Went in 93, rode a bus from New Hampshire, advisor told us it was casual dress- We get there, everyone was wearing prom clothes, we had boat shoes/shorts and they almost didn't let us in. They made us wear security clothes and carry notes with us saying we were allowed to exist. Still got stopped like 20 times. Ride lines were ~3 hours long but I got to see PM Dawn front row and Prince B the Eternal acknowledged me š¤š¤
This is why Europeans get confused and think they can road trip across the US in a week. This is 1400 miles. This is the same as driving from Paris to Belarus.
Yup. We have European friends that had family members that wants to do Miami, Texas, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, in a week. We died laughing
Iāve done 400 miles in a bus of students and that was nearly murder
Aw sucks they stopped it. The best part was running around without chaperones hovering, for what felt like the first time. And trying to find hot guys from other schools lol
Another 1995er here. When we filed back onto the bus at 3AM I fell asleep glad that when I woke up, we would be back home. I woke up at 9AM and we were still in the goddamn parking lot!
Also, the Indiana Jones ride had just opened and they were still passing out the little decoder cards.
I always forget about Disney World being from California! š¤¦š½āāļø and donāt know how to read the ticket apparently. Either way, it was a good time lol.
I'm from Florida and grew up in the 80s. While I don't forget that Disneyland exists, I'll admit that I never thought about Disneyland having a Grad Night just like we did until just this moment.
I went in 2002, they made a whole crazy weekend out of it where we went to multiple parks and had a hotel in between. It was basically nonstop theme parks for 3 days and I wanted to die at the end of it all lol
Who played at your event? 1988 here. We had Men Without Hats and Klymaxx.
Soooo many kids not used to staying up until dawn. Disney wouldnāt let us sleep just a little on the benches, so PeopleMover and Great Moments with Mr.Lincoln got really popular.
I went in "88 (Disneyland) also. I was only a Junior, but talked a Senior friend into taking me. Went two years in a row. "89 had New Kids on the Block and Samantha Foxx.
Went to grad night in 1990, my first time there. I remember at 430am everyone else was done. I went to Space Mountain and rode it 4 times in a row because there was no line.
I worked one in 2009 and it was pretty fun- got to group a couple that had broken up right before getting to the front of the line so I had to put them in different rows and tried to deliver the safety spiel while the girl was just openly sobbing lol
Space Mountain was a war zone- one of the leads tried to crack down on line jumping and her radio ended up in Toontown. Autopia had a ton of issues with both the teens and chaperones trying to smoke in the cars. Probably a good thing they moved them over to DCA.
I saw a girl get legit clotheslined by a security guard when the gate opened for Disneyland, she ran in early and the security went full Bradshaw on her lol
Wow I wonder if they still had Grad Night. I'm sad to see it gone. I went in '91. They had top musical acts also. We had C&C Music Factory and a bunch of others
They were still doing it in 2013. They accidentally scheduled their 24 hours of Disney Monsterās University day the same as grad night and everyone had to pack into Disneyland til they opened DCA back up to the rest of us at 2AM.
We had my senior trip in Disney in 2005. 3 days there, they booked two flights from NJ. It was a shitshow. Somehow everyone at the hotel got in smuggled alcohol and weed so it was just a crazy party that the teachers didn't know how to control. Friends were smoking weed on the white water rapids ride and shit. We almost got kicked out of the water park because we jumped out of the large raft and tried to ride the large wide slide down on our asses instead (note don't do this those slides were concrete) and it was just overall mayhem.
I miss it.
In Toronto we had Grad Night at Wonderland, our local theme park. Incredible wasted night.
Open till 4am.
My fav part was when I told all drunk friends we had to head to the bus to get home, they decided to stay a bit longer. I got to the parking lot to find 100+ school buses with no rhyme or reason to the organization.
Most relief to find the bus and hear my friends had to split a taxi they couldn't afford to get home at 7am in the rain
Sooo good.
I took a senior class this year, they still do it. Itās altered slightly though. You can go as early as you want the day of but the public is still there. Students migrate over to CA adventure and is open till 3.
Disneyland still does it, at least until a couple years ago. I made the mistake of booking a trip the same day or next day as grad night. I think they blocked out a few nights for multiple schools.
I went in 1985. Good time and we absolutely rocked that hotel we were at. smoking and gambling every night! if I remember correctly nobody tried to sneak any alcohol into the hotel. I even remember smoking on the plane to and from. Here's the list of performers
[https://myq105.com/2023/04/07/florida-grad-nite-performers-from-1976-to-1995/](https://myq105.com/2023/04/07/florida-grad-nite-performers-from-1976-to-1995/)
My mother went to Disney *Land* for her Grad Nite in- *I don't remember when.* She and her friends all eventually went on the Indiana Jones ride, and it broke down *right underneath the boulder*
Went in 1999 and saw an up and coming artist named Britney Spears and also was one of first groups into island of adventure park. Not an influencer or phone in site.
omg I had to work these for a few years at Cosmic rays starlight Cafe! I once drank 3 energy drinks to stay awake and threw up. Won't be doing that again.
I went to grad night at Disneyland in 86. One of the worst decisions of my life. I should have hung out with my buddies or spent the time with family.
I didnāt have a date. My plan was to hang with some people I knew but they ditched me. The park was super packed- grads from as far away as Utah were doing grad night. I remember I had a new pair of shoes that were killing my feet, and there were so many buses it took me forever to find the right one for the ride home.
lol holy shit they stopped them in 2011??
I graduated in 2010 and I remember mine like it was yesterday. At least my millennial ass got lucky this one time.

New Hampshire to Disney world in a bus?!
This is why Europeans get confused and think they can road trip across the US in a week. This is 1400 miles. This is the same as driving from Paris to Belarus.
Yup. We have European friends that had family members that wants to do Miami, Texas, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, in a week. We died laughing Iāve done 400 miles in a bus of students and that was nearly murder
You can easily do that but all you are going to do is drive and see nothing but TA and Flying J truck stops.
Aw sucks they stopped it. The best part was running around without chaperones hovering, for what felt like the first time. And trying to find hot guys from other schools lol
Sooo, did you lose your v card behind splash mountain????
1995 at Disneyland, and it was the BEST! Soft opening of Indiana Jones and there were no lines for anything.
I was there in 1995 too I loved being able to walk on to the Indiana Jones ride. No Doubt played a concert the night I was there.
Ha on our way back I slept but woke up for a minute.. the entire bus was asleep except the driver.
My tour bus caught on fire the way back home. Good times.
I am sorry, but the succinctness of this comment was so funny to me.
Went in 2006! What a night! I didnāt realize it was open to schools outside of CA.
I think theyāre talking about Disney World in this thread. Pretty sure grad nite at Disneyland is still a thing.
It definitely is. I'm in NV and a lot of schools from here go to Disneyland for grad night!
Yep, my wife chaperoned this past year.
I went in 2002, they made a whole crazy weekend out of it where we went to multiple parks and had a hotel in between. It was basically nonstop theme parks for 3 days and I wanted to die at the end of it all lol
I went in 2002 as well! It was such an awesome time! Some of the music was Christina Milian, Petey Pablo and City High.
2002 here! So much fun!
My daughter just graduated and went all night long.
Mine too. Disneyland.
Who played at your event? 1988 here. We had Men Without Hats and Klymaxx. Soooo many kids not used to staying up until dawn. Disney wouldnāt let us sleep just a little on the benches, so PeopleMover and Great Moments with Mr.Lincoln got really popular.
1980. KC and the Sunshine band
I was there for that!š
1987, at Disneyland we had Wang Chung, Berlin and Glass Tiger.
Britney Spears
I went in "88 (Disneyland) also. I was only a Junior, but talked a Senior friend into taking me. Went two years in a row. "89 had New Kids on the Block and Samantha Foxx.
Klymaxx!! Iām so jealous.
Went in 01 and it was a very memorable night for so many reasons
Please tell me you didnāt ride Adventures Through Innercourseā¦
Oh there was definitely innercourse and it was adventurous
Went to grad night in 1990, my first time there. I remember at 430am everyone else was done. I went to Space Mountain and rode it 4 times in a row because there was no line.
That's the year I went, too! I can't remember the musical act, do you?
No idea
I worked one in 2009 and it was pretty fun- got to group a couple that had broken up right before getting to the front of the line so I had to put them in different rows and tried to deliver the safety spiel while the girl was just openly sobbing lol Space Mountain was a war zone- one of the leads tried to crack down on line jumping and her radio ended up in Toontown. No one is gonna mention back in 1980 it was only 10 Goddamn dollars
I had to cut two lawns to pay for it. Lol.
Having $10 in 1980 was like having $100 now
... or $40, close enough.
Had mine in 1998 and thatās the one and only time I got to ride the Rocket Rods. So much fun!
Shit I remember waiting two hours to ride that bitch.. the bones of it is still there today.. was fun though
Went in '95 No Doubt was the band playing for ours.
2000 for me
We had my senior trip in Disney in 2005. 3 days there, they booked two flights from NJ. It was a shitshow. Nooo I didnāt know they stopped this Such a fun time

Genuinely one of the coolest experiences of my life, had an excellent time despite the ridiculously long bus drive.
I took a senior class this year, they still do it. Itās altered slightly though. You can go as early as you want the day of but the public is still there. Students migrate over to CA adventure and is open till 3.
The overnight with a bunch of other schools only felt free as fuckā¦
Cool. I went to Senior Night in 1976 at Six Flags over Texas. Great memory.
I went in 88.
I went in 1991. There were a bunch of high schools there besides us, but not as busy as a regular day at Disney.
That was my year too! Fun night. I remember En Vogue performed.
Went in the 90's. Best night ever. Gel Tabs, splash mountain on loop.
Went in 2008 and had a blast!
Wow I didnāt know it ended in 2011, I went in 2010! lol
That's really odd because my high school's grad nite was at Disneyland for 2012.
Disneyland still does it, at least until a couple years ago. I made the mistake of booking a trip the same day or next day as grad night. I think they blocked out a few nights for multiple schools.
Same. Went in 2012.
I guess OP is just wrong then lol

Damn I went in 2011, was that really the last year for Disneyland? Thatās crazy! I think I still have my stub somewhereĀ
According to previous comments, its only Disney World that stopped
It sucked that Disneyland insisted that all students had to wear dress clothes back when I went in 1987. Wearing a suit on rides was lame.
I like this thread. šæ
I did it in 2022 it still happens
'99 here, bussed in from the Inland Empire...Aquabats on the Tomorrowland stage...3 hour line for Space Mountain. Great times!
I went to grad night at Disneyland in 86. One of the worst decisions of my life. I should have hung out with my buddies or spent the time with family. I didnāt have a date. I went in 98. Too bad they stopped, it was pretty cool.
Went in 1995 on a motor coach bus. Super casual walked onto every ride. 12pm to 6am. Was great nice and cool
Went in ā07 and it was honestly such a fun night having a whole amusement park to yourself š„²
I went to Disney World in ā94. Tag Team played. It was fun running around the park with nothing but high school seniors.
They still have grad nite at Disneyland.
We had "Grad Bash" at my school which was at Universal Studios. I went in 2012 and Pitbull performed lol.
I went in 2000. First time I ever ate acid. To date, most fun I've ever had.
I went in 2012! That may have been the last
Went in 2010, got really lucky it seems haha
I went in 2012 tho
lol holy shit they stopped them in 2011?? I graduated in 2010 and I remember mine like it was yesterday. At least my millennial ass got lucky this one time.
Going to Disneyland as an adult the same time as graduates super sucks though. They are feral. Iām glad itās over.
1992 at Disneyland. It was amazing.
The last year I know my school went for sure was 06. I graduated in 07ā¦ we got mulligans. I was bored after 10 minutes š¤¦š¾āāļø
Im thinking some schools stopped going while the event continued.
