At this point, tech platform growth is good but more importantly Sofi needs to show that they are able to sell loans. Otherwise any other growth anywhere else will be small compared to the loans outstanding on the balance sheet.
They had stated they will be holding loans longer, I don’t think their lack of loan sales last Q was due to nobody wanting to be buy them. We’ll see on the next earnings, but I expect a large chunk to be sold, especially with the type of high income high FICO score members in their ecosystem. The longer they hold the loans the larger return will be. I understand the concern though, next earnings will tell!
If the default rate is low then SoFi makes more money by holding the loans longer. SoFi doesn't lend to high risk individuals so I think they'll be fine.
Yup. I get it! It's the street and the macro environment. Just prove to the street by selling a small tranche <100m$. Thus should be small hit to the profit but worth the cost. Lower stock price has worse affects on everything!
