The disc was for the original xbox 360 model and external wifi N adapter (twin antennas). The N adapter came out in 2009. G adapter came out in 2005. When the S & E models were released, they came with built in Wifi. No disc required.

The very original one actually only had one antenna.. I had a third-party one that had the two antennas and then later on Microsoft made an official one with two antennas also

So the 1st pic is supposed to look like that with the disc installed?

reddragon105

I'm not sure what the disc is supposed to show up as, but all it contains is the system software update required for the Wireless N adapter, which came out in 2009, so if the console has been updated since then it's not going to do anything when the disc is inserted.

ironspyder1734

Well damn, then I guess I'm going to sell it to users who it need the most (especially if they're using the phat consoles).

reddragon105

No one needs it - if you have a 360 that somehow hasn't been updated for 14 years you can update just by connecting to Xbox Live or downloading the update from the Xbox website and putting it on a USB stick, which is free and more convenient than buying a disc with an out of date version. Maybe it's worth something as a collectible though?

ironspyder1734

Maybe, I guess I'll just hold on to it (for preservation sake). P.S. I forgot to mention I have a 360 E console.

FireAlarmExpert

I'm pretty sure that was only needed if you were on an older dashboard that didn't have the drivers integrated already. Every Phat console I've had on the latest dash for the past 6 years hasn't needed it.
