Rupert. Dude was the most popular Survivor player at one point in time. He got one million dollars for just…being him. Even before I became a dedicated fan, I knew who he was. An absolute icon. ETA: A dedicated fan of SURVIVOR, not Rupert lol.

wastedthyme20

Where did he get one million dollars? On another show?

MishellyBee40

He was given a million dollars by winning fan favorite vote on All Stars.

IcyApplication6345

Rupert’s a strong player, but his strategic gameplay has often been overshadowed by his strong personality and likeability sadly 😔.

padfoot12111

He did outwit Russel with a rock that was pretty cool.

If the traitors were to cast rupert and hatch next they'd have prob the top 8 between cirie, parv, sandra, rob, tony, and Stephenie in 8th.

kizzay

I think Hatch gets the Bananas treatment on Traitors but I would love to see him get to really play. Even if the traitors spared him he’s inevitably going to piss off the Bravo players and get round tabled.

SummerWonderful4927

I’d throw Colby Jerri and Russell as honorable mentions.

Tony, Rudy, or Rupert

A few names come to mind. Richard Hatch is iconic for being the first and helping lay the groundwork for Survivor to be what it is today during that first season. Rupert was hugely popular during his seasons, I mean he won a million dollars by being voted on by fans. Parvati is considered one of the best to play the game from the Black Widow Brigade to almost becoming a 2-time winner in Heroes vs Villains. Russell was another who was hugely popular, definitely one of the most well known players from his games on Samoa and HvV. The way he played the game as an absolute villain may not have paid off for him, but it sure was fun to watch. Tony is without a doubt, the most iconic player post HvV. He was great to watch, chaotic at times but ultimately played a fantastic game. Tony in Cagayan is probably what Russell wished he could have done. To cap it off he won Winners at War, becoming the 2nd ever 2-time winner by beating out a cast exclusively made up of former winners. These aren't necessarily my favorite players of all time (Tyson and Jeremy are mine), but you cannot deny they're some of Survivor's most iconic.

Tony Vlanchos 2x Winner

IcyApplication6345

Tony’s so good at Survivor, he probably convinced Jeff to give him the million before the season even started. 😂

Sabur1991

Parvati is one of the greatest players ever - but, I wouldn't call her iconic. It seems that you equate iconic with the best gameplay, which isn't very right (if to look what iconic means in dictionary). So I agree with the first commentator that iconic is somebody who left a huge mark in history and got a ton of people rooting for them. So for me the first three I would think of are Rupert, Colby and Steph.

Your right, I missed my discrepancy 🤦‍♂️
