I’d probably buy the amps for cheap if I was standing in front of them in a thrift store just to yoink the knobs and maybe the faceplates off, but yeah not worth the gas to go that far for them in that condition. idk why you got downvoted so hard so I’ll give your post an upvote to help ha, not an outlandish inquiry by any means.
Yep thatnis the conclusion I have come to. If I was there it would be worth just digging through them and making some piles of parts. But under the circumstances I will pass. Thanx.
Depends on that Pioneer model (can't see it). If it has the STK outputs, knobs maybe, the face plate under the grime... I would take it from the curb, not 200 miles though!
People who know what they have know what they have and it would be priced accordingly based on what they know. They would knowingly take care of what they know they have and it would show in condition and price. This is a pile of shit. Knowing this, you should know to walk away. Hard no. Unless you you know how to take these unloved units and restore them or just want parts. You know what I mean?
It's a Drake ESR-240. I'd still be likely to pass on all these units as the exteriors are in horrible shape so it follows in insides are toast. For free, I'd take em and see what I could do. They'd probably get parted out for next to nothing.
Not worth saving these as they are way too far gone. That Pioneer 3700 on top be good for perhaps a time waster restore project just to see how to bring even the roughest audio gear back to life.
Dude anyone who would make a stack like that for a photo obviously doesn’t give any shits about the equipment. Hard NO! Not in a million years. Not even if the seller paid me to come get them.
Yes, Im sure. One of my other posts was for a marantz 2220b that was up for $300, but lowered to $100, and also 100 mile trip one way. "Lights on but no action" type of thing. Hellish day in the yard anyways, so with much encouragement, I went and when i got her home, i found the lady had the fm mute button depressed. Stills a projec, but it did function and I got one hell of a story out of it.
Not for $200. Although the 3700’s electronics may be in restorable condition, if the gas in the fluorescent meters has leaked then game over. I’ve got a a few of Pioneer pieces with Floroscan meters, including a 3700. I really like them. Can’t see regular VU meters from normal listening distance. A shop told me the gas leaks. Can’t be fixed.
Many thanks everyone. That is the way I was leaning. Thought maybe for parts, face plates, etc but I am sure that is the best angle and it is pretty bad haha! Still hunting!
Looks like it was stored In a wet basement for 30 Years
no way
My gut says too much water damage. The only things that might be salvageable are the knobs. I wouldn't waste time on the drive for these myself.
No way Jose. They should be paying YOU to come get all that.

Looks rough
Nope
No way, I would not take that pile for free
I would take some it for free. :)
Zoom in and look at the condition, that stuff is done for; where I live that pile will cost money to be disposed of at the landfill/recycling center

Yeah I guess you’re right, I would take a look if it was local. BUT, if it was take all or nothing, I would not show up
You do you.
Pass
Electronic wasteland.
absolutely not
Nope, unless you’re really aching for a project, but these ones look beyond repair.
This is what we call roached
Maybe roaches and spiders have already taken up residence if not rodents.

Yessir I do. Still curious about the Drake piece?

That particular Drake isn't a US made model. Made in South Korea.
Thank you. I am not familiar witht the brand so I am gonna look at some. Appreciate the lead.
What did it do?
Satellite tuner from the Big Ugly Dish era is my guess.
Pass. They look like they were stored outdoors
Outdoors, indoors, door stops and maybe a boat anchor a couple times
That’s what I call Rat Rod Audio
LMAO! Nice
Just cuz it’s old doesn’t mean it’s vintage and good. Realistic tape deck from radio shack, such junk, they were like 99 bucks
That's the same deck my uncle had to go with his Realistic STA-235B receiver.
This looks like The Rolling Stones of vintage audio.
If it was $20 locally I'd talk them down to $5, $20 200 miles away I'd stop to think about my life choices.
It’s a losing proposition fella, don’t waste your time or money!
You would be crazy to even consider a 200 mile trip for that.
Hell no!
Fuck no.
Parted out you may get your gas money back.
🤦🏻♂️
Pass
No

Roaches

Lol love it!
Fuck. No.
It’s definitely a pile!
I wouldn't bother. The only piece worth putting time (travel time included) into is the Pioneer and it's baked.
Stay home my friend, 'tis only heartbreak and confusion calling you.

Haha nah the price was $20. 200 mike roundtrip so say 5hrs and about $60 in gas.
Many thanks everyone. That is the way I was leaning. Thought maybe for parts, face plates, etc but I am sure that is the best angle and it is pretty bad haha! Still hunting!
Still no, not for 200 miles.
If they didn’t look all beat up and they worked, then yes! What I see here is a very hard no.
Not even $2 and a 20 mile round trip
Yea 200 miles is a big gamble. Besides your time that’s a decent bit of gas
I wouldn't pay 20$ for it if it was next door. But a 200 miles round trip on top of that? Fuck no
I love old gear and challenges but even i'd pass on these. The ride was just too far
Not worth 200 miles. Unless you need parts
Nah
No lowballers, I know what I got!
