After getting the corrupted version, is the normal version still available to purchase from the weapons vendor? Or do we have to do a hardcore run again?
No joke the only reason I forced myself through it was right after the first set of corrupted weapons came out I thought to myself “what if they add a corrupted Savior? And what if it’s like the original one?”
It was my understanding that this thing wasn't great. Is it better now? Or was it always good? I've been doing hardcore runs, but after hearing it was bad, I'm losing my motivation to actually keep trying to complete the game on hardcore
As someone who spends too much time obsessing over savior/fusion rifle I'll give you the rundown:
**Remnant 1 fusion rifle:** if you built it for sustained ranged damage it lagged behind Chicago typewriter and the beam rifle, even at max mod charge it's dakka wasn't holding up, but that doesn't matter when the sfx were buttery smooth.
And if you wanted to go for direct mod damage, breath of the desert and skewer were tough competition, say nothing of the original gravity core.
**Remnant 2 savior:** A genuine beast as a weakpoint-slayer, problem is getting it to work requires juggling it's low mag, slow firing rate, timed max damage shots, Mod that contradicts the patient nature of it's firing method with a time limit, and sloooooow reload.
That all sounds bad but this thing has the damage to back itself up, fitting that the hardest weapon to obtain has one of the highest theory crafting skill ceilings as well.
It was rough at release, but got better with some of the newer mutators and rings, especially sequenced shot. It effectively reduced the charge time between shots to zero
This gun has been awesome in every archetype combination I have tried so far. So far my favorites are gunslinger/challenger with QuickDraw for instant reloads and rampage, archon/Ritualist with chaos gate and miasma and ahanae crystal etc to ramp up the mod damage (that thing was slapping aberrations for over 12k on apoc!) and I really like it with handler/explorer as an all around utility weapon. I can’t wait to unlock the others.
Now we just gotta crank up some other difficulty weapons. Worlds edge is already busted but wouldn’t mind a version the does two vertical slashes instead of the wide sweep.
first of all, i think this weapon is bugged, since the modpower doesnt drain when you stop shooting. 2nd, with this bug that thing is a powerhouse. incredible fire rate, amazing weak spot dmg, and despite my suboptimal aim, i tend to even hit the smallest weakspots. its like its homing on weakspots. this weapon is busted rn.
I absolutely love this new version of the gun i just wish that the mod had a bigger hit box because it is incredibly easy to miss shots with it as it is
If only I can get the damned gun. While I have beaten the game several times…I can’t ever clear a hardcore run. On veteran difficulty no less, it really tears me up
Quick Q: Does the mod count as explosive at all? Plotting builds for after work
Unfortunately detonation trigger doesn’t cause burn after mod use so it doesn’t seem to be an explosive

I didn't receive the weapon after completing Veteran -.- I'm one of the lucky ones who had this bug.

Did you have the self bleed ring on? The 'damage' you do to yourself actually resets the drain timer on the gun.
