>Asked how she responded, Noga said, “I pretended to laugh so he wouldn’t shoot me in the head.”

“Thousands of Palestinians, including children, cheered as their vehicle entered the streets of Gaza and tried to hit her and pull her hair through the broken windows” Are these the same poor innocent Palestinians I keep hearing about?

Love the name my dude. Rev Maynard was the greatest. Standing above the crowd, he had a voice that was strong and loud

Gunnar_Peterson

Let's be honest a large portion of Palestinians are not good people however this doesn't mean there aren't innocent people that get caught in the crossfire

HighInChurch

"Bad" people can still be innocent, just FYI.

"You see! This is PROOF the hostages were treated well!"

Borledin

This is proof that they need to be pulled from Gaza now and whichever method is faster is best. I've always been of the opinion that there's plenty of time for war later after they get as many back as they can first. But some people just can't quench their thirst for dead civilians and children enough to wait that long I guess.

Cortical

if Hamas took the hostages precisely to provoke a war. And they reject all deals to release them.

Borledin

Agree to whatever they say. After you get the hostages, attack again anyway. Hamas will likely fire rockets or do something stupid on their own anyway.

Borledin

> At first, Shiri tried to politely reject the proposal, but the Hamas captor did not seem to accept the rejection, so she yelled at him until he understood, according to Meytal, one of Noga’s two sisters who sat next to her for the Channel 12 interview. Awesome mom > While she has lost much of her faith in the IDF, which wasn’t there to protect her and her family on October 7, Noga plans to enlist next month. And I hope this motivates more young Israelis to also participate in politics and make their voices heard. Biggest problem worldwide is these aging boomers clinging to power and screwing up the world for the young

Join the military - that’ll show Bibi. /s

3lit_

yeah not sure i followed his train of thought lol

Borledin

Participating in government/civil service is an alternative to the military or a path out of the military for many. It's fine if she wants to become a career soldier, but greater youth participation in all facets of public service is a good thing.

mop_and_glo

It’s not *fine* to become a career soldier based on this situation. (Whether becoming a “career soldier” is a wise, valid, or moral choice is another discussion.) It ensures she will be self-biased and have training and weapons to exact her revenge. That’s what you’re applauding?

Borledin

> It ensures she will be self-biased and have training and weapons to exact her revenge. She doesn't sound like she wants to just kill Gazan civilians. I've seen that sentiment from others and she doesn't sound like them. She implied it was giving her a measure of control over her life again. She had trauma that made her feel perpetually unsafe and the only light during that period was when the military, who she was already pissed at, was there to comfort her when she was released. So she wants to seek more of that, to be that for others as a way of dealing with her own trauma. I highly doubt she would be pro-Bibi who's basically done jack for the hostages. So the more anti-Bibi people who enter public service, including the military, the better.

mop_and_glo

You detailed my point very well. Only the military makes her feel safe, so? Sure sure, maybe all the those level headed and forgiving hostages will probably just join the army to feel personally better and oh, make the world a better place too. No retaliation in mind now or ever. Smh. That’s what’s happening now! 32000 + casualties is payback (13,000 children!) and revenge and retaliation for the incursion and kidnapping. It’s not going to stop because you think this person will suddenly transform into an idealist.

Borledin

The number of Israelis who are realizing this war is hurting them is growing. They're not getting the hostages, Hamas isn't being defeated, their economy is shrinking and they're beginning to feel it and their reputation as a country and people is being dragged through the mud everywhere, including in countries like the United States. They may not care much for the lives of Palestinians but nobody wants to be associated with pictures of dead babies. That is not what they signed up for when supporting the response to 10/7. They want a safe prosperous country and Netanyahu is failing on both accounts.

https://nypost.com/2023/10/09/hamas-terrorist-called-mom-of-sisters-kidnapped-at-rave-to-mock-family/ Let's not forget these girls: *“He called Hodia and Tair’s mother, Tamar, and laughed at the family,” family friend Tal Hezekiah told the news outlet in Hebrew, adding that he grabbed the phone from the anguished mom.* *Hodia David and her sister, Tair. were kidnapped from a rave by Hamas terrorists. Hodia David and her sister, Tair. were kidnapped from a rave by Hamas terrorists. Courtesy of Family “Then the terrorist laughed and said to me in broken Hebrew: ‘Do you want to marry her?’ And hung up,” Hezekiah added* They were later found dead and in such a state so as not to let their parents see the remains.

The source is literally her saying it during TV interview

joeexoticlizardman

You don't trust the account of the actual hostage? What possible better source is than that? Will you only trust the news if you also get the account of her rapist captor?
