I only had that for the first time yesterday. I've never seen it before. I'm east coast, so it may have just made it's way here recently, assuming it may have been regional
Fun fact Hot Pockets are made by the same parent company as Purina, so it might qualify closer as Purina People Chow. They are both owned by Nestle so you can say that about a lot of products. Gerber baby foods would be Purina Baby Chow.
They stopped carrying this flavor at my local places so I started ordering cases from Amazon. I like to mix it with the creamy chicken, one of each. So good!
Absolutely. With an excess of vigour one might add some real lime juice, a little garlic, general Gao seasoning. Occasionally, mix in a second packet of the regular shrimp …………. Maybe brown some of them frozen prawns ……….. ohaughhhhhhhhhhhh babey
If you're alright with a different brand, Koka is a Singaporean brand that still does tomato. I bought an entire box of like 30 from Amazon a few years ago because they were my favourite. Can't have them anymore because they contain milk powder, but Amazon keeps asking me if I'm interested in buying them again, so I know they're still on there. I still really like their curry flavour.
No, you’re correct. See, we used to use the word oriental to generalize asians, but now we just use asian to generalize asians. Anyway, that’s a beautiful soy sauce rug you’ve got.
Yeah, that's why they changed the name. I'm also convinced they used it as an excuse to change the flavor itself, as I swear it used to taste a lot different before the name change.
IIRC it's the only vegan one as well.
I'm allergic to dairy and dairy derivatives, so I know for 100% it doesn't have Lactose, which is in the rest of the flavors of seasoning packets.
You should stop consuming dairy and see a doctor. Feeling like your heart is fluttering after consuming something is a good indicator that you could have an anaphylactic reaction to it.
Oh wow I could’ve sworn it was vegan but I googled it and you’re definitely right. I usually check the ingredients too. Maybe it used to be? Or I thought it was maruchan when it was actually top ramen soy sauce flavor that was vegan.
I highly recommend Maruchan Gold, if one of your local grocery stores carry it. They're more expensive, about $2/pack, but I think they're worth it. It's a higher quality noodle and they include a wet packet. The Spicy Miso is my favorite variety, although the basic Soy Sauce is also an excellent option.
Same here.
Recently I've started buying frozen dumplings at the store that are made to be added to a soup, and just dropping those in for the last few minutes. Very tasty
Highschool me thought making shrimp ramen and then cooling it down by putting frozen salad shrimp in it was a culinary genius. One of my favorite after-school snacks.
Not me because I don’t like shellfish, but the lime chili shrimp is my entire family’s favorite. In general I think is most people’s favorite in Mexico
All my life lime chili shrimp/chicken with lemon juice and tapatio was The Ramen for everyone I knew; now I just feel extra super Mexican. Why did no one tell me? 😅
The poor motherfucker's tonkotsu ramen. Pork is my go-to, too, and I'm always mad that I gotta buy it in singles when Wal-Mart has Beef and Chicken in the big 12-packs.
Surprised this is so underrated on this list really. It is an OG flavor that has stood the test of time. If offered pork, at a friends house I will gladly accept.
I am quite partial to roast chicken and mushroom flavor. (Oriental was the SHIT)
They had supply chain issues during covid and some other brands didnt. Many grocers switched to brands like top ramen (which had fewer issues) or cut back on their orders to just the staples like beef and chicken which maruchan prioritized during the pandemic.
These are all the currently produced flavors. If anyone trying to find mushroom youre out of luck. But there is a new(ish) chili lime with shrimp.
When I was a kid my grandma would give my mom boxes and boxes of just creamy chicken and it got where my siblings and I would associate creamy chicken with old people food lol. But it is one of my faves now.
> my grandma would give my mom boxes and boxes of just creamy chicken
One day you'll find a dusty old box in the attic and inside will be proof of how your grandma donned a mask by night and robbed truck convoys carrying creamy chicken to stores.
I love creamy chicken with egg mixed in🥚🍜
Before you turn off the heat, crack an egg to the noodles, mix it around, simmer for about a minute and you now have a hearty and creamier chicken noodle soup!
Oh man gonna have to try that. My go to has always been a slice of American cheese but that’s up next. Literally bought six packs at the store yesterday lol
I started adding lemon juice and pea pods to my chicken ramen - amazing!
A favorite comfort food I love ramen with some crisp bacon, scrambled egg and green onion. So good.
I use to know a guy who mixed one of those Philadelphia single serve cream cheese packets into his chicken maruchan cup. It was in high school and it made everyone feel nauseous but now I wonder if he was a food genius 🤣
I keep creamy chicken on hand to make lazy tuna casserole.
Tuna, frozen sweet peas, crushed creamy chicken ramen plus its seasoning packet, thyme, and garlic powder, cooked with just enough water to hydrate the noodles. Finish with shredded cheddar (and preferably a little sodium citrate so the cheese emulsifies into the sauce).
It's tasty, quite filling, quick to make, one pot meal, and inexpensive. Not exactly the healthiest, but there are worse meals out there.
I wish anywhere around me stocked the mushroom flavor, I would buy it exclusively. I also really like the pork flavor, I only see it once a blue moon and end up having to buy 40 packets like a crazy person just to have it in the house for a while.
Tasted like mushrooms a little
If you've ever had dried shiitake or porcini it was kind of like that. Not overwhelmingly mushroom-y, but a bit of that earthy umami.
Is this an ad?
I'm sitting here thinking about going out and buying every flavor I can find tomorrow. It's not an ad right? They wouldn't go this far to make like $1.50 right?
Edit: no, the noodles to not cost $1.50 each. The joke is that you could buy each flavor for that much (unfortunately they actually cost around 50 cents each now).
Hot and spicy chicken is my favorite Maruchan flavor. It is not listed here. I've only seen it in cups.
Overall favorite is without a doubt Indomie Mi Goreng. All flavors are amazing.
And Nissin's hot and spicy chicken gets an honorable mention. Those are quite good.
I just grate a pile of cheddar cheese on my noods. Crush the Ramen in the packet to break it up a little and pour into a microwave safe bowl. Add water to just below the top of the noodles. Lightly cover. Cook 90 seconds, stir, repeat. Add one half of the spice packet and a handful of shredded cheese. Stir completely and garnish as you please.
Creamy chicken ramen!!
Saute some jarred/canned mushrooms with the flavor packet and some extra garlic. Pick another vetegable of choice and throw it in (water chestnuts, broccoli, etc.).
Crush up the ramen a bit, throw it in, and add some water. Cook it down, and add a sprinkle of cheddar and a splash of milk once it melts, or add sesame seeds and cook an egg to put on top 👩🍳
Picante chicken. My mom bought it for me by the caseload when I was away at college. I survived on that shit for two years in the dorms.
Same here, surprised this one isn’t higher up on the list. It’s pretty fire
I only had that for the first time yesterday. I've never seen it before. I'm east coast, so it may have just made it's way here recently, assuming it may have been regional
We used to call any flavor of Ramen, 'Purina Student Chow' for a reason.
So good!
Chili flavor always.
Chili gang rise up
With lemon juice added 😋
Lime juice for me
Yes and yes
Chili fam let's go 🔥🔥
God I’m almost 30 and still crush these up and eat them dry.. so god damn good.
Soy Sauce flavor except I add scallions, fried egg, crunchy garlic oil, and a touch of molasses.
Lime chili all day
This is the way
Absolutely. With an excess of vigour one might add some real lime juice, a little garlic, general Gao seasoning. Occasionally, mix in a second packet of the regular shrimp …………. Maybe brown some of them frozen prawns ……….. ohaughhhhhhhhhhhh babey
I remember years ago when I was a kid they had tomato ramen. I wish they would bring it back :(
Tomato ramen was the best!!
If you use knorr tomato bouillon it's a pretty good substitute. I miss it too!
They also had a curry flavor that was incredible. They discontinued it shortly after I discovered and fell in love with it...
Original chicken and beef always hit the spot. I’ll add jalapeño slices and thin sliced deli Turkey or roast beef for random textures and protein
Love hitting random textures when chowing down on noods
Oriental
They changed oriental to soy sauce flavor
It will always still be oriental to me
Hello my fellow old. Was looking for that one. The only true flavors for this brand are beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, and oriental.
I was literally like “well that’s blue, but blue used to be oriental???”
I wanna assume it's because Oriental is slightly derogatory in America, but I feel like its something dumb instead
No, you’re correct. See, we used to use the word oriental to generalize asians, but now we just use asian to generalize asians. Anyway, that’s a beautiful soy sauce rug you’ve got.
lol wtf hahaha
Yeah, that's why they changed the name. I'm also convinced they used it as an excuse to change the flavor itself, as I swear it used to taste a lot different before the name change.
If I remember correctly, you're mostly correct. They determined it was insensitive and wanted it to be more clear that it's soy sauce flavored.
As a kid it always felt like the mystery flavor lol
I will always be oriental to my father in law
Wow maruchan went woke /s
Appropriateness aside, "oriental ramen" is redundant and tells you nothing about what it tastes like.
It tells you it tastes blue
its pretty much the only ramen flavor I'm not allergic to so, that one
Confined to it because it’s the only vegetarian one, so that one for me too Edit: whoops not vegetarian, thanks guys
IIRC it's the only vegan one as well. I'm allergic to dairy and dairy derivatives, so I know for 100% it doesn't have Lactose, which is in the rest of the flavors of seasoning packets.
It is not vegan. I just found out myself. I have eaten hundreds of these without knowing. It has beef extract.
Top Ramen soy sauce flavor is vegan!
Can I ask what's the reaction you get when you consume dairy? I'm developing heart palpitations from consuming diary.
You should stop consuming dairy and see a doctor. Feeling like your heart is fluttering after consuming something is a good indicator that you could have an anaphylactic reaction to it.
All the Maruchan ones have animals in them, but the Nissin brand Chili & Soy Sauce ones are vegan
Oh wow I could’ve sworn it was vegan but I googled it and you’re definitely right. I usually check the ingredients too. Maybe it used to be? Or I thought it was maruchan when it was actually top ramen soy sauce flavor that was vegan.
Oriental was the best! I’ll always miss The little oil packet
It’s sesame oil u can buy it at any grocery store
I want the LITTLE ONE
I highly recommend Maruchan Gold, if one of your local grocery stores carry it. They're more expensive, about $2/pack, but I think they're worth it. It's a higher quality noodle and they include a wet packet. The Spicy Miso is my favorite variety, although the basic Soy Sauce is also an excellent option.
Ohhh you just made me remember they made sesame chicken for ages. So good. Now I splash my own sesame oil on chicken ones
Beef flavor and some soft boiled eggs
I crack my eggs right into the pot and let them poach a little bit
That way is just as good 👍🏼
Same here. Recently I've started buying frozen dumplings at the store that are made to be added to a soup, and just dropping those in for the last few minutes. Very tasty
Roast beef + chili is fire.
ROAST CHICKEN FOREVER!!! ANY OTHER FLAVOR IS INFERIOR AND I WILL FIGHT YOU OVER IT!!!
How does it taste different from regular chicken? I've looked for it before but never found it to try.
It tastes roasted. Duh
Boom roasted!
It's a robust chicken flavor vs a bland standa4d chicken. I hate chicken flavor but like toasted
They grill the little chicken bullion package.
Goddamn right!
Creamy chicken 🐔

Wow nobody said shrimp yet
Highschool me thought making shrimp ramen and then cooling it down by putting frozen salad shrimp in it was a culinary genius. One of my favorite after-school snacks.

Shrimp gang rise up
We out here
There's dozens of us!
chile shrimp is my jam!
Shrimp gang! But spicy shrimp for me
Shrimp gang LIME CHILI f me never tried that one
Hands down my favorite flavor
it's dope
Shrimp Lime Chili is a godly flavor. A definite recommend.
We are the fanciest!
Shrimp gang 🦐🦐
I like to add those tiny little scrimps you get in fried rice.
I’m a lime chili shrimp man. That shit hits so hard.
Team shrimp!
Shrimp gang
Pork, always.
The poor motherfucker's tonkotsu ramen. Pork is my go-to, too, and I'm always mad that I gotta buy it in singles when Wal-Mart has Beef and Chicken in the big 12-packs.
Pork + Chili = 🔥
I thought I invented this
I've legit never even seen pork flavor, and I am envious.
Buy by the case on Amazon! Pork is the superior flavor!
Pork gang.
The best of the best.
Surprised this is so underrated on this list really. It is an OG flavor that has stood the test of time. If offered pork, at a friends house I will gladly accept. I am quite partial to roast chicken and mushroom flavor. (Oriental was the SHIT)
If you don’t eat creamy chicken, f you
Roast is pretty dank too
Put a little butter in the roast and you get a really good creamy roasted chicken.
It’s my favorite but for some reason I can never find it anymore! Regular chicken just ain’t the same.
They had supply chain issues during covid and some other brands didnt. Many grocers switched to brands like top ramen (which had fewer issues) or cut back on their orders to just the staples like beef and chicken which maruchan prioritized during the pandemic. I loved the mushroom one. RIP.
I came here to say ... THERES A MUSHROOM ONE!?
There was a chicken mushroom one too, I loved it. Wish they'd bring it back.
Chicken mushroom was the goat these people don’t even know
Rest in peace, precious mushroom. Too good for this salty world.
You can get the creamy chicken on [Amazon](https://a.co/d/4eHScPL) rn for ~30cents a packet! :)
Omg I’ve never had. Is it that different from just the chicken?
It’s a little creamier
I'm sold
You son of a bitch- I'm in!
You don’t say
When I was a kid my grandma would give my mom boxes and boxes of just creamy chicken and it got where my siblings and I would associate creamy chicken with old people food lol. But it is one of my faves now.

THE best!
And it's only 110% of your daily sodium intake!!
Exactly why I don't eat them anymore. I miss the hell out of them though!
Add scallions and Asiago cheese. And a good shake of red pepper flakes.
Use not enough water, (I boil it in plenty, then drain off a bunch) then add black pepper, basil, and a little sesame oil.
Follow this, then throw it in a hot wok with some sesame oil, hoisin sauce a few veggies and flank steak strips…perfect…
I like to add chopped up chives to ramen.
I add chili garlic crunch oil and pickled jalapeños
You've either been to prison or you're a broke college kid 😂 this is the go to recipe for both 😝
Good chili Garlic crunch oil is over $10/jar
Yeah but that shit will last a long time. Totally worth it even if you are putting it on .25 ramen.
Creamy chicken with a dash of S&B curry powder is the absolute best.
I grew up on creamy chicken with lemon juice
I started adding lemon juice and pea pods to my chicken ramen - amazing! A favorite comfort food I love ramen with some crisp bacon, scrambled egg and green onion. So good.
Dayum son!
I use to know a guy who mixed one of those Philadelphia single serve cream cheese packets into his chicken maruchan cup. It was in high school and it made everyone feel nauseous but now I wonder if he was a food genius 🤣
No, but his dad was probably fresh out of Prison.
I remember adding a spoonful of sour cream if I just had the plain chicken flavor to make it creamy.
Used to mix the creamy chicken and a mushroom for a little variety
If you don’t chew big red then f you
I keep creamy chicken on hand to make lazy tuna casserole. You haven't lived until you mix a creamy chicken ramen with a box of kraft thick & creamy mac n' cheese.

Creamy chicken made with milk, cheese, hard boiled egg, and shredded chicken. Yeasssss.
Keep your milk away from my noodles

Tasted like mushrooms a little If you've ever had dried shiitake or porcini it was kind of like that. Not overwhelmingly mushroom-y, but a bit of that earthy umami.
Never had the mushroom flavor by itself, but it was pretty good mixed with creamy chicken. I haven't seen it for over 20 years now though.
mushroom flavor was discontinued, I miss it so much(mush)
Mushroom flavor was discontinued
This is so messed up
[удалено]
This is not high enough.
For real!! This is definitely my top flavor. I can’t believe I had to scroll so far!
Shrimp idc idc idc!!!
Regular chicken for the win
Took me too long to find this, people sleeping on regular chicken fr
The only flavor that exists as far as I’m concerned.
Way better than creamy and roasted
Yes!!! The creamy chicken tastes…off
I thought that when I bought it recently. I feel like they changed something bc I used to love it
YES
Never even seen most of the others. Chicken, beef, sometimes shrimp, and used to see the oriental. But only eat the chicken.
I’m regular chicken gang 4 life!
Is this an ad? I'm sitting here thinking about going out and buying every flavor I can find tomorrow. It's not an ad right? They wouldn't go this far to make like $1.50 right? Creamy Chicken is fire
Shrimp smells awful but tastes amazing.
I don't see Cheddar Cheese in there.
Why am I only hearing of this now?
Definitely try it once, but it's like really bad instant macaroni and cheese 😅
Yeah its like Mush-a-roni and cheese. Not terrible though!
Combining Soy Sauce x Chili is one of my favs.
Mushroom. The absolute best. They don't sell them in my country anymore, they haven't for years. I miss it.
discountinued everywhere
Mushroom Gang assemble! To mourn
Mushroom was my very favorite too 🙁
PICANTE I MISS YOU
Where the Picante Beef!
"Oh that's my favorite. Get me picante beef, bitch boy."
Chili ramen is what we used to make some fire spreads in jail. So that one
Beef, pork, and oriental
#Always ....*Creamy Chicken*
Best is chicken with Sriracha Myao mixed in and fried egg on top. For bare minimum effort picante chicken is best
The shrimp flavor is something else
Three chicken flavors wtf is the difference between them?
Four
Also curious specifically about the difference between chicken and roast chicken
Probably more carbon flavors in the “roast” version.
Hear me out. Mix Chili and Beef. Perfection.
Creamy chicken -- and I swear they changed the recipe 😔
Creamy chicken ramen!! Saute some jarred/canned mushrooms with the flavor packet and some extra garlic. Pick another vetegable of choice and throw it in (water chestnuts, broccoli, etc.). Chili
Lime chili shrimp
Roast Chicken and Beef Speaking of ramen, Top Ramen beef bowl with the savory sauce packet makes me act up all sorts of ways
1-12. Thank you.
Creamy chicken + soy is an amazing combo.
When I was growing up in the 90s they had a to.ato flavor and I miss it.
It’s weird but I’ve always loved the mushroom one.
