Bad News: They're locked once you use them
Good News: You should get pulsar quartz from the rooms you unlock - hopefully enough to replace what you used to create the fuse. AND, you will (hopefully soon) unlock the recipe for pulsar quartz and in combination with drones you'll have more than you ever needed once you get automation up and running.
That's not even remotely true... They are one of the most important late game resources...
Beside the fact that they are essential in creating Nuclear Fusion Generators, they are used for making the Teleporters, using the Portal Generator, and trading or making the Fusion Energy Cells to trade for Terra Tokens.
If anything... You'll get to a point where making them is rather easy, then soon after, you get to the point where making *enough* is challenging.
They lock into the wreck. The good news is, you're probably getting close to the point where fusion cells are something you're printing hundreds of per hour so they don't even matter. Just forget about them.
As others said, they lock in place. I wouldn't bother with it until you can make Pulsar Quartz in the first place. Until then, you have a limited supply and using it for power is way better, IMO. After then, the 8(?) fusion cores are pocket change.
My question has always been the reactors on the ships, where it was necessary to create a nuclear pile to open some doors and the others remained closed,
Like the other have said. They lock once used...
A key take-away from the other post is, if you are struggling to craft Fusion Energy Cells, then maybe you aren't ready to unlock the wrecks. There are more important uses for Pulsar Quartz. The contents in those locked rooms only gets better with time.
You can't take them out after a certain amount of time. I had the same idea, but unfortunately I found out that those fuses were there to stay.

and by then they are rather worthless.

the cell gets locked into the reactor a few seconds after it powers up (at least when i played, not sure if a patch changed this)
It was still locking them yesterday...
Sadly I believe you cannot remove it. Once powered, it's there for the duration...

Not at all. My thought was instead of wasting the materials and leaving them there for no good reason, it would make sense to re-use them.
I trade fusion cells for credits to get an alternate ending.
oh, my sweet Summer Child....
