Either Pokémon made Poppy 9 because a lot of people complaint about how a kid that young weren’t allowed to be trainers (which has only been the case within the anime) or my headcanon is that she lied about her own age because she got fed up with the people at Blueberry Academy treating her like a kid… Which she is, but you know how sometimes they want to pretend to be older I like my headcanon better which is something I rarely say, but I’m sorry, they CANNOT convince me she’s 9…

There’s many trainer classes in the game that are obviously younger than 10 (even some characters from the anime that are young than ash have Pokémon of their own) Pretty sure it was an anime only thing that they didn’t think would contradict stuff from the game (maybe it’s like that but only for specific towns)

Think it was before pokemon 2000 they said they been together a year and had a party? I know they always say he 10 but to me each Gen is a year so in this to me he was 16 and ended at 18
