodging included so maybe only good for nearby people like you
When I went to see the saints in 2009. I bought tickets for double face value. I paid $1,600
The only time I’d ever go to a SB game would be if it was my team and it was at my stadium. The tickets would also be free in this scenario.
Will that’s better than $9-$10k last week. Still not dropping $10k on tickets, plus flight/hotel/entertainment…
First few days it was $9500, then last week $6000 or so. $5000 is a HUUUUGE bargain! /s
Dang, that's 200x times the cost of the Chiefs Wildcard game this year
You can use [this site](https://cfb-tickets.com/) to track ticket prices and inventory over time to identify the optimal time to buy. Unfortunately the Super Bowl never drops to a price point for normal fans to realistically obtain, but for other events you can save some money by timing your purchase well.
Chief$-49er$
Chief$-$4,900ers
Saved over $100, not bad
Now he can afford half a beer
These prices are absolutely ridiculous. These prices are not for the average person.
The Super Bowl is for celebrities and influencers who don’t even watch but got invited for free from a brand. Sad.
My couch is free.
I was about to drop it all for the Lions but I got womp womp'd in Santa Clara. Great time, great stadium but tough loss to swallow.
How do you feel about Bradley Cooper? He seems like a legit fan who probably watches every game he can
Love him, definitely feels like a legit fan. I went to a game this year and he was there. In our Super Bowl he was in the owners box wearing Eagles gear. I don’t begrudge anyone who’s a fan and can afford to go.
rob lowe nfl hat lol
A bunch of celebrities will meet up and just hang while listening to usher and have some small event playing in the background. This is the definition of only showing up to church only on Christmas. I’d bet most of them couldn’t name a single o-linemen or a running back not named CMC in this game… that or they would call Deebo a RB
Besides the traditional corporate stuff add in how many seats the casinos also bought for high rollers and whales .
There isn't a ticket at the lowest price mentioned unless without fees. Or it sold within a minute.
I remember when I was a kid, we were shocked at the $900 price tag for superbowl tickets...supply and demand I guess
If I was a fan of one of the teams and that team had either never been or never won then I'd say it's worth it. 49ers haven't won since '94 so it would probably be worth it to go especially as a younger fan.
Everyone knows the Super Bowl is for celebs, not fans.
There was someone posting on a sub (not sure which one) that his mom won SB tickets but had no intention of going He came for advice about selling. Now I'm curious whatever came of it
I looked on Tick Pick the other day and the cheapest was $7200. And those seats were terrible
I’ll be watching in comfort at a friend’s house.
It’s FREE from my living room. 👍😋
Bargain.
Mahooms looking rough
Imagine the party you could have at home for $5k. You would be a legend.
Completely off topic, but how much do you think the World Cup final tickets will cost in ‘26??
It’s the same song and dance every year. People unload tickets day of or day before. I went to the saints superbowl for $500 waiting until the day of. The last time the superbowl was in New Orleans guys working for cbs or whatever channel was broadcasting were unloading tickets before the game.
I'm convinced that Goodell doesn't like regular fans inside football stadiums.
Of course they don’t, they want attractive, famous, rich people shown. Those are the people who get you viewers from the average non football fan.
Absolutely not worth it at all. I’d never pay those prices even if it were the Texans and they were playing in Houston. Insane
A 98" Samsung goes for $5,000 at Best Buy this week.
Or I could just go back to training camp again for free and be 15 feet from Mahomes again.
Disgusting.
Imagine even paying 1k+ for a Football game. I wish I still enjoyed stick n ball sports, who pays to watch a little kids game lol..
Well tbf you’d be hard pressed to find any professional sport in the world that doesn’t have massively inflated ticket prices for their finals. Simple supply/demand at play
I think it’s crazy how for the cost of one nosebleed ticket I could get a new couch, TV and all the food I want to host an epic party at home
Um… sorry but I need an explanation for the flair
I don’t understand how anyone can like a second team in general but liking a second one that’s a division rival?!? The guy is loony
yeah… what’s going on there??
5K would be a new TV, couch, food, drinks, a few jerseys and shirts and round trip Ubers for 20 people over at my house. knowing me though, i’m gonna be in bed watching through the laptop because i’m a nervous wreck.
