Best syrup I ever had was a collectors edition Log Cabin syrup tin in the shape of an actual log cabin and filled with syrup. There was something about that specific syrup that was incredibly tasty and ever since then I could never find anything like it.
I found an image of the 1987 tin I’m referring to and it says corn syrup, water and maple syrup as the first 3 ingredients. I think Cracker Barrrel syrup has cane syrup alongside maple.

Unless there are two companies making it the original was maple syrup & cane sugar.

Sorry, this is the one I’m referring to. Check the image of the bottom of the tin.
It’s the same company. Just sold to general foods. Over the years the recipe went from maple/cane syrup to maple/corn syrup to current having no maple in it at all.
We were so broke we just got whatever generic store brand "maple flavored" syrup was available. My mom said when she was a kid, they used King syrup on their pancakes (as in just plain dark corn syrup).
I remember my mom always had Karo for cooking and I would use it on pancakes and I thought it was this magical clear syrup.
Just straight corn syrup. Ate tons of it.
Aunt Jemimah/Butterworth's/Log Cabin or nothing.
Funny thing, the Shari's restaurant we used to go to all the time had House Recipe syrup (Sysco's store brand) which admittedly was very good. My grandparents loved it and some years ago grandma managed to get the restaurant's GM to hook her up with a case of it. When we'd go in at times he was working, he'd come by our table and ask her, "you doing OK on syrup?"

Log cabin was a blend of maple syrup & cane syrup. Log cabin was sold & still exists but the new recipe doesn’t contain any maple syrup at all.

Good info, thank you for that. It all tastes good, but the corn syrup/maple syrup combo was the best.
General Foods Corporation! There's a blast from the past.
This bottle is so nostalgic 🥹
TIL Eggo made their own maple syrup.
Probably more *corn* than maple, tho.
Actually Kelloggs made it. "Eggo" is one of their brand names.
Here to elevate the legend HUNGRY JACK!
On your own. Haven’t had it once unless they have a commercial equivalent
No real maple, no real butter. That's the good stuff!
Aunt Jerimiah’s or nothing
🤣 my aunt jerimiah used to be my uncle jerimiah. My favorite syrup has always been aunt jemima's 👍
I used to like oh boy! in addition to auntie
I was a log cabin kid myself
Mrs Butterworths or nothing
Stand on it
“Buttery”, lol.

My grandma still uses light corn syrup on hers, not even maple flavored.

Good to know I'm not the only one who does that! Karo on pancakes with scrambled eggs = bliss.
We used log cabin until we started using maple.
I can taste the buttery flavor
I don't what to know what's inside this thing
