Well sure they do! Dogs are weird creatures and mine is no different.
But since he loves them, I pick them occasionally for him.
And after your description of their taste, I'm tempted to try one.....I'll let you know 🤣
That's why I realized it is a mulberry this year, first time I've seen berries on it. Also noticed berries on a neighbor's tree across the street for the first time so this must be the year for the mulberry trees to have berries in my neighborhood.
Pokeweed has started making appearances. Not here yet that I've seen but a couple other subs. One turned into an Elvis discussion because of poke salad annie.
See the seeds are poking out from the fruit?.. typically a sign of a ‘false strawberry’. Actual strawberries are shaped a little less round and their seeds are more like dimples vs zits lol
So my guess is False Strawberry.
We called these bunny berries as kids. And yes, can confirm they very much taste like sadness, disappointment, and that weird aspirin like taste we’ve all had from time to time.
Yep, mock strawberry. Not bad for you but do NOT taste good. My kids used to call them fairy strawberries.
Yet my dog LOVES them!
But dogs eat vomit, cicadas & many other things. 😂 Child me remembers them tasting like sawdust, moisture, and disappointment.
so that’s what dogs taste like?

They taste like the water strawberries were cleaned in.
They don't taste bad though, they don't taste like much at all.
This has got to be the most frequently posted plant here.
Depends on the season. This time of year its a lot of wild and false strawberries and mulberry. Later it'll be pokeweed
Three things I have in my yard! Just found the mulberry growing along the back fence this weekend.Â
Hopefully you'll get some berries. I have a whole tree and in two years have yet to see one hit the ground

In my observation it’s mulberries.

Ok I will never forget your description but now I will never forget it because it is grossing me out hahaha
Lmao!
There is a wild strawberry, but it's fruit hangs from plant just like a reg strawberry. If it's on top it's a mock.
In north New Jersey for context.
I have eaten one. It tastes flavorless. Not sweet or anything.
mock strawberry
Wild strawberry

It's an invasive species from India.
