Wonder if arachnophobia mode works for other people's mounts and pets. Cause seems kind of shortsighted if a person has it on, then someone on that hyper realistic spider mount just mozies on by.

...I don't know if it works on *this* particular pet, though -- I think the arachnophobia mode toggle says that it works on *most* spiders, not *all* spiders.
I don’t want to sound like an ass, but arachnophobia is actually a real thing? I’ve never met anyone with it so I am curious if it is so prevalent that it prompted blizz to do the crab thing. Like when I see a spider I just kill it. How dare it trespass into my home.
Phobias are a real thing and Arachnophobia happens to be one of the more common ones. The thing to remember with phobias is that they are "irrational" fears that are still triggering responses in the body. So even though you might smash a spider or someone else might say eww gross get that away; a person with true diagnosed arachnophobia will have fight or flight symptoms or responses even of their mind can say "bro its just a small spider"
For me I have a phobia of frogs. They shouldn't bother me at all and I 100% know this, but encountering frogs in real life literally sends my heart racing, I start sweating, and I go into a sort of adrenaline fueled "get me the fuck outta here" mode. Thankfully seeing frogs on screen doesn't bother me.
Frogs can be colourfully poisonous and regular ones give you warts and shit though right? Not to like add on to your phobia or anything but don’t go around touching random frogs either lol
I have a phobia of large bodies of water (thalassophobia, on God I hate the image of a black deep dark ocean) lakes don’t bother me as much for some reason because leviathans can’t really fit in a lake but those 3d renders that people make of giant ocean monsters definitely worsens it. I will never go on a cruise ship either 👎

Not only is arachnophobia real, but you also shouldn’t kill spiders in your home. House spiders not only favor the environment of your home, but they’re also excellent pest control.
