We had subway last week, and I was saying the exact same thing. It's probably been five years since I had a subway sandwich, so it's nice to see I'm not the only one whose confused but not surprised.
Got subway recently and the girl behind the counter said, "please don't tip, those just go to the owner's bank account." I tild her thats definitely something to look into as Im like 90% sure thats illegal to do.
I asked in the subway subreddit if the owner keeping 25% of their tips is legal. I was downvoted to hell. Someone I know said if they get a cash tip, they have to break the bill so 25% is put in the register.
Love when the pick up window for pizza asks for a tip.
Like bruh, I’m paying you for the pizza and I’m picking it up. There is no convenience here for which you should be tipped.

Little Caesars asks you for a tip when you place your pickup order online. At no point do you even talk to a person! You retrieve your pizza from a machine in the lobby!
Bro I got asked for a tip with the whole “the screen will ask you a couple of questions” when I walked into a wine store and bought a bottle. The service was me going “I’d like that bottle” and them handing it to me. That’s it.
Went and got a combo footlong not too long ago and it was like 20 bucks. I know there’s a bunch of franchises and a lot of these are in like truck stops, but I don’t see this brand lasting for that much longer. It’s always super dead inside, even at lunch time. And I feel like I see a lot of them closing with some frequency
First they started giving half the amount of meat. Second they started giving half amount of toppings. Finally, they made the bread thinner to make it technically a footlong.
Roark Capital is the culprit.
They own subway, Carl's jr/Hardee's, buffalo wild wings, Arby's, Sonic, Dunkin, and several others. All some of the worst offenders of enshittification.
Oh yeah. Worse and worse quality for higher prices. Our local Arby's closed, and good fucking riddance. One slice of deli meat on a sandwich, gfy
Subway has zero flavor
Omg, B-Dubs is straight garbage now. They have like 2 people working in the entire restaurant. Their food has definitely gone downhill, and the prices for wings are just absurd.
That's a sub? I thought it was a wrap.
Looks like the bread was not cooked all the way through or they did not proof it properly. Either way that is not worth it.
Undersized bread happens if the dough wasn't thawed properly before proofing. That's my guess to what happened. The supervisor should of thrown out the mistake
I finally gave up completely on Subway with their most recent menu change. Had been exceedingly unhappy with them since they dropped five dollar footlong. Not paying $18 for shitty sub. I will go to elsewhere.
I’m not normally a sub fan but when I do go i usually vote for subway since their breads have some nice tasty options. I don’t mind the bread being less as I really can’t eat a lot of bread either. Subway like ANY sub place has always been skimpy with toppings-another reason im not a sub guy….love my meats n cheeses lol. If they want to shrink or hollow out the bread…have at it-us fat Americans don’t need the worthless carbs anyway
Please just stop giving this horrible company your money. I stopped going after the Italian BMT was moved to some exclusive menu and they justified a $7 price increase for it.
A manager i had when I worked at a subway got mad at me for putting too many olives on a sandwich. She told me that unless they asked for extra I was to place 8 olives on a foot long sub.
I recognise that the manager of this particular subway was a soulless monster and I’m sure there are better managers. Still saw that kind of attitude in all the subway things.

Not to mention the price. I am not paying 12 dollars for a fucking sandwich that’s not even good anymore
Use code flbogo it's good for one more week. Buy one get one free
It's basically a hot dog bun now.
Subways! Eat ~~fresh~~ **less**!
Pay twice as much
$20 *"foot"*\* longs ^^*Child's ^^\(toddler) ^^foot
I haven't had Subway since i was asked to tip.

The girl behind the counter deserves a $20 bill for that.
Yeah the people at my subway (OH) say the same thing it’s sad. Not just subway around here either

I think it depends on the state.
even at yogurtland they have those 🤦♀️ i’m making the yogurt myself why would I tip them hahaha

I agree, it's absurd

meatbag elitists, robots deserve tips too

Sub (standard) Way (too small)

Get the App,they have Bogo
That's the only time that I bother going.

I thought Arby's had the meat?
Yes, they say in their slogan "We have the meats" not "You'll get a good amount of meats"
Those mfers

Name and shame these assholes

that breads technically not bread!
But now a whole foot long is only 375 calories!
And doubled in price compared to 2007
I got it yesterday, had to pay extra for “double” meat when that was how big the servers were a few years ago
This actually looks decent compared to some bs I’ve gotten lately. Sad I know
Hopefully, you'll continue to not have it for a few more years after this.
$18 please
its smaller and not so tasty
I finally gave up completely on Subway with their most recent menu change. Had been exceedingly unhappy with them since they dropped five dollar footlong. Not paying $18 for shitty sub. I will go to elsewhere.
No Subway for me anymore. Most other options are far superior.
Remember the uproar there was when it was discovered that they were screwing us out of cheese, by using triangles?

Couple more mm’s and it’s a wrap

I never had one before seeing this I would feel so betrayed
Ask for extra lettece and you'll get less
Might be smaller, but they make up for that by charging more.🙃 just say' n.

Don't get me started. Change the salad, double the price. Want the old toppings, double the price... a meal that was £25 for 5 became £60, overnight
Covid inflation
Inside looks about the same but that bread looks way skinny.
For the price of subway. You can make weeks worth of footlongs at home with more filling.
Probably a good thing their bread is full of sugar
Heck, if it's been years, the sandwich probably isn't smaller. You're just bigger. /s
I actually like it. Less bread, more meat, cheese and veggies. Potbelly near me me does the opposite: giant bread buns and almost no meat inside. 😂
I don't like big airy bread either. But it looks so small now.
Honestly I kind like the smaller bread. It used to be so much airy bread, it was all you could taste
As someone who avoids subways because I’m not a fan of chunky bread i see this a win
Could be because you hold your sandwiches like a dynamometer 🤷♂️🤣
didn’t know there was a specific way to hold sandwiches. no matter how you put it all the ingredients are smaller
It’s a joke bud, calm down. Just saying man it looks like you’re gripping that thang. 🤣
