This is why i stick to mirrormancy... Way too confusing for anyone to make up any laws , plus it's just a jest here or there surely there's never any harm .
Nono, theirs is all that fake stuff.
We just copy everything you do flawlessly, and have access to the multiverse via mirror-gateways.. i myself am a connoisseur in labyrinth entrapment spells however.
That's...just your theme. I'm sorry to break it to you, but that's not a school of magic. That's just your magic theme
What you're describing is a combination of illusion and spatial magic
Not quite, Mirrormancy borrows from crossdimensional multiverses , where an illusionist is fabricating reality.. for example , if you cast a fireball at me, i simply place a mirror in front of myself to steal the fireball you threw at me from another dimension back towards yourself . I can't cast spells otherwise without a catalyst.
What age did you study magic upon? The white towers long ago understood that cross dimensional and multi versal magics while they appear similar have little to do with each other other than their arcane structures.
It's like claiming fireball and lightning bolt in the similar because that target is "hot" after you're near them.
Do not preach thine knowledge to me when you don't even understand what arcane structure is. The arcane structure of a spell is what turns manas into a spell, like how a sawmill turns wood into plank.
When talking about his cross dimensional and multi versal magics, it is true that the White Tower understood that they are different from some aspects. Their arcane structure is very similar, so similar that they have not been classified as different type of magic, and there have been countless debate on whether or not they are.
Also, what you're talking about when you mentioned fire and lightning bolt are their property, not arcane structure
Untill the White Tower had that understanding 500+ years ago they WERE in the same school of magic.
That has changed.
I like that they still used the saw mill example teaching. It both bridges different ages of classes when explaining arcane structures.
Their structures are somewhat similar on a macro level, but splitting the structures into smaller sub structures is where the differences are more pronounced.
It is like a saw that has two blades, one is for wood and the other metal. They are blades. But they do very different things.
Or a pouch vs a cart. One will allow you to buy a few things at the market. The other is used to ship you spell components to your tower and a laboratory away from the city that is trying to govern you.
Both carry your things but do very different jobs well. You could you the pouch to carry your spell components across the real. Or you could use your cart to cart 3 turnips, a jar of honey, and half a dozen eggs from Mabel's farm. But one of those tools does it much better, but we used to call them both "tools for holding".
There's also far less risk of reality breaking paradoxes and accidental cataclysms. Those memes you see about the time traveler moving a chair? They're not entirely accurate, but they do correctly portray how easy it is to alter history unwittingly.
At least mirrormancy (to my knowledge) generally limits itself to risking the present and future.
The kind that makes something out of nothing, and the kind that makes everything out of something. A cunning wizard with a disgusting imagination versed in conjuration and transmutation can be a scary foe even for the mightiest of adversaries.
Well I make two and a half minions out of a single corpse, is that the sort of thing you mean?
You take one fresh corpse, summon back the ghost as a bound minion, then remove all the flesh carefully to expose the skeleton. You then reanimate the skeleton, and the remaining flesh is combined with that of another corpse to make a flesh golem. The skeletal structure is supplimented usually with artificial bones, or if you're skilled enough to produce it next to perfectly, you can simply heal the flesh golem and all new bones will generate to support the golem. Not many people do it that way though, since you have to mimic the human form exactly and some people prefer to use the extra arms as arms, for example rather than just using the best ones.
I'm always striving to make as much of my city's resources as possible, which is necessary when you get besieged by paladins every month for daring to use necromancy
This is resourcefulness of a true necromancer. Anyone using necrotic damage is wasting value materials. More caught up in the aesthetic than art is you ask me. “Oh you turned that would be hero into a desiccated husk? Guess you’re not a fan workable leather!” Edge lords, the lot of them!
Ah, alchemist. I was thinking conjuring.
I think i’m more into compelling? Like heavy persuasion to get living things to do whatever I want them to. “I like your jacket, give it to me.” “You are a stupid man, quit running for office.” “You are a good dog, I love you.”
![gif](giphy|lQeGS2LCeZg7m|downsized)
You can get plenty of the spice of life if you make a spice golem. They're expensive, but they really do add to the atmosphere. A cinnamon golem is my personal recommendation- though, I recommend ground and compressed cinnamon, *not* cinnamon sticks, if you want your golem to have any durability whatsoever.
Ive tried in the past, but it's like using magic febreeze in the apprentice dorms. It doesn't cover up the smell so much as mingle with it and create a far fouler odor than before.
It’s like the old soap-in-the-sock trick. Enemy wizard prepares a ward to block the energy component of the frost ray whilst the kinetic aspect of the ice spike pummels through and pummels them.
Very creative.
Abjuration magic for the win.
Offensive magic don't mean shit against my nullification. And recently I've learned that even the most basic attack spell is often the most effective to use.
This is why I like the basic rock slinging spells... It's quick, inexpensive, and you can nullify the spell all you like, the brick hurtling at your face is very physical.
I have a wizard friend whose favorite weapon was a brick in a sock. Couldn't cast a spell worth a damn but you should have seen rooms clear out when fellow wizards realized he was only wearing one shoe.
And the smell was only partially to blame.
Let me just run down the list... Evocation, elements to burn or shock or freeze your friends. Necromancy spares the dying, or you could just resurrect them. Adjuration keeps you safe and almost makes your armour fair. Divination helps you sense, detect, commune, and talk to bears. Conjuration, portals and make stuff for free. Transmutation, make things into other things. With enchantment, buff, debuff, or in-between. And Illusion, visual tricks to prank the brain with fear and silence, blur and go invisible, pretend your someone else's dad, disguise, mislead, take on their life. War magic is like tank mage, getting lots of defence, flexing as you cast, whack whack whack whack whack whack whack... Maybe Conjuration
WATER ALL THE WAY, BABY!!!!! but also hemomancy is sick as fuck and magic that utilises music.

There is some aesthetics in following the movements of a person’s body and trying to repeat them with the help of the sphere of Forces and Matter.
Easy to answer:
Magic.
All magic has it's time of use. But when you "boil it down", it's still all just magic. There is no school or style i specifically like more or less. Although, as long as i can preserve life and guard it as per my designated construction. There is no right or wrong magic unless it goes against the concept of preserving life.
There is no such thing as forbidden magic. Rather i would say there is moments where some magic could be considered wrong. Time and place for everything.
I honestly hope this answers your question, acolyte.
Disturb magic, I love seeing the looks on those faces when I just completely break apart the spell they've been charging up for 20 seconds.
It's funny, those wizards get so mad.
*Just starts dancing like a child who had one too many bumps of pure, uncut, Colombian Sugar Cane Sugar, making little golems of trash that then also start dancing*
Paracausal magic/probability magic.
You can't *quite* tell the universe what to do or it'll get mad, but you can beguile it and hint at it what would make your day oh so wonderful- and like a good partner, it's often more than willing to help out. It's like having your best day, where you're on fire (not literally, pyromancers) and tap dancing on the rockslide of life (not literally, geomancers), and nothing can touch you, but every day.
Then hexes, so your enemies can never experience that.
conjuring can be really flexible if you have a little creativity. definitely my favorite in terms of utility. for self defence, I like the stasis fields available through chronomancy. it's a shame it takes so long to master.
Abstraction magic.
simply put, my target will be curious on what does 'Abstraction' define as and will be both scared and cautious while still being within the realm of unknown about my magic
they will be so bewildered about my magic to the point where they panic, trip over a rock and then hit their head on a stone slab, which will cause them to die
this magic is both a blessing and a curse as my enemies will be confirmed to be scared while my companions will never get to know about my magic, as every time i tried to tell them, i will trip over a rock and damage my lip
but the true ability of this magic is...
it can abstract the balls of my target...
which is ...
quite hellish to experience
soul manipulation, or “Animamancy”. While not precisely “true” magic, it’s a very flexible discipline that can even be utilised to empower standard magics.
Well Idk what that is called but most of my bodies have a core that is a celestial object (like stars, blackhole, pulsars, planets and hell even nebulas) so I just use them depending on the body i am using.
If alchemy is magic, then alchemy.
If it’s not “magic”, then I’d say transmutation. Could never get the hang of it, but damn can you do cool stuff with it
Communal with spirits and natural forces. The integration of one soul to another to channel the energy that the communion creates into the will of its caster. Translating the willpower of the wizard in combination with the whispers of the spirits into tangible and impactful forces.
Construct-o-mancy (Patent pending), being able to build anything i want just by visualizing it its extremely lucrative, especially with all the times that the council hall/buildings have been destroyed.
As an entomancer I am required to tell you to KEEP YOUR GODDAMN FIRE AWAY FROM MY HIVES, I’VE HAD THREE TOO MANY BURNED DOWN BY SOME MEDDLING THIEVES GUILD LAST WEEK AND ONLY A FEW THOUSAND OF MY POOR BABIES MADE IT OUT. The gall.
Targeting bees of all things is such a low blow, they’re already dying out despite mine and the local druids efforts…
Anyways I tied up the entire thieves guild and had swarms of horseflies eat them alive for the past three days, most died from shock but I made sure to keep the actual perpetrators alive throughout the entire process. As is the due course of nature… Especially when you piss off a dark elf, they’re lucky I’m not doing worse.

As the great wizard Arthur Aguefort once said, "the greatest magic of all is chronomancy"
"... Friendship?"
I sadly do not know chronomancy, i just can't find any good recourses to learn it
The best way to learn chronomancy is to be self-taught, but other than that there are some masters out there who might be willing to teach you.
Just go to a chronomancer and say "So it's the same type of magic as my magic.".

TREES!!!
Well, that may be a tad excessive.
you can never have enough trees

Cryomancy is a real classic even though the war between “launch an ice spike” and “chill the air with a ray of frost” will wage on for eternity

Construct-o-mancy (Patent pending), being able to build anything i want just by visualizing it its extremely lucrative, especially with all the times that the council hall/buildings have been destroyed.
Biomancy. I wish to make everything, but out of **meat**
CHEESEMANCY
Evocation. Because of fireball.
Gotta be piss magic
Pyromancy or Geomancy
Cuisinomancy. I like making the most magical of foods.
The gall. Targeting bees of all things is such a low blow, they’re already dying out despite mine and the local druids efforts… Anyways I tied up the entire thieves guild and had swarms of horseflies eat them alive for the past three days, most died from shock but I made sure to keep the actual perpetrators alive throughout the entire process. As is the due course of nature… Especially when you piss off a dark elf, they’re lucky I’m not doing worse.
