I still leave spiders alone or move them to a quite corner and rescue worms, snails and slugs off sidewalks. I save bees, wasps and flies from the house. I keep mason and bumblebees now. I'm in my late 20s. Never grow out of it.
I used to hate spiders. Not because I'm scared of them. I just find them annoying when they're in the house and would often kill them. Then, one time, a spider made a Web outside my window. My bed is directly beside the window, so it would be the first thing I would see every morning. I saw it go through many seasons. Sometimes it's Web would break due to flies or be completely decimated due to harsh weather. Every time this happened, the spider would come out from its little crevice and busy itself repairing its Web. The dedication the spider showed made me see the spider in a new light. No matter how messed up its web got, it would always come out to do its job.
It gave me a new respect for Spiders, and I no longer kill them.
Moths though? I kill everyone of those fuckers. Eating holes into my expensive clothes. Damn those to hell.
That's dumb. Lawns are meant to be mowed and cicadas are ample enough that it doesn't matter.
I hate when people value their children's naive logic just because they think it's "cute."
What about this photo of your daughter is interesting enough to be posted in this subreddit?
My daughter did this around the same age. She now has the world wrapped around her little finger.
OH MY GOD SHE MUST BE GIGANTIC!
Kids who don't get scared by insects ,scares me .

Growing up knowing kids like that they either became vets, biologists or struggling artists still living on their parents money.

Adorable 🥰
girls who love bugs!!! protect them at all costs!
My daughter did this same thing. She loves the cicadas. My son, however, is terrified.
Someday that’s going to be one of her favorite childhood pictures.
Yeah, but I'm supposing the lawn mower does not sound good either.
Kindhearted little girl :)
My chickens go crazy over those bugs
Ok this girl is brave. If that was me I'd be screaming like a little girl.
A good brother you have and an awesome niece you can make greater.
She’s a cutie. 😊
Ew. Those things are nasty.
I too find children to be upsetting.
