You can have more than 25 drones per station. If idle, they will hover above the station.

oh yeah I know, but I have enough stations for 200 drones, and built 180 drones, yet of those 180 drones I have 199 + 57 doing something, so unless they can clone this is still weird

That display is hard to understand. I look at that and think it means: * 180 drones idle doing nothing * 199 drones flying supplies around right now * 57 drones demanding better wages

top is total drones, and below that is the drones each on supply and demand, you can see that in a world where you just got drones and count the number you have built and it will always be the top number, UNLESS they changed that in the recent update, but as far as I know that is not the case.
