The real test will be after two years to see if they are rust free or not. My son-in-laws aftermarket running boards look awful after 2 New England winters with all the road salt.
My RAM was born in SHAP (Sterling Heights Assembly Plant). Can’t speak for the majority of the vehicle, but every window in that truck came from central Pennsylvania.
Sure here it is. Not the world's highest quality but decent for price. [link](https://www.amazon.ca/COMNOVA-Running-2019-2024-Exclude-2019-2023/dp/B0C58XN41Y)
Mine are Ram branded, from the factory, and they suck ass. Squeaky and cheap feeling. Mopar price on those is 600 dollars. The 200 dollar Amazon ones might be an upgrade lol.
Same here. No matter how tight I hit them with an impact they would squeak 20 miles later. Service department told me to wash them after driving down a dirt road…..duh!!!
Literally nobody cares if you have mopar running boards or not. In fact I have them (because they came with my truck already) and I’m not crazy about them. There are tons of 3rd party options that are just as good or better.
Those look great.
Damn, those look actually really good. Mine look like shit by comparison. All black definitely looks cleaner than the half-chrome shit on my truck that gets slick as hell in the winter if you misplace your foot.
I have never in my life looked at someone else’s property and thought, well that’s not OEM. In fact, I’ve never given a single thought to how much money someone spent on any item they have.
Is this something you do? Do you walk around judging people for not spending as much money as possible on items?
>Is this something you do? Do you walk around judging people
Haha no I don't, not sure why you said that! I'm just asking for opinions on how they look. Just a discussion my friend
They look a lot better than the stock chrome ones on my 2020 Big Horn 1500. If they're durable and sturdy enough to support my fat ass over the years, I'd be happy with them.
I wouldn't even know what the difference between stock or aftermarket is on these. But I have aphantasia and poor image recall so I can't picture anything I'm not looking at in the moment.
I think they look good. Unless yours came with the OEM electrics, there’s no reason to buy the overpriced OEM nerf bars.
Mine had the electrics. I wouldn’t ever intentionally pay for that, they just happened to come on this one when I bought it used. If I had to purchase them - I’d be going the same route you did!!
They look great regardless. I think we have the exact same truck, down to the wheels and hood!
https://preview.redd.it/02xy74g6xj9d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4170a42011cbf3cb5790b94a37eaf02b4157ade2
I got the same ones, paid about 140-150 on eBay. I like mine for the price, and yeah they may be cheaper but they look just as good as any other running board to me, seem to hold up just fine, had a few big gals jump up in it a few times to verify.
I got my OEMs installed for free when I bought the truck. Long story. If not, would’ve done the same as you. They look good. Btw - most mods are after market anyway.
Looks good to me.
The ones my dealer put on mine in 2017 apparently didn’t use mopar either. The rust is coming through and bubbling up the chrome film.
Had the same boards from Amazon and had them for years installed on my 2015 and then one day i notice that i had a clicking noise once in while then more and more. That noise was coming from right front passenger side. I have started to look around in the cab at that side to see what was clicking every time i was going over any little bump annoying. Then to find out the step nerf bar board was doing that at the front bracket. I took both down because the brackets where not good design and clumsy to soft. If you want to buy steps don't buy with this type of brackets:
buy like this
[https://postimg.cc/2bYQCQFX](https://postimg.cc/2bYQCQFX)
You want to have the same design as the Mopar ones this way you don't have any problems later. I am still looking to buy a pair very soon for my truck.
If you don't get snow where you're at you'll probably never know the difference. Might want to look into getting them powder coating though if you get salt. I bought a cheaper set and they didn't make it through a winter before getting some rust on the brackets.
They look good though.
Some people get impressed by how much money you spent on something when you could have done the same thing for cheaper. Those people are morons. They look good.
Even though I love buying OEM when I can, buying 3rd party isn't bad whatsoever. That's what makes Trucks so great...the customization. I've never seen a vehicle you can customize so much to your liking.
I’ve been looking at probably these exact same ones or a very very very similar edition for my new 2500. Would you recommend? Part of me wanted the power ones but for $2000 it seems silly. Would you buy these again? Thanks.
Ehhh those look good!
I don’t think anybody knows/cares about if parts on your vehicle are mopar or not. As long as it’s looks good, is legit and does the job it’s suppose to do for you, that’s what matters.
Yeah, I bought some cheap Amazon ones, then a few months later I accidentally scraped a concrete pole I didn't see and they folded like a piece of paper and screwed my rocker panel all up. When I got replacements I got some much stronger Go Rhino tube steps.
That’s the last thing I’d judge. I had a set from Running Board Warehouse or something like that on my 2013 and they were fantastic for like $190, and I had them on there for probably 7 years or so.
No drilling at all, the studs are already on the truck to bolt to.
On Amazon they are called:
COMNOVA 6 Inches Running Boards for 2019-2025 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab New Body Style(Exclude Ram Classic)
I’ve got the same ones… they’ve served me well and they look great. I’m happy with my choice and no one is the wiser. I got the ones that have the hex pattern like the mopar ones.
Do they still bolt to rivnuts in the thin sheet metal like my 2014 or do they have a more solid mounting point now? My right side oem running board fell off on the highway after years of being supported by that thin metal.
That sounds better, on mine the rivnuts first worked loose and I didn’t notice and over time it ripped them out and tore a hole in the metal with it. After the right one fell off I took the left side off and spent a few hours fighting with those rivnuts spinning with the bolts and trying to hold them in place.
I like those.
Post a link of where you got them. Mine only has one on the drivers side, I need it on the other side where my wife gets in. Who thought that was a good idea???
I mean, I can tell they aren’t OEM but I don’t think anyone *cares* that they aren’t OEM. I certainly don’t. They look good on the truck and you’re happy, that’s all that matters.
Hey I did the same thing there. Spent about $150. They look like yours too. And no one has asked me how much I spent or if they're OEM. In fact they say the running boards look nice, and nicer than the nerf bars I used to have.
Literally no one cares dude. You are good to go. Also I have some chrome running boards from a twenty fifteen Laramie I can give you for free. No idea if they will fit a newer truck though.
They look good. Amazon running boards work man. I have some tyger auto running boards I bought for like 220 like 3 or 4 years ago as well as a cheap tyger auto tonneau cover. Both from Amazon and both have held up just fine especially for the price.
I mean maybe people will think it’s an up charge for a couple little strips of carpet…? 😂 jk as long as they stay attached and support your weight or needs and YOU like them. 👌🏾
Who cares anyway, if YOU'RE happy with them? Mine are a similar, and I couldn't give a crap if someone else likes them or not.
My dogs use them to get in; mission accomplished. :)
No one pays attention.
I bought mine from Americantrucks.com. They were open box and heavily discounted despite being in new condition. Apparently, lots of people return them because they think the bolts don't fit. However, they just didn't realize that the undercoating spray Ram put on the undercarriage clogs the threads. You need to brush the coating off to get the bolts to fit. People's lack of knowledge saved me some money
Do they sit up pretty high? I want ones that are just at the bottom of the cab that don’t hang down low. My Fiancé is short and can’t get in easily but I can’t compromise ground clearance
Sorry for your loss buying Dodge. But yes you got a good price. Chevy fan roasting you bro, don't get all Dodgy on me. Cheers. If you can't roast your friends who can you roast?
I bought the powerstep xl from amp research. There was a local deal that I couldn’t pass up on Memorial Day. 10% off for military families and they paid the taxes. Out the door $2600 with install.
Simple, overpriced and middling durability for the type of boards you get. The best quality mopar boards are the electronic ones with limited lifespan or the TRX ones which are also obscenely overpriced. Opinion sure, but objectively far more expensive than they need to be
Valid points. I guess my rephrased question for him would be why not buy quality boards of any brand vs cheap Amazon ones for a brand new truck?
Why not buy quality that will last you longer because when you just spent all that money, really what is an extra $400 in the grand scheme of things.
But it’s his truck not mine, was just curious.
Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
I couldn’t tell you what brand of running boards I have on my truck. You are good bro.
Thanks, I'm happy for the price. It's all made overseas anyway
The test will be stepping on it and making sure it is rock solid, not just looking at it.
Bigger test is if they rust out in a year or two.
They seem solid to be honest
I paid $200 for mine on Amazon 4 years ago and they still work great for our fat asses!
Hopefully they’re solid as a rock
Like a rock? I had to check was sub I was on. Staaaaandin arrow straight; like a rock!!!!
Hopefully they're more solid than anything on a Chevy...
The real test will be after two years to see if they are rust free or not. My son-in-laws aftermarket running boards look awful after 2 New England winters with all the road salt.
In all fairness, that's a test needed for mopar quality parts too
If you're happy that's all that matters
My mopar ones were made in Canada
That's cool, I'm from Canada and we have lost a lot of our manufacturing
That’s usually how it goes when the staff cost you $50-80/hr including payroll, healthcare, etc.
My whole Mopar was made in Canada, not just running boards lol
My RAM was born in SHAP (Sterling Heights Assembly Plant). Can’t speak for the majority of the vehicle, but every window in that truck came from central Pennsylvania.
For about a year then they will fall apart.
Ya it will be interesting to see how long until they start to rust. At least it's only $200 lol
OP do u mind sharing the Amazon link?
Sure here it is. Not the world's highest quality but decent for price. [link](https://www.amazon.ca/COMNOVA-Running-2019-2024-Exclude-2019-2023/dp/B0C58XN41Y)
No one cares and if they do they are a crappy person for caring anyway
The only people who care are the dealership parts department who didn’t get $600 from you. Source: I’m a service advisor for dodge/ram.
Thanks for that
Yep! My factory boards are starting to flake the chrome. Very disappointed
I got GoRhino boards and they’re awesome. Would take them over my old Mopars any day of the week.
See how they look after a month and then get back to us
I've had mine on, same ones for a year, look like the day I bought them. Drive gravel roads regularly.
I paid $160 for mine on Amazon…they’re better than the overpriced Mopar ones
Wheel to wheel mopar is $1200 after tax
Sheeeeesh
Sheesh. My truck came with those
Cost on wheel to wheel is $735, $100 for labor. That’s a complete rip at $1200
735USD = 1006CAD
Cant tell a difference and I sell Mopar parts. Ones that look similar to those through Mopar would be $800-1000 ish
Damn, those look actually really good. Mine look like shit by comparison. All black definitely looks cleaner than the half-chrome shit on my truck that gets slick as hell in the winter if you misplace your foot.
Thanks!
Looks good to me! Have the same color truck. Yet to get running boards.
I recommend them, installation did take a few hours but very simple
Link please. My wife keeps complaining about climbing into the truck but I don't want to spend 1200 bucks.
Search on Amazon. COMNOVA 6 Inches Running Boards for 2019-2025 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab New Body Style(Exclude Ram Classic)
thanks!
Thanks much!👍
If someone points out that you did not go with a MOPAR running board then that is a person you don't really need to know.
If you wouldn’t have said anything I’d just have assumed it came with them new.
I have the same ones. Look good 👍🏻 fuck spending high dollar on shit like that
Well said! haha
The look won't be a problem. The performance over 3-4 years will be. I've done this a few times and they always flex and bend and loosen.
I have never in my life looked at someone else’s property and thought, well that’s not OEM. In fact, I’ve never given a single thought to how much money someone spent on any item they have. Is this something you do? Do you walk around judging people for not spending as much money as possible on items?
>Is this something you do? Do you walk around judging people Haha no I don't, not sure why you said that! I'm just asking for opinions on how they look. Just a discussion my friend
Lots of people do, yes. Especially women. And secure men typically don't care about it. There's some evolutionary science to it.
Literally not obvious at all
They look a lot better than the stock chrome ones on my 2020 Big Horn 1500. If they're durable and sturdy enough to support my fat ass over the years, I'd be happy with them. I wouldn't even know what the difference between stock or aftermarket is on these. But I have aphantasia and poor image recall so I can't picture anything I'm not looking at in the moment.

I wouldn’t ever intentionally pay for that, they just happened to come on this one when I bought it used. If I had to purchase them - I’d be going the same route you did!!
Ya the power boards are nice but not for over $2500
Agree! If they ever quit working on me, I’m putting regular nerf bars on!
I prefer my AMP Research power boards ($1,600) they retract when not in use.
They look great regardless. I think we have the exact same truck, down to the wheels and hood! https://preview.redd.it/02xy74g6xj9d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4170a42011cbf3cb5790b94a37eaf02b4157ade2
Nice looking truck!
Who cares? 😂 save some cash as long as they’re functional🤷🏾♂️
Can you post the link to them? Thanks!
[link](https://www.amazon.ca/COMNOVA-Running-2019-2024-Exclude-2019-2023/dp/B0C58XN41Y)
Thanks!
Only jerks will care. You do you boo 😁
I’ve used Amazon running boards on 3 different vehicles. They are fine
i wouldn’t know without the title
I like em man
I have a tube bar running boards who cares what other people think
Looks like my Rough Country running board 👍
As long as they fit well enough for stepping up, go for it.
Looks like the ones I got. Not sure of the brand. They work normally.
I got the same ones, paid about 140-150 on eBay. I like mine for the price, and yeah they may be cheaper but they look just as good as any other running board to me, seem to hold up just fine, had a few big gals jump up in it a few times to verify.
>had a few big gals jump up in it Haha thanks for the laugh, I'm glad they passed the test
Do you like them and are they functional for you? If so, who cares what anyone’s opinion is.
I bought similar running boards for my truck and I'm actually happy that I didn't spend dealer prices.
They look good.
Thanks!
I got my OEMs installed for free when I bought the truck. Long story. If not, would’ve done the same as you. They look good. Btw - most mods are after market anyway.
Looks good to me. The ones my dealer put on mine in 2017 apparently didn’t use mopar either. The rust is coming through and bubbling up the chrome film.
who gives a fuck.. they look good you know it emd of story
Honestly, 95% of people won’t care.
Can’t tell a 80mph
I have open box American truck running boards on my 24 Laramie. Work great
Had the same boards from Amazon and had them for years installed on my 2015 and then one day i notice that i had a clicking noise once in while then more and more. That noise was coming from right front passenger side. I have started to look around in the cab at that side to see what was clicking every time i was going over any little bump annoying. I am still looking to buy a pair very soon for my truck.
They look good to me!
I think they look good dude. Don't stress little shit. As long as you like them its all that matters. I really don't think they look bad at all.
Who cares? They look great. I have the automatic ones on mine and they are a pain in the ass sometimes.
My mopar boards are 10 years old and look like ass, don't feel bad
Haha thanks
If you don't get snow where you're at you'll probably never know the difference. Might want to look into getting them powder coating though if you get salt. I bought a cheaper set and they didn't make it through a winter before getting some rust on the brackets. They look good though.
Good point, I do gets no so we'll see how long they last
How much are Mopar ones?
$900
I did that too. 3 weeks later the black flaked off and they are chrome underneath. Now 3 months later the chrome is rusting through.
Some people get impressed by how much money you spent on something when you could have done the same thing for cheaper. Those people are morons. They look good.
Looks good. Don't worry about it. Now, that white lettering on those tires is another story.
Even though I love buying OEM when I can, buying 3rd party isn't bad whatsoever. That's what makes Trucks so great...the customization. I've never seen a vehicle you can customize so much to your liking.
I wished I had powered running boards for my Durango. My wife can really use them but I don’t need them.
Let us know how they look after a few months. Wonder how they will stand up to a few months of winter driving 🤔
I’ve been looking at probably these exact same ones or a very very very similar edition for my new 2500. Would you recommend? Part of me wanted the power ones but for $2000 it seems silly. Would you buy these again? Thanks.
I have $200 Amazon special running boards, tonneau cover, and bed mat. The only questions I get is where did I get them so they can get some.
If you don't live somewhere where it snows and they salt the roads you'll be fine.
Ehhh those look good! I don’t think anybody knows/cares about if parts on your vehicle are mopar or not. As long as it’s looks good, is legit and does the job it’s suppose to do for you, that’s what matters.
Looks good to me.... It's your truck and as long as you like them, that's all that matters.
Yeah, I bought some cheap Amazon ones, then a few months later I accidentally scraped a concrete pole I didn't see and they folded like a piece of paper and screwed my rocker panel all up. When I got replacements I got some much stronger Go Rhino tube steps.
Who cares as long as it is what you wanted
I intentionally have aftermarket ones bc a) cheaper, and b) they look better imo.
That’s the last thing I’d judge. I had a set from Running Board Warehouse or something like that on my 2013 and they were fantastic for like $190, and I had them on there for probably 7 years or so.
Name brand is junk. Let rich people waste their money.
Can you post the link for the boards / I need to get a set - no drilling just bolt on ?
No drilling at all, the studs are already on the truck to bolt to. On Amazon they are called: COMNOVA 6 Inches Running Boards for 2019-2025 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab New Body Style(Exclude Ram Classic)
just ordered
My last two rams had Amazon running boards. They hold up to my 350lbs no problem
I got a set of Tyger running boards for my 2015 and couldn't be happier! As long as they hold up, they're fine! They look great on that truck!
If they work, you like them, and they look good, who cares?
Good point, I was asking if they look good but maybe worded it wrong
I do like them. Simple and they look tough. As long as they're sturdy.
I’ve got the same ones… they’ve served me well and they look great. I’m happy with my choice and no one is the wiser. I got the ones that have the hex pattern like the mopar ones.
Very
I have the exact same running boards.
Do they still bolt to rivnuts in the thin sheet metal like my 2014 or do they have a more solid mounting point now? My right side oem running board fell off on the highway after years of being supported by that thin metal.
Not rivnits, it's bolt studs welded to the body
That sounds better, on mine the rivnuts first worked loose and I didn’t notice and over time it ripped them out and tore a hole in the metal with it. After the right one fell off I took the left side off and spent a few hours fighting with those rivnuts spinning with the bolts and trying to hold them in place.
No worse than those wheels
Haha what don't you like about the wheels? Do you prefer all black?
I like those. Post a link of where you got them. Mine only has one on the drivers side, I need it on the other side where my wife gets in. Who thought that was a good idea???
Here is a [link](https://www.amazon.ca/COMNOVA-Running-2019-2024-Exclude-2019-2023/dp/B0C58XN41Y. They seem okay, in sure OEM is better quality
Mucho thanks.
I mean, I can tell they aren’t OEM but I don’t think anyone *cares* that they aren’t OEM. I certainly don’t. They look good on the truck and you’re happy, that’s all that matters.
I literally just picked those up last week. They look great!
Just look very grandpa with the whitwalls. Like I picture you have a bunch of chrome trinkets lol
I don't really like the white walls at all ! I should have got the 22-inch wheels I guess. Maybe I can remove the white somehow
Get the tires flipped around
Ya I think I will
Looks good.
Hey I did the same thing there. Spent about $150. They look like yours too. And no one has asked me how much I spent or if they're OEM. In fact they say the running boards look nice, and nicer than the nerf bars I used to have.
They don't look bad, Rough Country has some for $250 that I'm looking into
They will rust out quick. My Amazon boards were rusting after a year. Spray them with a can of spray on bed liner. Works great.
Otherwise they look good.
I paid $140 on Amazon, no one has indicated they give a shit.
I put Oedros on mine and they look great. Your’s look great too.
Literally no one cares dude. You are good to go. Also I have some chrome running boards from a twenty fifteen Laramie I can give you for free. No idea if they will fit a newer truck though.
Entirely obvious to anyone who read the title.
Hey can’t go Wrong for $200
That's what I thought, even if they rust in a few years it was only $200
https://preview.redd.it/2hrhfe8u2m9d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f1fe54da225ddf51a1eb51162884c46faf26fd98
Didn't bother with Mopar brand
Those look nice!
Moose running boards are not that great. $200 anything is usually better, such as in your case.
They look good
They look good. The domino flake blend on the floor looks good too.
I literally just picked up brand new ford running boards today for $100. Facebook marketplace.
Wow good find!
It will be obvious when a heavier person steps in them and they bend
I bought non-mopar, and IDGAF who thinks otherwise, I like them. If you like yours that fuck anyone else.
Do the supports show where they mount near the rockers. That’s the most obvious way to tell. Nice Laramie!
You will be cursed by Mopar Gods!
Looks good!
I really like your wheels.
Thanks , I don't really like the white letters on the tires but I like the wheels too.
It's not obvious until they don't rust and fall off
[удалено]
I have small kids so yes, it helps them climb in
At that price you can replace them every 2 years and be looking like new for 10 years.
Who cares? Your truck
I think you need a new truck. You let the Amazon ones touch it.
Heck I’ve got the mopar boards off of my truck in storage. I’d love to sell them for $200
What's obvious is your running boards look great :)
Who cares anyway, if YOU'RE happy with them? Mine are a similar, and I couldn't give a crap if someone else likes them or not. My dogs use them to get in; mission accomplished. :)
Why pay the dealer price when you can get better deals and more options cheaper on the internet
I don’t think anyone notices step bar brands unless you go high end rock sliders or auto retracting.
I have the same exact running boards on my truck and I have no complaints about them
The real test will be the finish on the boards. They are cheap for a reason..
Love the look!! I’m looking for boards for my new truck in the same range. Mind sharing the link?
Amazon huh. Those look better than the $600 running boards I bought.
Why would you want the mopar boards? Mopar doesn’t make nice things anymore.
I have a '22 Quad Cab.. IMO, unless you're showing the truck (I don't), then who would care?
Looks great to me- would never know- way to save some $
It's a Dodge not a Bentley. Literally no one cares or could spot the difference.
I would say at least 98% of the population doesn't care what brand running boards you have unless they don't work. I think your good.
I bought mine off Amazon also ,couldn't afford the dealer steps
No one pays attention. I bought mine from Americantrucks.com. They were open box and heavily discounted despite being in new condition. Apparently, lots of people return them because they think the bolts don't fit. However, they just didn't realize that the undercoating spray Ram put on the undercarriage clogs the threads. You need to brush the coating off to get the bolts to fit. People's lack of knowledge saved me some money
Do they sit up pretty high? I want ones that are just at the bottom of the cab that don’t hang down low. My Fiancé is short and can’t get in easily but I can’t compromise ground clearance
They don't hang too low, but if you really need the ground clearance maybe you should pay extra for the power boards
Sorry for your loss buying Dodge. But yes you got a good price. Chevy fan roasting you bro, don't get all Dodgy on me. Cheers. If you can't roast your friends who can you roast?
Can you share the link to these?
Sure [link](https://www.amazon.ca/COMNOVA-Running-2019-2024-Exclude-2019-2023/dp/B0C58XN41Y)
I bought the powerstep xl from amp research. There was a local deal that I couldn’t pass up on Memorial Day. 10% off for military families and they paid the taxes. Out the door $2600 with install.
It’s a fucking Ram, even plywood would do.
To my eye, painfully. 🤙🏽😎
I think they look fine but I’m genuinely curious, not hatin… Why not spend the extra on mopar when you spent $60k+ on a brand new truck?
Simple, overpriced and middling durability for the type of boards you get. The best quality mopar boards are the electronic ones with limited lifespan or the TRX ones which are also obscenely overpriced. Opinion sure, but objectively far more expensive than they need to be
Valid points. I guess my rephrased question for him would be why not buy quality boards of any brand vs cheap Amazon ones for a brand new truck? Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
Yeah, buy once, cry once is my philosophy on stuff that I use everyday, but I understand keeping things simple and affordable as it makes fiscal sense
