if you enjoy goth/alt music the wicked witch has a goth night once a month. they also have a kink/queer night once a month. dance floor isnt huge but its been fun
Legends isn't bad for dancing. Their dancefloor typically opens up around 10 or 11 I believe. Sometimes the music choices the DJ makes can be questionable but overall it's decent.
All the other local queer bars are kinda small from what I've seen, and it's been during events so I'm not sure how good they are for dancing.
The Fruit in Durham is the go-to.
Club Era just opened downstairs (owned by Naomi Dix, an incredible local drag queen).
Slingshot festival in October is usually a great time for techno-adjacent vibes.
Blends with Friends is a weekly night at the pinhook on Wednesdays allowing people to DJ on the sound system
I recommend going down an instagram rabbithole and following the local DJs and producers. You’ll find most events there
In Raleigh, I’m partial to Neptunes for dancing.
Queer space, The Fruit in Durham! They have a schedule of events on their website so you can check out what the music vibe will be.
Download the Edmtrain app 👍
The Fruit and The Lincoln will be the main venues right now in the Triangle to catch major artists
There are local acts more frequently at smaller bars
Charlotte generally is where major Djs play for good reason
I want to open a club that plays Chicago/Detroit house music exclusively.
I want you to open this club
Check out the Fruit in Durham, they occasionally have nights with DJs that’ll check that box.

Went for the first time a month ago to the WW, had no idea what to expect and it was wonderful. The vibes were perfect
Goth night was tonight at the WW! Chapel of Bones has also started doing their own goth night (catered towards industrial)
Subrosa is every Tuesday night at Ruby Deluxe. Electronic music.
Ruby Deluxe (if it’s still around?) is exactly what you’re after.
Just drove by Ruby last night and it was hoppin'

In my experience, the Legends dj is pretty bad and not something you can actually dance to.
I was trying to be nice because different strokes for different folks but I do agree.

In other cities. Bigger cities.
Were you near a major city before this? I think this is sort of just what’s on offer if you’re not in a major city. You get what you get.
