If you have tools, you can get a hole saw and make perfect holes. Looks like my first box too lol, if you want to try and save it, get some big PVC fittings and stick em in the holes and duct tape them
Use drill in reverse if you do this, less likely to crack the plastic. Submerging the tub in warm water prior to cutting will also help to reduce its brittleness.
I seen someone use the glass lids from saucepans/pots, aslong as the undersides metal heat it up on the top of the cooker the just press down, perfect hole
I wasn’t clownin on you. It should still work for a SAB. Just remember to keep it clean as possible inside; slow, controlled movements while working inside it to minimize any contaminants moving around. It def will cut down on the possibility of contamination
Air's not an issue. Main thing is to stop air _movement_, especially the chance of airborne spores falling from above into your bags or jars. In that sense, it's fine.
I used a hole saw, and the same thing still usually happens to me. I never thought of melting a hole into it, and I'm a few grows in.
Don't worry man. Plastic is cheap
C'mon bro. Call it a $12 loss and get another one from walmart or target. Carefully mark the position and size of the holes for comfort after you set it on your worktable and imagine how your arms will be entering and working. Make the holes just large enough to fit through but not too large to restrict unwanted airflow. A heated can will push right through and save you the trouble of drilling and sanding.
This hobby is all about being meticulous and trial and error is ok in the beginning. Still air box work will be the foundation of successful sterile inoculations and transfers which are essential for success.
Start your journey meticulously and on the right path. Best of luck
Get some plastic sheet and duct tape. Tape around and and make hold that fit a hand. The top will work well with that. In the future, all that isn't necessary. Just flip the container upside down and let it hang a few inches over a table. You don't need holes in it.
Yeah, Makeshift will be fine, tape the holes up and cut two X in the tape.
But as soon as you can, you should get your butt back to the store, buy another one, and either use a: Hole-saw(in REVERSE), or the hot can method.
Heat up a butter knife an cut a hole out. What the fuck is this 🤣
Demolition tek.
Otherwise known as Kyle tek.
Knife no heat 🤦🏾♂️
Did you punch holes in it?
I tried using a knife
Yeah, did the same thing, but didnt do that much damage. Chuck it out, buy a new one
I just turn mine on its side with the opening facing me. Keeps contam from falling on what I'm working on.
Next time just take a coffee can or something and heat it up with a torch and just melt holes into it.
Oh shit way smarter lol
It worked great for me!
Same. I put a coffee can on my electric burner to get it hot and it pushed right through.
If you have tools, you can get a hole saw and make perfect holes. Looks like my first box too lol, if you want to try and save it, get some big PVC fittings and stick em in the holes and duct tape them
Hot can works better as you don't have to deburr the holes after melting them.
Use drill in reverse if you do this, less likely to crack the plastic. Submerging the tub in warm water prior to cutting will also help to reduce its brittleness.
Good tip I'm gonna try that
I seen someone use the glass lids from saucepans/pots, aslong as the undersides metal heat it up on the top of the cooker the just press down, perfect hole
I came here thinking this was a joke or troll post.. touché. Lol
No bro im really a beginner lol

yeah i thought there was a mycojerk sub or something 😅
When everyone keeps telling you, you need more FAE.
The box looks like it’ll work fine
More like when ppl upload their tubs asking if they should start FAE now while having the lid all the way off
Lol holy fuck
Looks like you got frustrated and just Mike Tysoned that sucker.
We need a shitpost sub specifically for grow box dys
Mine wasn’t much better and I didn’t get any contam, but doesn’t prove it worked.
Air should be still enough right?🤷🏾♂️

All these comments are so funny lmao I’m sorry guys 😭😂😂
Please let this become a meme here. Also, definitely use heat next time, bro. Torch lighters work wonders.
What in all that is mushroom is that, did somebody loose their temper with the box or just smash holes init with a sledgehammer
Good one 🤣
Tell us your rough . Without telling us
Aw hell nah
That’ll do. A couple times around with cling wrap to tighten up your arm portholes.
Did you run it over or did you find it like that?
Yeah, it might scratch your arms up, but should still work. They really don't have to be fancy.
Learn how to make a no cut SAB with Saran Wrap.
Bro😭😭

When using a hole saw, run it in reverse, it will melt right through.
"Put it in reverse, Terry!"
Indeed.
Use a drill next time. Or heat a knife and poke the plastic.

We’ll call me homeless cause I used it

Well said
I did this with my dick when I was drunk once
You're really fueling the Final Fantasy franchise.
Glad somebody noticed. Love Jrpgs have since I was 8
Drunk Ninja Tek 🥷🏽 Next time you can heat a metal can and melt perfect holes out
I think you have some anger issues to work out. Punching holes in things isn't the answer.
😭😭😂😂😂
Wow the first sab I've seen worse than my own 🤣❤
Enjoy brother
And you too ❤
Did the Kool Aid guy make it?
What is a still air box??
Bro did you stomp holes into it 😭
Yes
Haha. Yes.
🤣
Tape holes on both sides shut with big pieces of tape. Cut an x just big enough for you areas to slide through each hole.

🤣🤣🤣🤣
Biscuit cutter heated up works slick.
The hell happened 😭
Pro tip: once you have the holes, cover each side with duck tape, and cut an x for your arms to go through.
Try heating up either knife or metal tin to get hole :) not brass knuckles young ninja 🥷
Did you use your kids hulk gloves? Tek SMASH
Who won the fight at the end?
Sterilize tub tbh 🤦🏾♂️
Put micropore tape on the holes.
Yeah, Makeshift will be fine, tape the holes up and cut two X in the tape. But as soon as you can, you should get your butt back to the store, buy another one, and either use a: Hole-saw(in REVERSE), or the hot can method.
Just tape up the holes to be smaller and you’ll be good
I suggest an electric hot knife for your holes in the future! That way you don't Wreck it Ralph that mf
HAHAHAHAH
🤌
I think it’s got a scratch on it.
Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha no
first time i ever genuinely laughed out loud at a reddit post. Edit: I looked through the comments and realized it wasn't a joke so now I feel bad
Mine also looks like that hahahah i dont use it anymore
Don’t use it cause you don’t need it or don’t use it cause it doesn’t work LOL
It worked but i put clear tape in the holes so they are smaller. i build something else into my shelf so i dont need it anymore
Did you bite to make the holes ?
