>i’m on a ps4, with no ssd, so i’m sure that’s the reason. Basically, I moved the game to my SSD (PC) and load times went from minutes to seconds,

[deleted]

Second this, the game is unplayable on console (i played through twice on ps4, if you put the game on a external ssd it gets slighly more bearable) even on ps5 the load times are huge... It is very sad as the game is really good but the ps port is unacaptable trash.

Writing_Gods

I have no problem with load times on PS5. Less than 10 seconds to got to a different map.

dairymoose

It's called eternity for a reason

VisibleElephant

Yeah it's the hardware you're using causing that problems. I'd personally say the only way to play this game is on PC with a good SSD installed. The rest of the computer can be not the best but the SSD should be fast. My load times are around 5-15 sec

Mr_Kittlesworth

Which is still long. The game just has long load of times, and that’s exacerbated by anything other than an ideal system.

Ravmagn

That's definitely a long time when all you're doing is taking a staircase and the moment you finish loading, you're taking another. Loading between areas is the single biggest negative of the game.

VisibleElephant

5-15 sec long time ? I'd personally say that's a short loading time.

sumdeadhorse

yeah i had switch from ps4 to pc good thing cd keys are cheap.

Ljngstrm

Kids these days...

WakeoftheStorm

I remember games where you had to swap discs depending on what area you were in

Ljngstrm

Exactly. And then th chance of the CD etc. not being read, or you had to take the games out of the console to blow away dust and hair.

Ravmagn

You didn't have to swap discs to go upstairs in a house though.

LonelyNixon

Pillars one does have a bad loading bug on hdd on pc, at least it did when I last played in on HDD on my pc years ago. At first its fine but it does get progressively longer as the game goes on and by the last act it can remind you of ps1 era loading and is especially bad because there are a lot of houses and doors you have to enter and are met with loading screens for each of them. Ive also heard bad things about the console ports(though pillars 2 got a worse port).

Kazhaar

Same issue, and after my last disappoitement (pathfinder kingmaker) i decide to stop buying any game made with unity until i get a better pc

LonelyNixon

An ssd even a sata one should fix the loading issues for the PC versions of the game.

Nyamii

It's poorly optimized in that way, and definitely unplayable on console.

jordosmodernlife

Playing on PS5 and I’m well into the game. Now it’s started crashing and bugging. Very frustrating when I’m in the middle of an epic battle and it just quits. Oh well, back to Elden Ring.

onepoundfeesh

Im loving the game but I feel exactly the same. Load times are ridiculius - even on PS5! Something as simple as going upstairs at an inn can take anywhere from 20-60seconds. Its starting to wear me out and I don't think im going to be able to finish it

Future_Average

I play on a 2020 MacBook Air and load times are never more than 5-20 seconds at most

oopsbelgien

I started on PS4 and found it unplayable, also partly just don’t enjoy the style of game on console but don’t have a PC. However tried it out and then Deadfire just on my Mac Air M1 and it ran perfectly, barely stressed the laptop out.

smth_witty

I have M1 Mac mini and plan to play deadfire, may I ask if you can play with high settings or are those too demanding for apple silicon?

MadBiGcHeeSE

Felt the same with the xbone but I tried it with my series X and now I’m on my 3rd playthrough 😂 loading screens are seconds

mgillespie175

I Even have an M.2 and it was still pretty long lol
