I'll also add Bird Keeper Toby. He's one of the biggest names in the Pokemon community, and he uploaded his final video last month. He doesn't plan on coming back, and just wants to live life outside Youtube and Twitch. One of the most wholesome people on Youtube.
Yeah he has mostly moved onto streaming. It's at the point where his vods on his second channel often have more views than his edited videos on his main channel.
Still my favorite Minecraft YouTuber, he just doesn't have the appeal to the younger audience I think, the same way most of the popular ones do.
Yeah, he rode the Minecraft train for a long time and got the rewards when Minecraft went back into the limelight, but unfortunately a lot of older creators just kind of fall off.
I remember a lot of YouTubers back in the day who never changed their content from 2012-14, people who played alongside Markiplier, like TheRPGMinx, dlive, Yamimash, etc). Y’know the let’s players that played a lot of horror games? They just never adapted to the times and now they have smaller channels. Which I guess they don’t mind, getting huge is a lot of management
Oh Yamimash’s downfall was Keemstar’s fault for reporting on something he knew nothing about as usual. He definitely deserved a career like Mark’s, but even if you pop into his channel it seems like he still never adapted.
