Pickpocket either ralof or hadvar in the dungeon, putting the crown in their inventory. Tullius or ulfric will still accept, and when you meet ralof or hadvar later in the story you can pickpocket it back from them, permanently keeping the crown. Enjoy :)
Also using a paralyze potion or unrelenting force will help the pickpocket chance, even if it says 0% chance. Id save before trying though. They go to riverwood after the mission and go to the inn
Same boat on my last/current playthrough. I just quit the Civil War storyline altogether to keep the crown. Also you can wear any enchantable circlet underneath it so you don't have to give up enchanting slots (especially helpful once you get dual enchantments).
Nope, it's marked as a quest item. That's why it's fortunate that you can enchant and wear a circlet stacked underneath it, so you don't have to lose enchantment slots to wear the jagged crown. To keep it straight in my inventory when I enchanted the circlet I was going to use with it I renamed it "Jagged Circlet" so they'd be right there together on the menu.
I don't believe you can duplicate it because as it's marked as a quest item it can't be removed from your inventory except by said quest. That's been my experience at least (playing on console).
I enchanted mine yesterday. Maybe I wasnāt supposed to be able to and I got some weird lucky glitch that cleared it from being a quest item, but I definitely enchanted mine.
To add to this, I believe it gets marked as stolen when you take it back. To remove the "Stolen" tag, throw it in a random, unowned container and command a follower to pick it up. The Stolen status will be removed.
Nice, might try that on my next playthrough because I always loved that crown and I thought the DB should have it in terms of rights and lore.
I usually hate head armor because it hides the face or hair I spent a lot of time on but this crown is an exception
The dragonborn should have had a chance to lay claim to the throne, who's going to stop you. No nord would question the dragonborn, you have the support of multiple jarls, you saved the world three times, and if anyone wants to stop you (looking at you high elves) there are dragons who's allegiance is yours.
My main head canon is the dragonborn works with the empire to get the Thalmor off their metaphorical throat. So between the strength of the dragonborn the companions, and many dragons they clear out Thalmor forces and rip the crown and the throne away from the Thalmor (the stormcloaks aren't much better than the Thalmor and they are based in Skyrim so I sided with the empire). Personally I wish there was a way to unite Skyrim against the Thalmor but nope.
I mean logically the empire doesn't like the Thalmor controlling them so it's very likely they would counter attack and who better to lead the charge than the dragonborn.
bruh who cares if they wouldnt accept one in lore. the lore has a canon dragonborn for a reason. devs shouldn't base EVERY SINGLE DECISION upon following lore or we'd simply never get any games cause lore is fucking insane šš
If your on xbox/ps you can jus use the directional pad on the favorited item to set a hotkey then you use that same button to unequip/reequip said helmet or whatever else you have binded
There's at least one mod, maybe only for pc, though I'm not sure, that makes your helm invisible. All the benefits, but you see your sexy characters face.
not at all. not for me at least. I've been using "moveto.player" for followers and "setstage" for fixing glitched out quests for years and I never had a problem. Some stuff will break your game though like timescale or stuff like that
Hasn't been true in my case. I create outfit items in console and dress up random NPCs to my liking with Outfit Changer SSE (I think that's its name, anyway) all the time.
I sure hope not I use it often just to fix stuff. Just had to disable/enable Lucien cause I fucked him up with SPID and made a monster. I sorted the problem, though. No need to worry.
You can totally keep it. Paralyse and reverse pickpocket your faction buddy in the room where you get it, then paralyse and pickpocket your buddy at the bar later.
There is a replica mod where you can make one of your own, one in light armor and the other heavy, it also has the ability to count for those full armor perk points when worn with other armors which is a really nice addition, I cannot remember the name of the mod though since the last crash took all my mods and still rebuilding.

My last play through I kept the crown, keeping Skyrim plunged in an eternal civil war. Which was exactly what my Argonian master of the thieves guild/mafia wanted mwahahaha!
I don't know how you did it, but your character actually looks decent. She looks like a normal human being instead of whatever I or people who make ''How to make good looking characters in Skyrim'' videos usually come up with. Great job!
I donāt even like the empire. I think theyāre both idiots. Yes, the empire should be independent of Thalmor influence, but Skyrim should also be independent of Empire rule. Itās why I hate the war so much, both sides are assholes in their own way and it makes me side with neither of them.
That said Ulfric is also just unlikable for me. Egotistical and spoiled.
Thereās a mod called dovah strunmah holl that adds a player home on top of the throat of the world and on one of the shelves is an extra copy of the helm that isnāt marked as a quest item and the house is pretty dope as well

Jezuz :D I wonder who came up with this idea and how. Thanks! Will try that.
Also using a paralyze potion or unrelenting force will help the pickpocket chance, even if it says 0% chance. Id save before trying though. They go to riverwood after the mission and go to the inn
I didn't know about paralyze! Luckily I've got a fresh batch of potions š
If you don't have the magic, just go to the serpent stone.
When you follow Ralof but join the Imperials and thereās no way you couldāve known that decision would prevent you from keeping the crownš”

Can you enchant the crown?

I tried adding a copy too, and this one can be enchanted. I'll save it for later so it's more powerful.
That's exactly what I'm gonna do - still working on my enchanting now! I got the crown tho š
You can dublicate it with a manquin, the copy cannot be upgraded by smithing but can be enchanted.
At least thats what I understand from resding wiki.
I don't believe you can duplicate it because as it's marked as a quest item it can't be removed from your inventory except by said quest. That's been my experience at least (playing on console).
Wait, you can stack circles and helms?
A few helms will work with circlets, the only two I can think of off the top of my head is the Jagged Crown and the Falmer helm.
I enchanted mine yesterday. Maybe I wasnāt supposed to be able to and I got some weird lucky glitch that cleared it from being a quest item, but I definitely enchanted mine.
Oof, thatās real unfortunate. Never knew that would happen, mostly because I never bother to try. Makes sense but still not fun
To add to this, I believe it gets marked as stolen when you take it back. To remove the "Stolen" tag, throw it in a random, unowned container and command a follower to pick it up. The Stolen status will be removed.
You son of aā¦
Does that work with the unofficial patch installed?
yep!
Nice, might try that on my next playthrough because I always loved that crown and I thought the DB should have it in terms of rights and lore. I usually hate head armor because it hides the face or hair I spent a lot of time on but this crown is an exception

I've only killed 2 dragons so far, so I'll settle for stealing the crown and pretending to be queen while hacking at some bandits in a fort.

Everyone knows the Empire is the only correct choice. Or youāre just a dark elf/argonian hater
I mean logically the empire doesn't like the Thalmor controlling them so it's very likely they would counter attack and who better to lead the charge than the dragonborn.
I play as a Dunmer and join the Stormcloaks because while they hate me, they hate the Empire more, which is pretty based.
Hey, that's two more than Hroki and Tor!
There's no way an Argonian, Khajiit, Orc, etc would become High King of Skyrim.
If you really want to get specific Skyrim does have a canon dragonborn, it's the nord you see when you get to character creation.
Sure, just saying this is why it wouldn't work in the actual game.
bruh who cares if they wouldnt accept one in lore. the lore has a canon dragonborn for a reason. devs shouldn't base EVERY SINGLE DECISION upon following lore or we'd simply never get any games cause lore is fucking insane šš
That kind of thinking is what started the civil war in the first place
I hate helmets in general because they hide the one part I spend an hour customizing. I wish there was an option to hide them.
That and most of the helmets look kinda goofy IMO. I usually go with hoods or circlets instead.
Yeah. I hate closed helmets and never give them to followers.
If you favorite them and use a hotkey you can take it on an off good for rp purposes
If you're on PC, you could give yourself a duplicate with console
I've heard the more you use the console commands, the more glitchy it gets. Is it true?
not at all. not for me at least. I've been using "moveto.player" for followers and "setstage" for fixing glitched out quests for years and I never had a problem. Some stuff will break your game though like timescale or stuff like that
If you use them wrong, yes. If you don't just change stuff willy nilly it won't matter
Sometimes I'm forced to use the console, like when Erik got stuck in BFB or Lars in someone's home. So yeah, fuck it.
"Look at me. *Look* at me. I'm the High King now."
On PS4 theres a mod that allows you to craft this crown named "Unique armors & weapons - unenchanted and craftable", not sure if its also on Xbox
I'm on PC. Will try the put-pocket method. I'm definitely keeping that, especially if I can wear it with a mask.
Ooo that would be cool. What's the helm's name?
The Jagged Crown
You can totally keep it. Paralyse and reverse pickpocket your faction buddy in the room where you get it, then paralyse and pickpocket your buddy at the bar later.
I think this only works though if you join the same faction for the civil war as you did when entering Helgen Keep.
Oh but you can
There is a replica mod where you can make one of your own, one in light armor and the other heavy, it also has the ability to count for those full armor perk points when worn with other armors which is a really nice addition, I cannot remember the name of the mod though since the last crash took all my mods and still rebuilding. N. S
You can if you store it.
Thereās also a mod called the dragonplate crown, which basically makes a craftable version and enchantable version of this.
Great job!
Haha thanks! I actually used a preset and only tweaked it a little. I think there are many good-looking NPCs in the game compared to Oblivion.
Just never hand it over, you can keep it
Yes you can. Fuck Ulfric Stormcloak.
EMPIRE! Fuck yeah comin again to save the motherfucking day yeah, EMPIRE fuck yeah
Both suck but empire is a little better I think. Well to each their own
I'd think that there's already a mod that uses that model. If not, it would take maybe 5 minutes to make one.
I don't want to install any additional mods on AE right now. First time playing.
Pickpocket method for console users. PC use the wonderful powers of console commands.
Actually you can, if you can get into either Rolaf or the Empire soldier then you can keepnit
...you can...
Keep it. Tell Ulfric if he wants it he can get it himself, if heās Nord enough
Wwwweeeeelllllllll maybe you could steal it from Ulfric later in the game, man now I have to try this idea, I'll post if I'm successful
Says who??
I downloaded Cheat Room just to get a spare copy.
i donāt use helmets :/
I keep this and declare myself emperor
Thereās a mod called dovah strunmah holl that adds a player home on top of the throat of the world and on one of the shelves is an extra copy of the helm that isnāt marked as a quest item and the house is pretty dope as well
I mean you could
Well yes, but actually no
