Waterman Grill was great for an anniversary dinner. We went in January and put that it was a special occassion/anniversary dinner on the reservation. They gave us some champagne and had signed a card for us as well which was a total surprise. Have been several times and always good service and food
I really like Pane E Vino. I’ve done a birthday and anniversary dinner there before and when reserving I filled out the special occasion part and they put little glitter on the table. It sounds silly but made it nice. The food is great too if you like Italian
I couldn’t agree more. They take special care if you let them know it’s for something, and the food is always great.
A tip for a special occasion; when you put in your reservation, ask to have a table in the back. It’s much more spacious and private than the front of the restaurant.
Went there 2 weeks ago.
2 people - here is what I ordered:
About 6-7 glasses of wine (2 glasses as an aperitif and 4 glasses with dinner)
They have some real good wine.
1 appetizer and 2 entrees.
Walked into the Gift Horse had 2 drinks for digestifs.
A glass of rosé and a mezcal (really good juice and worth the price)
Both places combined were in the 250.00 ball park. Well worth it. If I would have skipped the Gift Horse then it would have been closer to 200.00.
The food was excellent and I would recommend.
It’s great for an anniversary dinner but you will be a little stretched for $150 if you drink alcohol. Portions are heavy and can certainly be split. My wife and I go there all the time and get two glasses of wine, split a salad and split the pizza. Ambience in the courtyard is great.
If you will be traveling outside of that timeframe and want to check them out, here is the website:[http://www.persimmonri.com/](http://www.persimmonri.com/)
I love Palo, but I don't think that's a place to have your anniversary dinner with your partner. It's more of a nicer spot to bring a group of friends. New Rivers, Persimmon, and Oberlin are good spots too. Though I think Pane E Vino is great because if you haven't been to PVD it'd be nice to finish dinner and walk around the Federal Hill fountain after your meal. It's pretty and romantic. You could even skip dessert at Pane and go to Pastiche and split a slice of cake. (oops they don't do indoor seating anymore sorry)
Oberlin is good, but hard to get out for under 100/person with drinks.
Otra, CAV, New Rivers (although last time I went, it was pretty mediocre) are all good options
Are you looking for old school traditional or more hip with interesting food?
Old school: CAV, Pane e Vino, Al Forno
Hip: Marcelino’s (mostly for drinks but the ambiance is cool and you can park at the mall and then walk anywhere downtown for a 2nd location if you’re having fun), Oberlin, Courtland Club, Bayberry Garden (generally pricey but I’ve done under 150 before), Slow Rhode.
Gracie’s is amazing (food and service) and a common anniversary spot for my friends, but might be outside the $150 budget, depending on what you order. Rosalina’s is a great spot for Italian food and then you can walk around downtown.
I second Al Forno, Nick’s on Broadway, Los Andes, and Waterman Grill for good food and atmosphere. Al Forno is the best of those in terms of location if you want to walk around India Point Park, East Side, or even meander into downtown Providence, the others you’d probably drive.
Bonus before/after dinner recommendations: Pastiche is a cute dessert spot, or even coffee and a pastry if you want a break during the day. The Eddy has great drinks (downtown). The Avery is a cool speak easy style drink spot on the West side. And the rooftop at the Providence G is good for a drink and a view downtown (but I’ve never been impressed with the food so wouldn’t recommend eating there).
Hope that helps, have fun!!

Cassarino’s
Sarto, Oberlin, Pickerel, Slow Rhode, and Gift Horse are fun spots. Super reflective of PVD’s cool food scene.
Oberlin is my special occasion choice.

Happy for your stomach, sorry for your liver
If you can score a reservation, I highly recommend Al Forno!

I wasn’t super impressed with Palo. We went last night & it was good enough but not wonderful.
Waterman Grille might be a good option.
Persimmon is outstanding. The food is great and the service never disappoints.
Oh - just read on their website they are closed from 6/30-7/9.
If you will be traveling outside of that timeframe and want to check them out, here is the website:[http://www.persimmonri.com/](http://www.persimmonri.com/)

Mill's Tavern is my goto celebration spot. Amazing deserts, steaks, and apps I think there is usually a prix fix menu. The staff is the nicest.
Oberlin.
Not Forno. Nick's on Broadway is amazing and reliably has a wonderful atmosphere.
The best, always! Also free glass of bubbly for anniversary
Palo would be great for this!!
Amaryllis. CAV.
Los Andes! SO good
This.
Los Andes!

Bayberry Garden
Second this!! We love this as a date spot. It can be a tad expensive so it’s definitely nice for an occasion.
Massimo
aguardente

Venda, and make a reservation on open table. They have valet.
There shouldn’t be any other options except Palo or Delores.
Wait until restaurant weeks in July!!
